  1. HAHAHa what a great story *pirate* *pirate* :-D But how do you know all that??
  2. With last version I mean, the most completed version Let's say this is the first version and this the last version The last is more completed than the first...
  3. There are some land based mocs I really like; Like these: Pirates attacking a sea town from a brickshelf member called dandrew The Rebuild a fort from Landlubber And offcourse, BaronSats peurto Brico.
  4. It depends on how large you want to have your ship, the parts you listed are higly reccomended. Do you already know what type of ship you want to build? For example, most Brigs had 2 masts, but sloops usually had only 1 mast, while a frigate and bigger had 3 masts (all excluding bowsprits) If you want to know how much center sections and cannons for the ship types I mentioned I reccomend: Center Sections.......Masts**...... Cannons Sloop: 1 or 2....................1.............6 to 12 Schooner: 2.....................2.............12 Brig: 3 or 4......................2.............12 to 20 Corvette*: 4 or 5 .............3.............20 to 32 Frigate: 4 to 6...................3.............20 to 44 Heavy frigate: 6 to 7..........3.............44 Big battleship: 7 to 8..........3.............50 to 70 Ship of the line: 8 to 10......3.............70 to 100 * a corvette or a light frigate is almost the same, ** you probarlay noticed that there are no ships with 4 masts in this table, a ship with 4 masts was quite uncommon I asume that you won't go for a ship of the line straight away, but I thought it might be useful.. I hope that made any sense.
  5. This could be very useful for ship mocs, it is useful for me, now I know where to put sails and ropes on my ships, great find, thanks for putting this to my attention!
  6. On my Birthday, I got the lego passenger plane, at a first look, it seemed a winged, wheeled and roofed ship to me...then I discovered it was an "airplane"...Mmmmm*thinking* airplane, aircraft... I might have find us the meaning of the word aircraft carrier!!! sorry for the big pic: Aircraft carrier
  7. Which ship is this? It looks like this image has a constrained width (I.e. it should be wider than it is) and it looks too tall for its length. It looks like the Pallada to me And the width is supossed to be like that, I've bin at some of those tall ships on Sail 2005 in Amsterdam, the most looked to long for its width, the only ship what was wide enough for it's lenght was the Amerigo Vespucci, a bloody nice ship!
  8. It is just such a bloody pity that there aren't very much and good picture of the last version, only dark pictures and pictures took out of a strange position...
  9. I agree about the masts and sails, and a brick built hull could work. But if he really wants to use the traditional ones, he should get some more and make it taller, it looks to high for it's lenght...
  10. Yes it is, it might be the bottle from this set.
  11. I must say that I like the new city line very good...Lego is indeed going in the right way, you are right about the new KK it jas got some more CC looks than the colourful line, but still no proper pirate line, and that really bothers me!
  12. I was wondering, what part of the ship this is? is it the middle or the back or the front...what is it supposed to be?
  13. I really expected, something like that would happen...When he was in a coma, one of the other guys from top gear, kept saying: you are a bad driver! and Hammond laughed, and came out of the coma LOL!!
  14. Thank you *pirate* BaronSat, just asking, does this ''ship'' or this part of it, has a name??
  15. Hi Mr Tiber, It seems that capstans appear on lower deck on some ships too. That's what I saw when I make my search for this model. Indeed. And just some extra trivia about captstans - sometimes they went through a deck... You could have crews working the same capstan on two decks at once... the trick, of course, is to get them all pushing the same way. ;-) You are right!!! today it is my Birthday, and I got a pirate book, with a drawing of a ship, and I did notice 2 capstans, on the main deck and the gun deck :-P
  16. Thank you! I havn't got lots of presents by now, well..lego presents....I do have a nice book about pirates, a guitar, and the lego Airplane, I don't know why but I just seem to like that plane...
  17. Not respecting the brick? I don't know about that...
  18. How much times do I need to tell you that not every man with a bandana, a striped shirt or a missing eye is a pirate......*tries to stay calm*
  19. Okay, "problem" solved, it has no point to continue about the calendar, so please close this topic...
  20. I'll try that...
  21. If you give me the time...I have a question about the prize, what do you mean with that? an online prize or a real life prize? I don't get.... are progress mocs also allowed??? If you build a moc, will the name also matter? And who will be the jury? I think they should look at the following points: -Creativity -Design(nice look) -Design(does it works, does it looks sturdy) And off course, has the creator take time and love to create a new moc, or does he just rushes a crap moc to win a contest? those are offcourse not the only points, but I can't come up with more points at the moment...
  22. I didn't try that yet... But I think it won't help :-( I don't have the choice on wich way to start...
  23. This is really great! Although I have some things to say: If I am right, the wheel is supposed to be the capstan, but I don't believe those were on that deck... And I am not sure about the carronades but I believe they are also on the wrong deck! The details are, once again, great, the fences look very nice...
