  1. You have got to be kidding me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Those surely can't be "MID YEAR SALE" prices, perhaps that's what they're scanning up at now normal prices (I hope). Bring on overseas purchases...... I'd rather be supporting the wages in the USA!
  2. So your saying your source is wrong, incorrect, unreliable........ Now we just have to wait for the price $$$$ waiting game! Lets hope the UCS Shuttle hangs around till clearance/mark down day! I doubt the shuttle will be $270, more like $400 with $50 dollars off and they'll promote is as the exclusive of the year!!!
  3. Glad it wasn't just me that had no idea what that sentence mean't :-)
  4. Dotmike, Your right about the comment that who ever purchased the Eiffel Tower and Taj Mahal will be buying this set also, but in saying that, I do remember both those sets hanging around at Myer for a while after the big sale........ The bigger sets are obviously harder to move and usually sell to the dedicated collector.
  5. That's what were saying !!!! Yes, it will be on sale for a second year
  6. Hey Shopforme Some great prices being offered on your website which is making me think twice about ordering the Lego sets from overseas anymore. I look forward to seeing the MF sale price coming up, although I am slightly disappointed the Imperial Shuttle is only 20% off now ;-) But combined shipped certainly makes your sales appealing!
  7. Hey sideshow77, The catalogue is from a contact at a Myer store, stores already have the catalogues so they can get ready for the sale. I forgot to mention that Myer yet again has the Imperial Flagship (Pirate ship) and Cargo Train on sale this year, can't remember the prices but they're the same one's from last years midyear toy sale.
  8. Im so disappointed in Myers up and coming midyear Lego toy sale, that here it is folks (I haven't written all the sets in the catalogue as I wasn't interested in the other sets) News from Myers Catalogue is: Tower Bridge - $319 SW Ewok Attack - $39.95 SW Frigate - $159 PoTC QAR - $149 Not a sale in my opinion, midas well wait for a Buy 2 Get 1 Free. The only good news is that Myer is getting the Sort and Stack Lego Heads - Sale price of $29.95 (after sale $49.95)
  9. OK Shopforme, we don't keep secrets here so spill the news about Fridays set :-) Hey, if you don't ask you don't get.....
  10. The pricing layout based on Lego's head office in Denmark does makes sense, totally over priced but makes sense (especially with the pieces count to price ratio). So the question must be asked WHY is........ the US getting the special treatment on lower prices.....? Here's why........ 1. 250+ million people (lots of customers to tap into and make money from) 2. Extremely competitive market (Lego has to have lower prices so they continue to sell in proportion to other Toys markup's in the US) 3. Recession (Their economy/government is edging towards bankruptcy, $800 trillion in debt, no way to pay it back and it just continues to grow... soon they'll totally crumble) So all in all, Lego have to lower their prices in the USA just so they're competitive and continue selling the USA, plus it makes The Lego Groups books look bigger. For me..... the answer is simple, as long as the economy is so bad in the USA, our Australian dollar will continue to rise and be high. For those that have internet access, or hear it through friends/family that Lego can be purchased from the US at hugely discounted prices will soon begin to jump ship from Australian retailers and go overseas. In this day and age (including Australia's slow economic spending days) everyone will be watching their spending, including general mum and dads/house holds. Shame I won't be spending my money in Australian stores, but I will have twice as much Lego for the same RRP price tag. Enough of my rant, "Keep on Saving"
  11. Those prices are shocking..... Darth Mauls Sith Infiltrator - 479 piece's $129.99 Should be on clearance in Feb 2012 for $55.00
  12. Absolutely agree......... does that make the RRP on the up and coming SW Republic Frigate 7964 or Millennium Falcon $300+ given the amount of pieces?
  13. No need to plug Toycorner again, even if they did get the PoTC & Cars 2 sets in, they're still wayyyyyyyy over priced and always will be at RRP! 15% off won't sell those sets, 20% off won't move the stock and with Myer having 25% off on all Toys and Lego still doesn't sell the sets at those Australian RRP levels. "Keep on boycotting RRP pricing, ORDER FROM OVER SEAS AND SAVE !!!!!!"
  14. Edit 2: What is going on, no longer special order, PotC sets now available on BN. Are you sure your not looking at another Lego set, B&N still has PoTC sets for 3-5 weeks order.......
  15. I'd personally rather wait for an B&N order of x1 PoTC QAR then wait for a sale or price drop from "Rip Off Retail" prices we have here in Australia. I'll be ordering from B&N as the packaging/postage is sensational. Keep on B&N'ing
  16. Can any one confirm if they've purchased Lego from Target when a %OFF sale starts on Thursday, but managed to sneak in on a Wednesday prior to them closing and got the discount (eg: 20% Off?) Just throwing it out there? "Keep on boycotting PoTC RRP prices"
  17. Hmmmm, it's tempting at $149 but your right, that set is not worth anymore then $149 Australian. If Myer ever get it I'll be able to get x3 for $132.66 dollars each once they run their Buy 2 Get 1 Free. Wouldn't it be nice if Target added that 20% off to the $149 catalogue QAR price :-) But at least the other sets which aren't listed in the catalogue will get 20% off also, including those PoTC sets which aren't mentioned.
  18. Im trying to work out the maths here, if the RRP of the set is $199, and Target have a 20% off, doesn't that make the price $159.20? Or do you mean they're lowering the QAR to $150?
  19. Your a legend "lostdriveway", just secured x3 at my local Myer !!!!
  20. I will not buy these sets at RRP or 20% off or 33% off, it is daylight robbery and at least with this AFOL /closing his wallet Im with you on that one!
  21. Yep, mine's also been cancelled...... I didn't believe the previous posts about those that have had previous Lego pre-order sets cancelled, shame really. I now am a believer and won't waste my time and money pre-ordering with them either. Either they get the stock or they don't, surprising they haven't since the sets have even landed here in Australia.
  22. Blacklist those hideous prices........ hopefully no one will give them a look at those inflated prices and we’ll see huge clearance sales before Xmas.
  23. Im really surprised that people are excited about the deal, I am not. The only ground breaking development is that Australia is included in the Free shipping offer, a first we've ever seen and perhaps more to come for us in the future, hopefully with better sale prices given the inflated prices we pay? But the discounted prices on the SW Lego sets clearly shows that the price of shipping is actually included in the 'discounted price'. Shame really, since the sets on offer can easily be purchased from department stores on a percentage off sale much cheaper. Otherwise the price of the Dropship is no match for the clearance price from K-Mart last year at $149 along with the Tantive IV price of $169 from K-Mart also. $5 dollars off Republic Swamp Speeder. $9 dollars off Cad Bane's Speeder. $17 dollars off AT-AT walker. $60 dollars off Tantive IV. $60 dollars off Dropship with AT-OT Walker. $40 dollars off UCS Jedi Starfighter. Given the 'inflated' Australian prices as compared to the US pricing, these are no specials, the only one I can justify is the AT-AT walker considering that it's a Toys'R'Us exclusive and only available from them, it's probably the best priced set given the free shipping and for those unable to get to a Toys'R'Us store. Jump on the band wagon for the free shipping on other Lego sets, but as for the advertised 3rd and 4th of May Star Wars sale....... LET DOWN.
  24. Not sure if anyone's interested since Myer had it's Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Saturday, but in todays SA Advertiser Myer is advertising a 20% off all toys sale.
  25. Hey, im certainly up for sharing and offering sets to other members, but the way I look at it for sale items is: first in, first served! Why would anyone leave a Lego bargain in any store? I'd be buying up all sale items also, because it's either me buy up now, or let the next guy that comes along to buy them and put them on E-Bay. Personally, I'd rather it be me which gets a bargain for a change! 'Keep on finding those bargains'
