You are currently my favorite pirate MOCer SlyOwl! One the creative part you score extremely high. I've told it before in the WIP thread, this is a fantastic MOC and I just *wub* it. I hope you'll make more wonderful pirate MOCs in the future to share with us.

Seems like a good idea to revive this old thread because it appears the creator of this wonderful website will be selling his collection in the near future.

Thanks everyone for all the nice compliments! I designed it in Paint Shop Pro, printed and glued it. One this wonderful day in December our pool was frozen and there was a bit of snow on the ice. Luck? Maybe :-)

When I came out of my dark ages (somewhere early 2006), I focussed all my money on minifigs (Imperial Guards/Soldiers). Only later I bought the Black Seas Barracuda and the rest of the pirate sets.

I can't argue on this. Master and Commander is not only my favorite "pirate movie", but also one of my favorite movies in general! Besides M&C there is the wonderful Hornblower series which was (and is) a great source of inspiration for me.

I have a good reason for reviving this review :-) I just ordered the Cafe Corner (finally). My hope is the colors issues are fixed by now.

Like the set, this review also deserves a 10/10. I've ordered this set yesterday on S@H. Seeing and reading this review, I'm convinced it will be worth the money. So, Bonaparte is finally entering the City theme !!!

You are right, this one would also fit in the History forum. But they already have so many new castle sets and this one could belong in the Pirate forum just as well.

I always love to see some of these custom torso's on minifigs. Especially the blue torso (second vignette) is one of the better ones. Where did you finish in the contest?

This was certainly one of my favorites of the contest. You've managed to build a ship that looks like a full blown galleon on this tiny hull. That's not a small achievement! And like Phred mentioned, the idea's you had for the crew are awesome. You also did a fine job on the sails, rigging, color schema, ....

Next week I'll be in Casablanca (Morocco) from Monday till Friday for work. So I'll have a chance to look at the architecture myself. I hope to find time for visiting the old city centers of both Casablanca and Rabat. Btw, do we have some active members from Morocco? I can't think of one right now.
