Actually bought it last week on eBay in used condition: 5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise plus 7409 Secret of the Tomb for $41 AUS dollars which I thought was a great deal when compare with prices on BrinkLink. Unfortunately I wasn't home today when Aussie Post came to deliver so I need to go get it tomorrow - can't wait

I'm reading up all the reviews about Adventurers sets and I have really enjoy reading about them (and wanting these sets)! Thank you very much for your wonderful review, especially on a Dino Island set because I think they have been really neglected. Love the T-Rex Printed parts, no stickers! I would love to get my hands on this set.

Well it's been an eventful day. I decided that I do really want the Apple Tree House from Myer after all so I rang my closest Myer - which is Myer Highpoint - when they opened this morning. The girl at the toy department was really nice and said she'll put one aside for me with my name on it. Anyway, I had to run lots of errands and got to Myer Highpoint after lunch. I went to the counter and the girl remembered me from the phone call but when she looked behind the counter, she said that the Apple Tree House was gone. She thought maybe someone put it away and went to check in the back. I wandered around to check on the shelf but there was none left. I then saw this guy walking around with the Apple Tree House. He was taking off this white paper taped to the box and then he walked to a counter in another section to pay for it. The girl got back and said she couldn't find it which was strange because she taped a sheet with my name on it (hmmmmm.....interesting!). The manager came over and even went down to check at the docking area for me. Eventually he rang around and said there was one left in Chadstone and he can get them to post it to me without charge! So I'm going to be getting the Apple Tree House in about a week plus got the 10% discount (so it's around $50) and they gave me the bunny to take home today. Myer Highpoint gets top marks for me for their awesome customer service But to whoever took the Apple Tree House, how rude!

My nearest TRU in Victoria, they haven't got it in yet The girl was nice enough to check for me and said it's coming soon but they're only getting no more than 4 or 5 and no you can't pre-order. I think I will summon all the willpower I have left and wait out for the Grand Emporium, now if that's being sold for this price at TRU, I'll be camping out there! Is it confirmed that Grand Emporium is a DJ's exclusive for later in the year? Sorry just read guy montag's post, okay, I'm haunting DJ in July then! Prince of Persia only out for two months? My collection consists of the recent Pirates set and since I only got back into Lego very late last year, I don't have all of them. 6239 Cannon Battle 6240 Kraken Attackin' 6242 Soldiers' Fort 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty 8397 Pirate Survival 10210 Imperial Flagship I love the older sets but they're quite expensive and I burned a hole in my Lego budget getting the Imperial Flagship (but I don't regret it! ) The one that I wish I got my hands on for the latest set was Shipwreck Hideout but I never saw it in any shop

No Fire Brigade at DJ in Melbourne CBD I didn't see any sale sign near the Lego but I was in a rush and nothing was interesting (better save up for Prince of Persia!)

I'm glad to hear that they are heading to our shore, but a bit disappointed that they are going to be an exclusive to a particular store. I was hoping all the stores (Kmart, Big W, etc) would be stockpiling them

Lego prices have indeed gone up at Kmart in VIC. I went to buy the Apple Tree House today and it scanned at $74! Lucky that they did not change the shelf price tag so they let me buy it for $65

Here in Victoria, I went to Kmart Moonee Ponds today and they still have a couple of the Creator Family Home for $65. Bought several street plates from Myer 20% off sale

Hi everyone, I managed to get to Brickvention yesterday late afternoon b/c I'm moving house and there's tons to do! I had an enjoyable time and there were lots of amazing displays. Unfortunately I was in a hurry so I didn't get to talk to those manning their displays (and dodging between all the kiddies). Love the castle and town displays as those are my favorite themes, and also the musuem one, very original. Congratulation to the committee on your successful event!

Hi lightningtiger, that's true for the ones in CBD and the shopping centres here in Melbourne but I have still managed to find more Legos at the more out-of-the-way Kmart and Target. My weekend Lego hunt in Melbourne western suburbs got me the Pirates Soldier Fort on sale at Kmart Also saw some Indy set for the very tempting price of $30 but I'm now flat broke

Thank you for the tip Aquila D'oro I've rung them and they didn't have it in stock (got a young-ish sales assistant on the phone and she got confused with Brickbeard Bounty). I asked if they will be getting it in the near future and again, no definite answer. I've been to their place before, which is actually about 5 min from my house (well my soon to be old house) and while they do get some exclusive in from time to time, you cannot place any order through them. Sigh, I guess we're getting nowhere here.

Nooooooooo.... it's getting so hard for ppl in Australia to get this set without putting lots of money towards postage. Sigh, i can probably by it at RRP but when you add the postage, it's gonna be way out of my budget. Lego centres? whereabout are these?

Since I only got back into Lego this year, I'm just wondering - has it always been this mad scramble to get Lego every Christmas or is Lego becoming a more popular gift of choice? I'm sad about the empty shelf - I haven't had enough time to start collecting the Pirates and Castle themes and I love these historical stuff, oh well, I'll try ebay or BL later next year when I got more money in the piggy bank

See but it depends on the staffs. I used to live in Canberra for a while and the guys at the local EB were great even if they didn't play the same game as me. The ones I've been to in Melbourne have been hopeless and a lot of the time not too helpful. I tried price match and they said they need to ring up the store to double check that it's not on sale...then turn around and started serving the customer behind me...walked out and never return after that. Anyway, sorry not really Lego-related Big W has Lego Star Wars Echo Base on sale for $29.67...I got one so I can get the Tauntaun in my town.

Work might get a bit crazy next month but I will do my best to attend at least on the Sunday Gotta support our local convention!
