  1. Yep, I've seen the ad at the bus stops around Melbourne too That's an awesome deal for City Corner. I got one for around that price from Big W - 1st set I got since I started getting into Lego this year. I really like that set . If I had more money, I would get a second set. The camper deal looks good too.
  2. Where is this free offer you speak of? I checked today's Melbourne MX and there's nothing Lego-related in it
  3. Awesome review, Svelte! I love your commentary and all the pictures giving nice clear views of this impressive set! OMG, must start saving right now!! Unfortunately I only got back into Lego very late this year and so have missed out on a lot of the Pirates sets but I managed to get Brickbeard's Bounty. I totally love this set!
  4. I'm in the same boat (!), I'm moving house so I have to be hold out until well after New Year (nooooooooooooooooo) I kept staring at the box so much, I'm burning holes into it!
  5. Great pictures and very entertaining review ISC! I wished I got into Lego earlier in the year because I would have bought it on sight. I could not find this set in any store and it was on my MUST-HAVE list. Fortunately I managed to get it off ebay (a bit more costly...but I think once all the pirate sets are discontinued this year, the price might go even higher). I absolutely love this set!
  6. Thanks everyone! Yep definitely notice the disappearing pirate theme - they're flying off the shelves, I'm going to have to prioritise the ones I really want that is within my piggy bank limit (so hard to do!) For those in Melbourne, I couldn't believe the empty shelves at the city stores! I think I left it too late to get some of the sets.
  7. Wow, I didn't know that we have a Lego convention right here in Melbourne! That's so cool, I'm going to try and attend on one of the days. Big kudos to the organising committee for all their hard work in setting up the convention
  8. Thank you! Actually I forgot to mention that it was due to my friend at work who is a big, big Lego fan that got me interested in Lego again
  9. Yep yep, have gone and properly introduced myself. Thanks for the link
  10. Hi everyone! I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I have very recently rediscovered my love for Lego (and also the fact that I can actually afford to buy them now!). My fav themes so far have been City, Pirates and Castle. I love the variety that Lego has been introducing in the recent years, making it great to mix and match different themes for your Lego town (or planet or whatever your piece of Lego paradise may be). I'm really looking forward to 2010 and all the new and exciting Lego products that are coming! BTW, my fav sets this year have been the Medieval Market and the City Corner....wait I think I love Brickbeard Bounty too....argh too many to choose from!
  11. After more than a decade in the dark age, I have returned to Lego! I've only started collecting in the last few months. Anyway, after seeing all the posts about 25% off Lego at Myer and DJ, I went to buy the 7280 Straight & Crossroad Plates for my town after work yesterday. They were all gone from Myer Melbourne! They are restocking the shelves at Myer though but didn't have those ones. Anyway, rush off to DJ...GOLD! Found some of those plates Oh and all the carousels at DJ are gone, ppl taking advantage of the sale.
