A very streamlined and elegant starship indeed, well done. Hmm... the color scheme´s also nice, although with that red accent it almost looks like some kind of hospital ship...

A wonderful and very intriguing work, smooth and elegant.

A very good work, simply beautiful in size and appearance, with fine details like these smart side mirrors.

Very nicely done! I always´ve a soft spot for small, yet elegant and smart vehicles, very good!

A very cool MOC, and a very fine use of that big rubber thingy. It looks very realistic, tough but still smooth. A detailed and clever work indeed!
-
An interesting and pretty smart design with fine details like that front opening. I think it´s not so easy to make small space crafts that´re able to host a MF and you did a fine job on this.

A very smooth and authentic looking rendition, and with very fine details too. I really like that little ship from the series and you did a great job on it.

A very cool work in a wonderful, unusual and almost brave color scheme indeed. I really like the fine details of the engine and overall it´s sweet asymmetrical design.
-
A smart work and a really cool improvement, very detailed. I especially like that fine back. Sexy!

A beautiful and very detailed work indeed. My favorite parts´re the great head and these impressive legs, very clever!

A very impressive work in a wonderful design (almost a little retro-futuristic if I´m allowed to say so), with a smart approach to functionality and a very detailed interior.
-
A cool and clever work, pretty beefy and still cute somehow. The color scheme´s very fine too.

A smooth work and a very lovely and fresh design indeed!

A fine and very interesting work. Although the mechs look heavy and beefy they also came with a great and almost fractal look due to the clever scheming and the rich amount of details.

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Asuka replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
That´s an interesting and nice theme in a fresh and neat color scheme with almost cute 'monsters'. However, it just looks, somehow, like it´s designed toward a slightly younger audience if compared to recent City, StarWars, Indy or Castle sets.... no problem, but not exactly my cup of tea either.... maybe I´ll get some of them for parts. -
What a marvelous set! I really think that TLC reached now an almost historical peak of development regarding exceptional, ambitious and challenging set conception & design, especially from an AFOL point of view that is, by giving us so many extraordinary and spectacular sets over the last one or two years. Maybe it would be time now for TLC to adapt their line of distribution too, because it seems really strange to me to reserve some of the very best sets they ever did just to their S@H marketing. Sets so beautiful like that, within a price range from € 150 up to € 300 should do pretty well in stores too, at least in smaller numbers. This new set looks like a wet Castle dream coming true indeed. A simply perfect concept and just wonderful executed. Maybe I wonder a little about the placing of the chimneys because I think the forge could need one and it looks like there´re only warm and cozy fire places upstairs, if you´re lucky enough to live in a house that´s liberally equipped with stairs that is, but that´s really not important. A dream came true for so many of us Castle lovers, and finally this is all that counts, in the end. Ah, and cows, yeah!

A shiny Happy Birthday on Boys!

No problem. And of course, you don´t need to know everything about photography to make distinct pics of your MOCs. With a correct light setting most point & shoot cameras´re able to deliver good pictures. Instead of a light tent you can get proper results by using a softbox too, and of course you can do it yourself. But be careful, bulbs can get pretty hot...
-
A lightbox or light tent, usually used for a more equilibrated lighting and to minimize reflections by diffusing light. Look here... It´s a pretty cool thing to have such a do-it-yourself light tent, especially with some proper but still inexpensive illumination like you can see on page two (figure 8) of that link above... If you don´t have the room for a fixed setup you can make something more foldable as well, and some moveable lights on cheap tripods or whatever can give you an easy adaptable light source. The chief advantage´s that a system like that allows you to reproduce an useable and standardized lighting situation at any given time while you still can adjust the light according to different demands. A better light´s sometimes more important than a better camera... So... perhaps the best way to go could look like this: 1. Learn about (digital) photography. Buy a book or find some sites like this or that. There´re for sure some forums in your country too. 2. If you think you know enough to go out and buy yourself a new camera, you can find good reviews (and more) here or there. To look at the picture samples there´s also very interesting to proof if you like the overall 'image style' of a certain model. 3. Build yourself a nice environment like in that link for that light tent. Light´s the most important factor. On said site you can find a lot more about photography too. You can find some nice tips here as well. Maybe you should start with this pretty interesting article.

Very neat, especially the design of the stern and the bow looks pretty smooth.
