On smaller ships like a brig the gundeck would be too low to use for cannons. water cold come in quite easily. just read the master and commander book by O'Brian. he wrote that the captains cabin was so low above the water that it couldnt hold cannons there because the gunport would be only 2 feet above the water. I would place the guns on the upper deck, Quarterdeck ..

ai ai. Nice fort. love the angled walls . but i think i would not have the house as a outer wall part. look like a weaker point that. use some laddermen and go in by the window or use cannons to knock the house down instead of the wall. but perhaps you have some sharp shooters on that part of the fort keep the flag high !!

i've been to sweeden for some days now. and in a toy store there they have a cataog that says that the calendar come out in oktober. look like i have to take a trip to sweeden then only 6 h driving

Hi folks. My wishlist isnat about the biggest ships. of course, if there was a goodlooking ship like a 2decker i would buy it . but what i want is more to fill the pirate world. like smugglers, civillians, pirate town sets. just look at the town serie, you have pizza makers. gas stations, houses. and ROADS. I Would like to have some road baseplates like the town have,but with dirt tracks or stone tracks so i can make my own sort of town. Have to be so wide that i can have a horse wagon on it. I also would like a bajonet to fix on my rifles. and smaller cannons, so they can fit in a samller vessel/fort minifig packs of pirates and soldiers, and Civillians.. and kids. smaller lego figs that have feet like the big ones, not the dwarf style but just a smaller copy of the regular minifig. officer uniform for the soldiers, like in the old pirates. Bicorne with white stripes for high ranking officers. some new BURP's not that steep like the old ones but useful for making islands or cliffs without spending a fortune on bricks. elements that fit into the 3 by 10 modul in soldiers fort. (smaller sets that is equal to the plates ( 12 x10) A sort of junction so we can build on one base plate and lay another base plate ontop of the bricks and set it connect them there. and last. something to hang the sabres on for the soldiers. now they have to carry them in one hand. would look nice if my generals have both hands free on a parade wagons, both for horses and for man and for oxes Just got my BB now, just miss the pirates hieout now.

just wonder. how did you do those flags or banners or what to call them in english, do you find them on internet and print them out small? its a huge army you got there, but i think you have to get some more to take the whole world, youll beat my army but it wont be an easy victory :pir-skull: Its summer here, so thats why i havent been here for a loong time. the strategy is there, but as far as i know there is no true evidence that Tordenskjold used it, other than the storys about him. but the idea is old. making the enemy think you have a different number than you really have, like making noise, movements or silence. all to get a effect

got the same kind of answer from lego when i wrote to them, but a while ago i asked in a mail why there was no cows or animals beside a horse , like if someone want to build a farm, all farms would then be with horses and perhaps a dog. and now i see a cow in a set . dont think thats because of me, but what if a developer at lego by a chance read my mail and then he got the idea of the farm set . i like to think that *selfdiggind *

"Tordenskjolds Soldater" is taken fro the siege and battle for Carlsten Fortress in Sweden (1719) where Tordenskjold fooled the Swedish commander to belive that the Norwegian force was much larger by letting a small group of soldiers march in the streets many times . Dont know if this really happen but thats one of the myths about him . Here are my Soldiers

hehe , nice trick. you make people think they would be slaughtered if they take a battle against you and scared them off. just like Tordenskjold did with his men in the war against Sweden

On my wishlist for a new ship is a big ship. like BSB but with 8 cannons. 4 oldstyle( those at present day) and 4 or more smaller cannons like the ones we build for upper deck. would be sooo nice to be able to have a small copy of the cannons we have today :) and when they can made Millennium falcon for star wars they can made a BIG ship for us to imagine two colors (main color of ship) and with some expansion set that would allow us to change the look of the ship, like to make two ships fight each other . But now im dreaming. first i must have the sets that isnt out yet . then ill look for even newer sets

Thanks mr Broadside glad you thought that . there is a big difference between building on a screen and doing it for real i found out . On this pic you can see the galow rope clearly mr Zorro This is the Dark Man. nobody know who he is or were he come from. but ever since they started to execute people at Decastio. HE will be there. He take no payment just wearing his mask and doing the job. either with the rope or with the axe. Not even his boat is known. its like he live on this rock.

It would be terryfying to see and hear but i dont think it would be s effective. not in a staged battle . but coming to siege, ai ai. thats a wall breaker :pir-skull: but a nice cannon

hehe he will never swim in this life. in the first picture you can see the rope with a unpopular knot on directly infront of the pirate. , he has only two ways to get out of there, short drop and a sudden stop , or the axe, he could get a better and faster end if the Dark Man use his axe :)

Hi folks. it take time with me. had some personal problems but now i seen to overcome them. Made a version of the gallow rock now. im missing parts and not qiute sure what more to do with it but here it is as today . And a close up on the last minutes of a unlucky pirate. the Dark man stand by in the background. No one hase seen him without the skeleton mask. the sets you talk about is that soldiers arsenal(8396) last time i went to town (Bodø)they had 30 pieces of that set, and i say again they HAD they are all mine now. and after that i've bought 9 more+ some pirate set( pirate that bbq a fish) and all of that just to feel the happyness of FINALLY geting pirates back. Does anyone know the release dates in Norway or Sweden? or where i can find such a date? Greetings Thundershield

Nice pics. remind me of my own trip there in 2007 . have several pics from the ship and the museum. imagine me, a blue eyed fellow from north Norway om my own in amsterdam looking for the ship, and i found it all the others thought i would get lost I liked the museum as i could get close to cannons and carronades and se details of a ship that i couldnt se in a pic. Hope you to had a nice trip to Amsterdam. liked that city. Thunder

Hi :) that would be a good start at least i just bought 30 soldiers (the arsenal set) just for a start Cant wait to get the rest of the sets.. for some reason the people in the store gave some strange looks after i got the sets into my car i thougt about me buing lego and if i can feel such happiness as i did when i found the new lego,, then it have to be right for me . Yippieyeeee, Pirates are BÆKK hehe one thing S*** and that is S@H on lego . they wont sell to Norway, and the reason they give is that we are not apart of EU, so people from Canada, USA, Australia and other non EU folks, WHAT are you doing right?? hehe

last week i heard the sweet thunder from firing cannons and it is always a noise that make me smile :) great design on the cannon. hope you wont mind if i try to make one or two of them to my own naval shipw . have a nice day thunder

For me it depend on how many i cant get my hands on. if i get only 10-30 men i think thye will end up as a spesial troop, like sharphooters of like that. but since i have a plan of getting ALOT i want to make a special battallion/regiment. something like kings own rifle or whatever the name will be. dont think i will mix them in as officers etc. Because we all know how bad it will be for moral if we removed the old officers and replace them with new ones and last. if you dont know what to do with the old imperial guards, then ill find a place for them in my regiment Bet you havent had that suggestion before

I also liked the rank system he used. but i wanted to keep my men as orginal as i could. i changed face for most of the nco and officers so i could give them names but apart from that i thought that oficers are like this soldiers(like pi062)---->low officers(like pi065)----->high rank officer(like pi074) and then i added white epaulette and made a 4. level Generals . and since i like keeping the epaulettes in the same color for the same kind of force i changed the colors of the low and high officers.
