  1. As per request... slightly more true to blacktron 1. I don't really know. lol. I thought it made him look angry or fierce or scared...
  2. I would go with the mechanic torso lightningtiger suggested if you already have some on hand. I do like the look of this torso... the paper in the pocket is a nice touch. i think the field examiner should be somewhat like a reporter or journalist looking character obviously with a camera. bricklink part
  3. This is just great! I remember seeing this on TBB last year and was amazed by it then. I'm a sucker for anything in various states of decay or ruin... As the others have noted, the technique and look achieved with the exposed brick under the concrete is fantastic, and i love that the lines are so simple and clean. nice work!
  4. my take on blacktron 3. Like most everyone I loved the revamped blacktron 1 torso the minute i saw it... and my mind began racing with ideas for a new blacktron 3. I painted the SP3 helmet black on the figure on the left to get the right blacktron feel. Hope you like them! adam
  5. Thanks for the compliments! Yeah indiana, they do sit fairly high. I had to get rid of the fig's back oxygen tanks to make the helmet fit as low as possible.(new pics added in the sci-fi forum)
  6. Nice revamp ricecracker! you have done a great job capturing the feel of the original while updating it for 6 wide world! I actaully really like the design of the bike too!
  7. that abandoned shack is really great! (i'm a sucker for overgrowth and ruins...) and the detail you have packed in to the switches in the signal house is also impressive. can't wait to see the complete layout! I wish i had 25ft to play with! (jealous)
  8. Glad you guys like it! Thanks sok117, that's the look I was going for! I should have another up soon...
  9. couldn't resist painting one of the SP3 helmets black and trying this out... Blacktron 3 adam
  10. Thanks for the compliments everyone, glad you like it! lol. you are correct piratedave, unfortunately it can only fit one minfig... and only if his hat is off!
  11. A simple side-by-side ATV I designed for my town's forestry division. hope you like it! adam
  12. I have two designed if they would be of any help... cheers! adam
  13. This is coming along nice 'tiger and it has the potential to be great with all the suggestions and possibilities. On the smaller scale, I don't know if there is any grass New Mannum but perhaps you could include for sale a ride on lawnmower like the one in the poly-bag released last year. lawn tractor
  14. Great work Selander! First off I must say I completely understand your "multiple-mood right now". I spend hours revising and altering models in both CAD and actual bricks before I'm ever happy with a final colour scheme. The multiple cabs in different colours is a great solution and as mentioned already, an original and uncommon idea! One suggestion might be to add some sort of straps or even chains to secure the load... I wouldn't want those beautiful cabs falling off the trailer when the driver takes a sharp turn
  15. This is a very interesting concept Daniel. I completely understand your reasoning behind this project... trains/monorails require a fairly large space for good incorporation into a city. This is a great idea from Tom Bricks, and was exactly what I thought of as well when I saw your idea. The set with the cable car is number 4852, the final showdown keep us updated on your progress!
  16. Just saw the completed trucks, figs, and station house on flickr. Great work Ricecracker, a truly impressive build!
  17. i say throw an old couch outback and maybe a barbecue
  18. Hinckley had some light gray cylindrical tanks in his brewery... but i believe they were 8 wide. hinckley brewing co
  19. Excellent Build! 8 wide isn't really my thing as it doesn't fit in size wise with what I build... but this is a great looking truck! I like the attention to details such as the opening doors, wipers, front lights, and that grill. The entire truck has a nice clean sleek look to it! well done
  20. Nice work Ricecracker! This looks very true to the actual units! The company I know that manufactures these little guys is known as "trackless". I created a LDD version some time ago (you can see it on my moc pages) but yours uses more complicated techniques and definitely looks better. good stuff!
  21. Good point space6901! I guess the width of a vehicle is usually dependent on the context... If a builder is pure "classic town" they are most likely going to be sticking with 4 wide vehicles with little differentiation between cars and trucks etc. If you are building vehicles to be incorporated into the "larger" newer city style then 4, 5, 6 wide, or even larger would fit nicely, and different widths could be seamlessly incorporated together.
  22. I too struggle with the width of my vehicles. I like to add as much detail as I can but still want them to look like they have an accurate scale. I thought perhaps showing off a MOC in 3 different sizes might be beneficial to this thread... so I created an LDD version of a typical police car in multiple scales. I'm unsure my self of what size I like best, but the 6 wide definitely allows for more detail. I tend to build trucks and suv's in 6 wide, and often will extend the chassis to 7 wide. (if we consider the addition of the "mud guard" piece these models again change in size) Cars are more of a pain because by general rule they "should" be smaller than a truck... but this is very limiting. Hopefully these pictures are helpful in this ongoing debate! cheers, adam 4 WIDE 5 WIDE 6 WIDE And some comparison shots
  23. looking good! I bet the towns people of New Mannum are eagerly awaiting the new roads... (I'm thinking a massive road work construction scene is in order showing off this "ground breaking" day for the town)
  24. Nice work lightningtiger! and congrats on being front paged too! This is my favourite New Mannum building yet... it is more "MOC" than "MOD" and you have packed quite a bit of detail and playability into it. The latest version with side walls and batteries looks great, and really shows how your designs/ building style keeps improving. I'm a conformist!
  25. Nice work! I was in Ottawa last week for winterlude and saw a few of these buses, you have captured the look well! As Prateek already said, nice work on those decals... I especially like the out of service sign board on the front with the wheelchair accessible logo. I have a bus designed in CAD ready to be brick built too, but am still struggling with this cost issues (don't have any "extra" money for lego)... But it's always nice to see other peoples LDD models come to form.
