SP3 blacktron torso decal

done and done... -
Another great truck! I love all the details, very true to life. Did you have to disassemble the first truck to make this beauty? because they would look great together!

Nice work once again LT. These pay-as-you-go toilets are not as popular in Canadain cities... but I saw them everywhere when traveling in europe. Yours looks like an accurate reproduction. I love the detail of the sliding door, and that interior looks nice too.

here you go Zenox. I loved that show as a kid. i'm new to this custom decal thing so let me know what you think...

First attempt at making a torso decal... Trying to amount a large quantity of blacktron 3 figs, but don't want to pay the bricklink prices for this torso so thought i would try making up a reproduction. feel free to use it for whatever you like, you can find it on my flickr stream for download. adam

I don't think it's possible to pick a "best spaceship ever released". Obviously it's based on personal opinion and varies based on context. One's age, what they grew up with, how they define good design, nostalgic value, size, and what they consider the qualities of "the best" all play a factor. Obviously ships from the classic space range like the already posted galaxy explorer, cosmic fleet voyager, and galactic mediator, are all ships I would rank amongst the best. I would also include the galaxy commander (below) on my short list. Oddly enough, I do agree that the ice planet deep freeze defender is without a doubt one the "best" ships. Its modular design, play features, colour scheme, and it's galaxy commander reminiscent styling all give it big awesomeness points. However I have to say that my all time favourite spaceship was blacktron II's Allied Avenger. The ship was the perfect swooshable size, had a great colour scheme, modular cockpit, and that great X-foil wing design I loved as a big childhood star wars fan.

this is just great! I have been waiting for this news... The tram / coach bus are nice for an official set, but I have seen better MOC's of both these vehicles out there and would probably be modding them. Also a little sad that the idea of a monorail reissue is pretty much out of the question now. Oh well, will most likely still be picking this one up!

This is super cool! I love the front end and the working suspension is a nice feature. Great work Piotr!

Very cool M'Kyuun! Your truck retains the feel of the original city vehicle and effectively manages to capture the look of a futuristic rugged rover. I especially love the modular unit on the rear for carrying the cargo... it looks like they could swap the configuration depending on what they are delivering.

nice clean moc /mod AllanSmith! It stays true to the official set and looks like something TLG could actually produce. I especially like how you covered up the holes in the front and rear sections of the tanks with ladders and the hose cabinets.
-
Good stuff Lt! This is coming along nice The first floor is excellent and packed with many nice details. It has a very realistic feel. I was also wondering this. Perhaps some windows or detailed brick (like the things we see on the modular building line) work would enhance this section. Maybe even a lamp post out front too.Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Fantastic review of a fantastic set! Your review brings back fond memories of my childhood. My cousin had this when we were younger, and all I ever wanted to do was play "town" lego when we got together just to play with this set. (He always liked space/pirates and i always thought it was sooo unfair that he had this epic town set when I was the town fan and he clearly liked the fantasy themes better) thanks for reviewing this classic!

Nice work zenn, this is my favourite of the series so far! Great parts usage all around!

thank goodness the batteries died! finally a day without new pictures/ MOC's from lightningtiger... just joking of course! can't wait to see the updates!
-
These are great! it's all been said... agreed The detail is amazing and that pin is totally throwing me off with so much detailing in these figs i really don't get this decision... still a must buy though.
-
that was my question But we do have these shops in all the provinces, not just BC...
-
Well said, and you have achieved it! This is so simple yet so clever... the mixing of themes just make me smile

This is nice! Very compact and... complete! Like Lord Arjay, this is my favourite of your buildings so far. I love that you have started to use more bricks in your buildings, and are starting to "enclose" them more. This looks like it could easily be part of a smaller country town. Nice attention to details too! I like that sliding door and the internal pillars.

stop building already! nice work again LT... you seem to be turning out new MOC's every day! does the rear hatch open? just as a thought, most of these types of van's (in Canada since i don't live in Australia) have split opening rear doors. I think I would change the rear to include opening doors, or at least swap that 4 wide window and plates for two 2 wide pieces to give the simulated look of a split rear door. keep em coming!

That looks nice mania, and great photography! The legs are actaully the ones that come with the torso in the sp3 set. (as seen in mania's pic above). I just took a slight bit of nail-polish remove to the chain and skull details and carefully removed them. Thanks for the kind words everyone! adam

how did i forget about that...it would work for sure! I think selanders 3177s represent the entire possible spectrum if you're trying to think of colour options.
-
Good stuff dr_spock! I really like the hood section of that truck, and the trailer looks very functional! If the parts allow you should put some alternate coloured 3177's on there.
-
Thanks again for the latest compliments! I was trying to keep it as simple and clean as possible while trying to accurately represent the real deal. I'm glad you think I succeeded!
