  1. This is just fantastic Ralph! It is great to finally see all these MOCs together showcased in one brilliant setting! As Rick commented, that train looks new to me too, and it would be nice to see some closer shots of it. Can't wait to see what updates you create, Keep up the inspiring work!
  2. This looks great! It will fit in perfectly with classic town feel of City Corner! As much as I enjoy the modular series of buildings, the costs keep me away... these "city" buildings are far more reasonable and I quite enjoy them even though they may lack the realism of the modular sets. Can anyone make out what the fig in the yard is doing, or what he is standing behind? -thanks for the link castle fan!
  3. Great job on this! The new darker octan colour scheme is a nice twist on a classic, and I'm loving the look of that trailer and the details you have packed in.
  4. Welcome Chad! Glad to see another Canadian on the site. I too am still fairly new to the site... but if you need a hand with anything feel free to ask and I can try to help you out! cheers adam
  5. That Stihl is great! Easily recognizable and with such great parts usage it's definitely one of the best mini-fig chainsaws. This entire project is fantastic, and I'm eagerly awaiting seeing it completed!
  6. This has a great classic town feel to it Widdi! I too build digital models frequently, so I can appreciate the time and design you put into this. The set reminds me of a hostel I stayed in during a recent trip to Switzerland, complete with bar/club on lower level! I must admit, being from Canada, I have never heard of a Schirmbar... but after a bit of research on the net I'm thinking they are basically gazebos/beer tents!
  7. Great Thread! I'm a little pull-back and go racer called "Night Blazer". Cool set name... but not really what I'm into. nothing backwards.
  8. You know you're from canada when you get excited for a skier mini-fig! lol But in all seriousness, both series 1 and 2 will bring us some astounding new figures and rest assured like the rest of you, I will be spending quite a few dollars on picking up these packs.
  9. Really liking the look of the 7939 Cargo Train. I have been holding out on buying one of the previously released cargo trains as i don't really have the space for it... but these pics are starting to get me excited. I love all the accessories! That overhead crane, the flat bed with "smart" cars, the red transport truck, the extra shipping containers! Being from Canada though, I would have like to have seen an engine more in line with the BNSF 10133. Oh well... still on the potential shopping list for this season! Thanks TLG!
  10. I completed my undergrad at McMaster, and I'm currently completing a masters degree at the University of Waterloo.
  11. Didn't draw the avatar unfortunately... I have been using it for years on mocpages, just found it on the net one day while looking up dimensions of mini-figs to make a Halloween costume. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!
  12. Nice little truck you have got there lightningtiger! I really like the way 3179 looks in white, and I like your solution for adding the controls to the cherry-picker bucket. (maybe I will add one to mine ) Did you try adding a 4th cupboard or set of drawers on the side with only 1? I think it might look nice. ( I don't know where the barricades would go though...) adam
  13. Wow! I actually checked classic-town before I saw your post on eurobricks and was treated to a nice surprise, Thanks Rick! And thanks, everyone else for the positive comments, glad you like it! adam
  14. Thanks GC8Monkey! I actually wanted to build a white utility truck with green and blue stripes similar to the units used by BC hydo... but I couldn't not use those yellow stickered bricks with the hydro logos on my moc. The yellow with orange striping is actually based off the colour of the trucks where i live, so i guess it worked out!
  15. Thanks for the positive comments everyone! As for the design, the truck is not really based off anything in particular. The front end and cab is essentially a copy of the 7686 helicopter transport truck... I wanted the truck to look realistic while retaining playability! adam
  16. Hi everyone! This is my first moc to be posted to eurobricks... This truck is based off the new 3179 repair truck. I like the set, but felt it could use some work. My new truck is more representative of a typical hydro utility truck as seen here in Ontario. The model features opening doors, hood, and compartments, stabilizers that lower to support the truck, a fully functional boom with bucket that can rotate 360 degrees, and a variety of tools, accessories, and warning pylons/barriers. The truck can fit two workers. (sorry about the poor quality of the photos... more posted on mocpages) Comments and feedback are greatly appreciated! cheers, adam
  17. Hi everyone! Have followed the site for years (finally joined last year)... but this is my first post! I'm a university student from Ontario, Canada. Being a student, most of my creations are of the digital variety, but when funds and time allow I do create some actual mocs. I have been posting on mocpages for some time, and many of my creations can be seen there... Favourite theme is city / town. Excited to finally be in on the action and not just lurking around the site! adam update: first moc posted in town forum.
