  1. Hello, I decided to post a project I've been working on with a friend of mine over at BZP for over a year now: the Battle for Mora-Nui. Mora-Nui is an amateur animated series done entirely by us. I am the grahpic artist; all the art in the recent episodes was done by me. Please note that the art in episodes 1-5 was NOT done by me; I volunteered my skills after that. We are working on producing one episode every one to two months this year (The delays are mostly my fault :-X) Fall of last year, I built and hosted a website, which can be found here: http://odysseyhouseonline.com/MoraNuiIndex.html This was origionally an entirely BZP production. However, due to the solid fact that the higher the quality something is on BZP the fewer the people that pay attention to it, we have mutally decided to branch out and display our work on other forums :) So, if you have a few minutes to kill, visit the website and take a look around. Episode 10 will be up on the website soon (until then, you can view it here: http://www.maj.com/gallery/Dude-Toa/Movies...mora-nui_10.gif BE CAREFUL, THIS FILE MAY SERIOUSLY LAG YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU HAVE OTHER RAM-SUCKING THINGS GOING!) Episode 10 and what I have seen of the WIP Episode 11 are excellent, IMHO. For Episode eleven, we have upgraded to new figure art ( You can see one of the new kits I made Here.) It should be noted that I have done all the graphix in MSPaint - No more advanced programs were used at all at any point in the making of any of these episodes. Dude Toa does the animating (quite well now, I might add) and the storyline; Im just the graphix guy. We will be re-working 1-5 when we can and I will be reworking the videos with sound ASAP. Please enjoy our work - (T'is a labor of love, as they say!) - and let us know what you think :) - The Admiral PS: I will be editing this into a more "official" post at a later date... rather tired, right now.
  2. Aye, its good, though I stil lhave trouble identifying it as real Bionicle music... Old habits die hard, I guess :P
  3. What I meant was that the date on Andy's post is TODAY, AND I found it "bumped" - Its not like I just stumbled across and old post.
  4. Let me get this straight... ... You join EB, I get snippy with you. We take it to PM's, I explain and apologize. You go and do something stupid and get yerself banned, and now you have nothing better to do then spend all your time evading the ban and insultin' a music genre that many of us like. Yeah, yer a real winner there, dude. So um, can someone tell me how he can still post?
  5. I have always believed in the Do Unto Others rule. It truly is the Golden Rule, and I try to live by it every day. However, in my honest opinion, Greg Farshtey has already "Done Unto" me, and I treat him as I feel he has treated me and all ol' Browncoats like m'self. Oh, and I know the "hack" comment was aimed at me ;) I feel that GregF is just that: A comic book writer. He should really have left the writing of what deserved to be an in-depth MYTHOLOGY to someone who could actually write it. Dozens of organizations with hundreds of uber-powrful people means nothing; its the characters that make the story. Greg Farshtey CANNOT write interesting characters, and has managed to make once-interesting characters bland. I watch the Anime series Bleach (And I dont even like anime) Because it has an interesting story, intersting characters, and interesting powers. The BIONICLE story seems to be vaguely-biomechanical beings fighting a barely comprehensible war, the characters are flat and bland (as can be seen by the fact that their set bios have NOTHING on their personalities anymore - just powers) and the powers are comical at best, stupid at worst. A Rock/Lightning mix? Gimme a break. Jus' my 0.07. P.S.: WHOOO! QUOTE ADAPTION TIME: GregF: "You're fighting a war that you've already lost." 2001ers: "Yeah, well, we're known for that." - Adapted from "Serenity"
  6. Nice hornblower reference ;) And, excellent ship! Oh, and, yes, the girls got me to this thread :) I do believe that counts as cheating.
  7. Hah! I love reading your posts, KMOI :) - Helden
  8. Greg could have just said, "Dont look now, but it gets a WHOLE lot worse!" Lovely. By "Breaking The Mold" he definetly means something horrible that will forever **** on our memories of BIONICLE >_> But maby, just maby, i'll be miraculously proven wrong! :-|
  9. Aye, the real Greggers wouldnt come here - Leastwise, not without Bonesii to act as Greggers Advocate.
  10. Heh, lets see if the kids from 2006 start bitching about these on many of the same scores I have with recent BIONICLE's :P
  11. Just remember to type "Kapura" (I forget if its with or without caps) on any loading screen. It enters the games debug mode -you can tell its on if a framerate counter comes up on the bottom of the game screen - and just press the number "8" any time you hit a glitch - It usually works.
  12. The Torso is the Jungle/Desert only adventurer Harry Cane.
  13. Bley: Bane of Castle Fans Yes, I know :P
  14. No. He doesnt have an AK-47. Rather, he has a GIANT FREAKIN' CHAINGUN! But then, its understandable he would want to look like what hes seen in Unreal Tournament: In short, he does, for all intents and purposes, have an AK-47 T_T.
  15. Jinzo, you are my hero. Excellent post! BOO-YEAH! I BEAT JINZO AT SOMETHIN'! :p
  16. I will have you know that, as a part of my revamped Toa Metru saga, the Toa have commandeered a 'Cityship", ie, a massive airship once meant to house the entire population of its home Metru before it was replaced with a newer design. Multiple newer City Ships have, of course, given persuit. Furthermore, assuming I get the time/production materials, I hope to turn this into the first episode-based BIONICLE Stop-Motion with professionally finished "sets" for the actual Bionicle sets to interact in. (I'm just that cool of a model builder :P) So, I have giant ships flying far over Metru Nui doing battle on one another. This would lead you to ask, "How is that not just Bionicle in space, essentially?" Because its not, and I would probably have to shoot myself if Bionicle ever DID get expanded into space. Unlike most people here, I like both the unique technological feel of Metru-Nui AND the tribal/maori feel of Mata-Nui. Since large airships have always been a part of the Metru Nui universe, I have simply decided to take it and run. But, JohnSocal, next years theme is going to come close enough.... @Gravy Train: I do not think it needs a complete reboot - Perhaps just a partial reboot around 2004 with Greg off the team and banished from any Lego property and replaced by a council of Templar (the guys who did MNOLG) story peeps headed up by Bob Thompson. Then, hire Justin Luchter and Nathan Furst (Justin did the MNOLG music and Nathan did the Movie music) to do ALL the Bionicle music (What the hell were they thinking with that poor Piraka Rock/Rap crap!?) Lastly, fire the complete numbskulls who designed the 2005+ sets (Hollow torsos? Frog-Masks? Bubble-Heads? What the crap?) and replace them with someone competant. Just my rantin' 0.07 :)
  17. In that case, about 42 angels have lost their wings by now.... ;)
  18. This topic is for the revamp of the basic universe setting that I had origionally layed out LAST year - the Archipalego. This here is simply a mythos that I am writing for my own enjoyment and that any and all can use with THEIR Lego Pirates if they so desire. The Online Role Playing Game idea was "Pirates of the Archipaelgo: The Pirate Throne" or something along those lines. The point was was that after this basic outline was established, we would establish a forum-based RPG that would allow members of the Pirates community to effect the future of the Archipalego with MoCs and Stories. As for the Pillar of Autumn, yes, it is a big space ship. In the first level of Halo you escape it as it crash-lands on the Halo Ring Installation, and in the last level you blow it up and take all of Halo with it. Furthermore, the "In Amber Clad" is another spaceship in Halo 2 which, to the best of my knowlage, gets rammed into a very, very large building. This Pirates story has NOTHING to do with halo - I simply named the ships that in dedication to my favorite videogame-fiction universe and my very favorite FPS.
  19. @Jinzo: Send the red mask to me and I can remove those eye things in such a way that you'll never know they were there.... ... or arent you one for modifying/painting parts? :P
  20. So, am I the only still thinking along the lines of these being orange/white/green/black garbage...?
  21. On the topic of storylines, I must say my peace - Storylines in LEGO themes are, by themselves, NOT inherently evil. The way they should be done is the way they WERE done for most of the 90's, and even how Bionicle 2001 was done - The basic plot and characters are layed down and the scene set for you to play in. This is the kind of theme I like because I can then build on it. The kind of theme I dont like is current Bionicle: Quite literally everything has (poorly) been accounted for by GregF, and every little action of the Toa is now written out in the books. Its. Annoying. Anyhoo, just my 0.07.
  22. @Phes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_%28video_game_series%29 @Torden: Currently, I am writing it all myself. If someone would like to step forward with their ideas/discuss stuff, jus' drop me a PM or message me on AIM/MSN :)
