Toyfair 2007 Bionicle Set Images
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn replied to JINZONINGEN73's topic in LEGO Action Figures
No, my point was the downward-spiral-trend of "collectable" names. The Squid Ammo dont even HAVE a fancy name, Cordak Blaster sounds lame, and "Zamor" sounds like it should've been out of some 50's Space-Sci-Fi comic starring Spurt Hammond. -

Whatever. Im on board with the "Our heroes make our villians look heroic!" comment. It doesnt matter what a Hero looks like - all that matters is that he/she give the IMPRESSION of a hero. The Mata did this. The Nuva did this (to an extent... gorram ugly masks). The Metru did this. The Hordika were meant to look rahi-ish, so I forgive them. The Inika could have if they hadnt given them ugly mutant masks. These guys just look THEY should be the villians, or at least berzerk sea rahi or something! -

Poor miniature for some crappy game...: Toa Mahri ^^^^^^^^^^ See the similarity? Yup. In short, these guys make the Toa Inika look good. They appear to have realised that the Inika looked like some kind of mutated cross between frogs and aliens, so dropped the frog part and went entirely for alien. Basically, I just wish Lego would make Toa that looked like Toa, not like mutated monsters. The giant plastic weapons are cheesy and the chainguns are despicable. It is extremely hard for me to come up with praise for these guys. -

Wonderful swordfight (stopmo)
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn replied to Kahgarak's topic in LEGO Action Figures
My only gripe with his animation style it is that it is so freakishly fast... Faster then a real swordfight, really :P -
Im guessing that dude doesnt design Legos sets anymore, which might explain why up until this years castle theme, its all pretty much SUCKED.

VERY well done! Thats *proper* BIONICLE stop motion :) -
I'd be all for Exo-Force if they hadnt decided "LAWL, LET US ARE MAKE IT ANIMEZ!!11" Of course, this may be my rather bigoted opinoin because other then Bleach I pretty much hate all anime.

Yarr - Its complicated now, but as Greg would say, its a "living breathing world". Apparently he never heard of the KISS principle.
-
Allright, in a nutshell... Greg Came, Greg Saw, Greg had Vezon smash Toa Matoro headfirst into a wall. (No, I cant get over that head/wall smashing thing for the life of me :P)

BIONICLE: Rewritten
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn replied to Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Another thing I would like to clear up: My 'Verse here DOES have Violence, and a fair bit of it. The difference is is that unlike the current official 'Verse, I do my best to play it and portray it in an origional and interesting way. We have Toa weilding vast elemental powers here doing battle against twisted Fell Seekers using Kirau "magic". I try to think in the most epic way possible. What is cooler: A villian picking up a Toa of Ice and ramming him head-first into a wall, or a villian throwing an arc of electricity at him which he nimbly dodges. As the Ice Toa prepares to return fire, the arc meant for him smashes a building to rubble before arcing back up and flying at the Ice Toa again - and so the battle continues. I put far more thought into my battles then simple "hack and slash", and try to take advantage of all of the combatants various powers and abilities. -
2001-2003 starred the Toa Mata who turned into Toa Nuva in late 2002. In late 2003, Takua the Matoran became Takanuva, Toa of Light. 2004-2005 was a "Flashback" storyline starring the Turaga, when they were Toa and later Toa Hordika. 2006-2007 has starred the Inika who turn Mahri. The Inika are Toa made out of six Matoran from the first 3 years.

G'day, It has intruiged me that here on EB, there are a number of people who, while they with me on my views of Greg Farshtey and the BIONICLE storyline, really like the Toa Inika sets. I for one hate the gorram things. Giant peices, solid yet still poor construction, horrible blob-heads, and above all hideous masks made me think more of "frogs and aliens dumped in a vat of battery acid that then got microwaved" then Toa of legend. So, I thought i'd start a topic to discuss the high and low points of these sets, and what makes people like/dislike them. Y'know... for discussions sake :P
