  1. This is a really nice brig. I like the cannons for the forchasers and I like the big British flag in the back. The only thing I would change is that I would put brown instead of black underneath the gun ports but, that is a small thing. I also really like the way you did the window galleries. They look very nice and the rigging is also a big plus. Keep up the good work.
  2. Thanks for the nice feedback. Yes I am using all 8 midsections. I was able to space the cannons 6 studs apart to make it more authentic and I was able to fit a main battery of 18 guns on the main gun deck and about 10-14 guns on the upper decks. It will be awhile before I get back to it as I have some other projects that are taking up my time and money but, I hope to get back to it in a few months. I was wondering if there is another way to make the ship look a little rounder and the sides just go straight up. I have thought about using Captain Green Hair's method for tilting the sides inward but I am not sure how sturdy that is. Anybody have any suggestions?
  3. I really like this. I think my favorite part is the pirate wench that is giving a grrr face with the lipstick. That is great.
  4. I certainly wouldn't mind getting that mug but then, I already have really nice pirate mug and I don't have a lot of money.
  5. Here is my first pirate set. I still have it and I still really like it even though it is small.
  6. Really nice fort. I like the rounded tower and the beach with the dock. I also like the skeleton laying there in the sand. I would put in some red or tan on the fort to make it look a little more dirty but, other than that it is great.
  7. Very nice. I like the rocks and the detail that you put onto the building. The side panaling and the door look very nice. Really nice MOC.
  8. I really like this fort. The cave is my favorite part and I also like the hideout with the cannon behind the skull. The pirate wench captain is a great idea too.
  9. Yeah, your right but it still has been done. Queen Anns Revenge though was a slave trader not a frigate so it would have been slow moving and the extra cannons would have made it more so. However, a fully armed frigate would be a pirates dream and I have no doubts that any pirate wouldn't mind getting a hold of one if they had the chance. And besides who wouldn't want to turn a Imperial Flagship or a Frigate into a pirate ship.
  10. I really like this ship. The stern is great and I also like how you did the planking. The sails are really nice and the rigging is fabulous. Great MOC ship.
  11. You could also do what I did to my Imperial Flagship; by doubling the size and integrating the cabin into the hull you could build a frigate. I like the bow chasers. They are so cool. I would also like to see someone put a pair of cannons on the stern right around where the headlamps are.
  12. Yeah I know that I should probably change the name baby I should do Queen Bricks Revenge. Anyway since I have been on this website I have been seeing more and more people like Captain Green Hair make these awsome frigates so I decided to finally make one of my own. I had purchased two of the 10210 Imperial Flagship and I decided to combine them and make a frigate out of them. So here are some of the pictures of the ship in progress. Any advice or constructive criticism would be appreciated. I am pretty sure I have the mast placement correct and it is going to have about 28-32 guns so that is about the right amount of cannons. I don't know how I will do all of the rigging but I am going to add tile and I am going to fully rig it. I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions about what materials to use for the sails. I will be deeplinking the pictures on Brickshelf so it may be a day or two before they are made public. Enjoy. Here is an over view of the ship. Here is the stern. Here is the bow which is yet unchanged from the kit. And here is a shot showing the mast placement.
  13. I have to agree that you should put the mermaid on the list. Even though I am not a big fan of them myself I would put her in just because she does count as at least half of a minifigure and she is very unique. And my absolute favorite addition of the minifigure line was the new admiral. He is just so cool. I also like the personality that they put into the cook and on the admirals daughter that came with the IFS.
  14. Good idea for a topic. I would have to say that my absolutly favorite element was the shooting cannons since I really hadn't had those before. My second would be the new admirals coat and my third favorite would be the new hulls for the bow. I love how they are modular and how there is now window on the bow.
  15. In case you haven't noticed when Lego did this the last time it didn't help their bottom line much. When mega bloks started lowering their quality control the pieces wouldn't fit together and even the kids didn't buy them. I remember when Megabloks had a bigger section in the toy store than Lego and now it is the opposite because Lego is making better quality parts. So again, why would Lego do this.
  16. This is manipulation of photagraphy. You forgot to include the thousands and thousands of redcoats that are up against the few hundred blue coats. Ah well, it doesn't matter because all of the blue coats got massecred in the end. :pir-skull:
  17. I like it although I would raise the boat or just eliminate it. Other than that it looks great.
  18. Very nice harbor. I like how you arranged it. I definatly want to do something similer now. I also like how you put the extra mast on the BSB. That looks much nicer. The only thing I didn't like about the BSB was that it was a brig and now I think it looks just perfect.
  19. I am totally going to do what you did with the gold windows. That is so perfect. The white just clashed but the gold looks awsome. I am also going to do something similer with the gun ports on my ship as well. I also like what you did with the railing. If I may ask how much did it cost you to make those modifications. I am going to do something similer and I would like to know how much that costs.
  20. I thought that you might want to connect the entire cabin assembly directly to the hull-stern piece instead of raising it up with all of those black pieces underneath the cabin floor. Oh, and I totally disagree with Ivan on all pirate ships being small. Blackbeard had a 40 gun frigate and Black Bart also had a 36 gun frigate. Captain Kid had a special war galleon made for him as he started out as a commisioned privateer to hunt pirates and Henry Morgan had a rather large ship as well. And besides, big fancy pirate ships are much more impressive and inspiring than little, small, insignificant pirate ships are. P.S. I hadn't notice the railing that you put on the main deck. That looks awsome and I would really like to see the stern with the new brown plates.
  21. Really well done. I like the window gallery on the stern and I really like the sails and rigging. I also like the overall shape of the ship and the red flaps for the gun ports is a great idea. Really nice ship.
  22. Now there is a way to get around you none-international US seller problem. Good luck with your ship. Hope you enjoy.
  23. Being here in the US I can say that the reasons are probably that it costs more for shipping, there is a higher risk of losing the package in the mail or something being damaged, and it takes longer to receive the package. Since obviously the US has such a large market people in the US don't usually buy things internationally and so they don't have a lot of experience in shipping items internationally. Also they probably don't relate to your problem of not being able to get something in your country (except for advent callendars ). I would think that would be the main problem. As being a Lego collector before wide use of the internet I can sempathize with you problem. Hope that this answers you question.
  24. You can always stretch out the length and put more guns on the deck. I don't think that outside of spending thousands of dollars you are going to get several brick-built 74s so I would just stick to the hulls made by Lego. If you look around the MOC forum you will see several methods for using the new hulls found the Brick Beards Bound so I would check out those designs. Hope that this helps.
  25. I have to say that this is one of my favorite castles. Even though I have never owned one I do have the Royal Knights Castle and that is very similer in terms of the color scheme and overall feel of the set. I also really liked you review of the set and I really enjoyed all of the pictures that you provided of the minifigures and the back of the beautiful set. Thank you for such a good review of one of the best Castles Lego ever produced.
