  1. I have to disagree with a lot of people about the interior. If you used slope pieces for the sides that would make a wierd upside down stairway for walls and if you tried to compensate for that you would have no room inside so I think that they did okay for that. Also the set contains almost 800 pieces so I don't feel that using the baseplate was a real bad move. Personally I think that for Lego's very first Egyptian Pyramid I am very impressed. Hopefully we will see some more sets in this theme like we are with atlantis.
  2. I plan to but, I want to wait for brickshelf.com to clear my pictures first. I had some problems the last time I tried to deeplink so, I just want to wait to be on the safe side.
  3. I just uploaded a ton of pictures of the big pyramid set on brickshelf.com and I will be posting them sometime tomorrow along with my first review.
  4. I know that I have not posted much lately but, I just got the main pyramid and I am hoping to post some pictures either tonight or tomorrow.
  5. Lego will most likely release the sets in early January. I talked to a clerk at my local Lego shop and she gave me the store calandar for December. The new Pharaoh's Quest theme is mentioned but, only as a teaser and it states that that theme along with the new Police, Star Wars, Space, and Ninjago themes will all be released in early January.
  6. That is a really big assumption. Lets see Lego is coming out with a new exclusive for that theme next year and the theme has sold very well, at least in my area, and it is way to soon to soon to even guess whether or not there will be new kingdoms sets next year. By the way, I remember seeing some kind of hint for new dragon sets on one of the lego online pages in their kingdoms section of the products page so I highly doubt that the line will be ending in just a year or so.
  7. Great pictures. I wonder if he is working for the navy or is in some kind of official capacity. I also wonder what happened to his leg. The way Barbossa has his eyes closed also makes me wonder if he is blind as well.
  8. Well neither World Racers or Prince of Persia were very successful as far as I can remember. Also, neither World Racers nor Prince of Persia were not generic, legit action themes. World Racers was more of an action sports kind of theme rather than an action theme. Prince of Persia also wasn't an action theme but, was a movie licensed theme that wasn't very successful past 2 months, at least as far as I could see in my local area anyway. And lets not forget that Atlantis is going to have a third wave next year and this Pharaoh's Quest is kind of an egyptian vesion of that so I think that we could get some more sets next summer.
  9. I don't want to minimod but, this topic has nothing to do with NinjaGo or the old ninja sets. It has to do with ancient egypt. I was curious by some of your postings whether or not you had even seen the new egyptian sets. Back on topcic. I was wondering if Lego might even make a larger egyptian set. It looks to me as if this theme could continue on for a while and since the most expensive is only $70 would it be possible that Lego might be planning to release more sets in the summber of 2011 like they did with atlantis?
  10. I would love to see an egyptian theme like what Playmobil did and I would really like to see an aztec them. I mean having the temples and fortresses and stuff would be really cool. I know that the ancients theme for Playmobil has been a big seller so, I don't see why Lego couldn't do something similar.
  11. I really hope that they come out with a bigger Atlantis temple set that has more columns. I was thinking that they came out with an atlantis set in January this year that was in that price range and then they came out with the Portal of Atlantis set which is in the $100 range so, I do think there is a chance that they might.
  12. Good topic. I would have to say that the adventurers ,particularly the egypt and amazon subthemes, are my favorite. I am really excited about the new egyptian theme but, I will pass judgement until I have the sets in hand. The Indiana Jones sets were good but, they somehow felt incomplete to me. I think that it was the fact that they only made ,for the most part, the interiors of the temples and never the entire temple. Atlantis is okay but, I really hate the subs for that theme. P.S. It would be great if we had a poll to go along with your topic.
  13. Well I have to say that I think it is rather foolish and silly of the Lego company to be spending it's resources on such a rediculous lock-down rant on it's preliminary pictures. I mean really. Software, and electronic companies have to keep this kind of information secret about their compunter chip designs so that they don't get copied by their competitors but, Lego doesn't have any real serious competitors out side of a very few and small bootleg companies that nobody, not even the Lego fans, like so why bother. It would be much smarter for the Lego company to take advantage of the "free" advertising on the web and just expect and plan for the new images coming out in the retailer catalogs. Now that being said about the generic sets I could see the Lego company getting a little nervous about the Disney licensed sets coming out because of the potential for plot points being revealed but, even then I think the Lego company could do much better than this. The rule of thumb in dealing with the web is "don't allow the information to be released at all until you're ready".
  14. They have a way higher resolution than the other pictures. Also there are clear pictures of the box art.
  15. Yes could someone please post those pictures again. I didn't even get the chance to see any of them.
  16. Why would it be silly. I like the new mold. It destinguishes the pharaoh's headdress from the regular grunts headdress. Great for making Lego Egyptian armies.
  17. Well I have to say that in part I agree but, in part I disagree. Everybody has different opinions and I can see yours but, I personally like to just mod my sets. I hated the old Lego swords so I went to brickarms.com. I also disliked the new bucket helmets so, I went to brickforge and bought theirs. I did not particularly like all of the Indiana Jones sets so I did not get them all. While I would prefer a historically accurate set to what we have here I will say that I still see a lot of potential in this theme. And another thing I want to point out. Neither the Lego pyramid or the Playmobil pyramid are really accurate in terms of what the actually pyramids would have looked like. The real pyramids were not multi-colored in any way and they did not have big statues of pharaohs chiseled on the sides. They were just plain, white with a gold painted point at the top. Not really a big seller.
  18. These sets are in a word "Awsome". I just cannot wait until I get my hands on them. I especially like the pyramid. The way that they designed it is just perfect. I also like the cobra a lot in spite of its cloth hood. Oh, man, 2011 is going to be a great year for us and a very dangerous one for Lego minifigs.
  19. Perhapes you could just post them up somewhere and then let us know about it. That way you wouldn't get in trouble with the moderators since you did not post the pictures here on Eurobricks.com. It is just a suggestion. P.S. Thank you for all of the information that you have provided so far. I know that a number of us really appreciate it. And even though this is off-topic a bit. One of the reasons that I got on this site so much was because of all of the new information that would come on this site, so I do hope that the moderators do not become to strict or it will choke out a lot of the fun in this forum for me.
  20. After seeing the picture of the Queen Annes Revenge for the new POTC movie I am very hopeful that at least we will get some great Pirate galleons. Personally I only like the big ships or the really small sloops. I don't care for the brigs all that much so it would be great if they came out with some proper pirate galleons and perhapes some more great naval war ships.
  21. You also have to consider that after 20 years the boxes can absorb moisture in the air and when they dry out the acid from the box will leak all over the bricks inside. And let us not forget that the plastic should get some air. I will never forget when I saw an action figure that had been sealed for 20 years that then decomposed right in front of the owner when he opened it because it did not have enough air. Granted Lego is not sealed up on a card like action figures but still, I would open the package just so the bricks can be stored properly in plastic storage bins.
  22. I would have liked to vote for the new Imperial Flagship but, since this is an old post I will have to vote for the old one. I will say that I still think that the old imperial flagship is the best in terms of the sail arrangement of the three. I also like the printing on the sails of both imperial flagships the best. I also have the armada flagship and I am not very impressed with it. There is very little rigging and it is void of any triangular sail in the front. And the ship is just way too colorful in a jelly-bean kind of way. The Caribbean clipper is my least favorite as it seem very primative to me for a Lego set. Also I don't like the way the gun port flaps fold down as it seem unrealistic to me, and I don't like the overall colorscheme with all of the blue.
  23. I have to say Captain Redbeard is my favorite. I have always loved his outfit.
  24. I have to say the skull eyes schooner because of the nastalgia. I would almost say the Imperial Flagship, the new one, but, again the skull eyes schooner was my favorite when I was a kid.
  25. Redcoats rule and blue coats just drool.
