That ship looks awsome. I am really impressed. I was wondering if you could post some other pictures of your ship. I would really like to see some close-ups of the hull and a good view of the stern gallery.

I have to say that I agree with you. I really didn't like it that the two buildings in the Medieval Market Village were bigger than the towers on the Kings Castle, but that is the way Lego is. You work with what you got. That being said, I do wish that lego would keep scale in mind when they are building these sets.

I have to say that I am extremely impressed with all 4 of these ships. That pirate galleon for instance, just simply amazing. I do hope that you build these ships with real Lego bricks someday.

WIP: Le Défenseur A French Frigate

I really like how you are doing the stern. The two cannons look awsome and I really like the stern gallery. Keep up the good Lego building. -
Looking good.

There is no point in trading two great ships in order to get one great ship. I would keep your collection and enhance them with new sails, parts, crew, etc... My philosophy has always been to add to my collection not sell what I have to get something I don't have. Just enjoy what you have and if you get the opportunity to get something new, like the Imperial Flagship, get it and then you will really be able to enjoy it with you other ships.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Jack Bricker replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
What I was pointing out is I think it was one of those hints from Lego that we would be seeing more pirates, because if Lego really wasn't going to make any more pirates that they would just stick to the same minifigures on all of their advertising. -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Jack Bricker replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I was browsing google looking for possible pictures of the POTC sets and I came upon this. Now as I understand it this is a picture of one of Lego's video games but, take a closer look at the pirate captain. His beard is black instead of red and he has a torso that I have never seen before. That is significant because one of the main charactors for POTC 4 is Blackbeard. What do the rest of you think? -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

I do hope that they make a really good looking Black Pearl. I was not particularly fond of the BBB and getting the stern gallery right, three arched windows with no gaping holes around the edges, is going to be a bit of a challenge. I also would like to see at lease one legitimate gun deck. I do wonder if the Imperial Flagship was a test to see how well a $200 ship would sell. I mean it was so out of the blue when it came out. First Lego says that they are going to discontinue the entire Pirates line and then all of a sudden they come out with this massive warship. It kind of makes me wonder if they were testing the waters to see how well a $200 Black Pearl would sell. Also I agree with some others on the forum that I do not want to see just small cut-scenes from the movie. If they make the blacksmith scene I want to see the entire blacksmith shop. That being said, they did pretty well for the PoP line so, hopefully they will do just as well for the POTC line. -
Analyzing negativity? I understand what you are trying to say but, there is a line between speculating about the future of a theme and then just being plain negative. I guess to speak more clearly I have seen a lot of people on this forum who don't even speculate, they just complain every time a new set comes out. They find something they don't like and try to go on and on about how great the old days were. And they aren't really even disliking the set they just want an excuse to complain and whine about Lego. Putting a constant negative attitude towards Lego when Lego is trying so hard to improve from it's dark age a few years ago is not a good thing. It is only destructive. Now that I have totally gotten off topic, sorry moderators please forgive me for my sins , I will say that there is a lot of potential for the PoP theme. I remember the historic theme guys were wanting there to be some other castle-type themes beside european and well, this is it. I was wondering if there was any chance that we might see a Lego PoP video game the way we saw a Lego Indi game?

Who says it isn't going to make back its budget. If I remember correctly its budget was around $120 million. I would say it has come pretty close in just a month. Also, you have to compare movies like POTC which actually had very close box office numbers compared to PoP and if you take into account the bad economy I would say that the movie did not bomb. I don't know why everybody wants this movie to bomb. The sets are cool and the movie is really cool. I have noticed that people on this forum are getting more and more negative. If Lego comes out with the super popular Kingdoms line people on this forum "look" for a reason not to like about it. Even when we just had the prelimonary picture people were already trying to find reasons not to like it. It kind of turns me off after a while.
-
That quote is old. If you look here My link the film has grossed over $86 million in the US alone and over $312 million worldwide. So, yeah, I'd say the movie didn't bomb, and I would expect the sets to not be on clearance by the end of the summer. I am only pushing this because I am hoping against hope that perhapes we will see a second wave someday and because I am a huge PoP game fan.
-
Who said that the movie bombed. I was looking at the ratings and the movie did quite well. I mean it was not a huge blockbuster like POTC but, it still performed well. Especually considering the bad economy. A lot of people are out of work including myself and it is just cheaper to rent the movie from a grocery store or just buy and watch it as many times as I want. Also, the Kingdoms line has just came out as well and that has been flying off of the shelves in my local area so I would imagine that that is going to effect the sales of the PoP sets, not to mention the new Star Wars sets and the Imperial Flagship which has just been out for 6 months.

D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
Jack Bricker replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I know I am a day late but, perhapes since the thread is still open I could reply. Please. 1. No. I buy them only if I like the model. 2. No. I may like the theme as a whole but, I only buy the models that I like in that theme. 3. I would really like to see a giant castle like malbork Castle in Poland or perhaps a crusader castle in israel. 4. I would love to see a realistic 18th century naval frigate like some of the ships that you see on this forum. The Imperial Flagship was really super cool, but a realistic 32-gun frigate would be out-of-this-world. 5. A giant castle with lots of detail would be really neat because it would be more to scale with the medieval market village and I could fit more buildings inside the castle. -
Kingdoms Battle Packs Discussion
Jack Bricker replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I spoke the the manager at my local Lego store and he said that all of the minifigures in battle packs, magnet sets, and otherwise are manufactured in denmark just like the minifigures in the regular sets. The coloring is sometimes different but, the minifigure is the same quality. He also told me that Lego only uses china to build specialty parts like the magnets and electronics in some sets and so on. -
Not listening to our claims? Really. Before we did not have a gate tower, now we have a gate tower. Before we had a Very Airy throne room, now they have closed it up much better. Before we had a castle that was not completely modular, now we have a castle that can be modified in many different ways. The corner towers can be easily doubled in size, all of the walls can be configured in any way you see fit, and it wouldn't be that hard to close off the tall tower even more.
-
I just got the Kings Castle and I think that it is the best castle Lego has ever made. It is totally modular so that you can buy multiples of the castle and connect them all, it has the gatehouse, it has a throne room that doesn't look as airy as the last one, and it has a proper prison with a prison door, unlike the last castle which really didn't have a prison door. Great castle and I can't wait to get the rest of the line.

Review: 6090 Royal Knight's Castle
Jack Bricker replied to metalandi's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I have had this castle since I was a kid and I still love it to this day. I don't quite understand why people hate the bases so much. I mean, it is nice to get a castle without the base but, I also like to have some castles with the base because it looks so natural and cool on those little mountains. Anyway, great review and outstanding set. -
I know that this might be slightly off-topic and I might be repeating somebody else but, I did talk to the store manager at my local official Lego store and he said that all minifigures, whether in a magnet set, battle pack or otherwise are made right in denmark. They just change the printing a little bit but, they are still made in Denmark. I just wanted to mention this because I have seen a lot of people worrying over this and I would like to set them at ease. Back on topic. I am really excited about this new castle line. The minifigures are awsome and I really cannot wait to get the calandar set. I have not purchased calandar sets in the past because I haven't been impressed with the minifigs enough but, this time I think that I will have to make an exception.
-
If you look at the box art on the PoP series you will find the old katanas but, you get the new ones in the set. I think that Lego is probably making final adjustments to the theme right now and even if they don't I am sure that most castle fans would agree that this castle theme is still way better than the old KK theme of ten years ago.

Very nice. I really like how to did ezio. I also like the detail that you put on the buildings and I like the way you did the crowds.

Will there be more Prince of Persia Sets?
Jack Bricker replied to legitimatealex's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't believe that speed racer was that big of a movie and I also don't think that that particular Lego line sold all that well. Whereas the PoP line is selling very well where I am at. I was just there and they went through their entire first or second shipment already so the sets are selling well. Also I think the movie could do quite well. After reading one of the books for the movie I think they just might have something there. -
Nice review. I really like the new great helm now that I have seen some really good pictures of it and I also really like the new coats of arms for the lion and dragon factions. I have to say that I am getting really excited about this new theme and I really can't wait until it is released here in the US.

Will there be more Prince of Persia Sets?
Jack Bricker replied to legitimatealex's topic in LEGO Licensed
I recently got one of the books for the movie and there are a lot of scenes in the movie that Lego doesn't even touch up on with the sets. I think they may just be waiting to see how the movie does and how well the line sells and then we might see more PoP sets next year. I hope, I hope, I hope.
