What's with Lego sets nowadays?
lightningtiger replied to Squishy Stelactite's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Reading what you wrote 'Squishy Stelactite', something stuck in my mind....you love the sets from the late 90's....MEH, the worse time from <insert that tiresome argument> designs....especially town...oh, dear. You don't like the licensed stuff, well that stuff help save Lego's bacon remember.....their money troubles a decade ago, designing sets that take only two minutes to make....kids turned off and started heading to MB ! Lego these days offer more design options, parts, colours, minifigs, plenty to MOC build from. There are two era's I in Lego, the late 70's/early 80's and the present. -
I feel the real issue is caused by that old evil....TELEVISION, yes, TV...why you may ask ? Shows like 'iCarly' or 'Hanna Montana' and alike paint a similar image as Lego Friend's does.....and for those FemRad's to attack Lego only is weak of them. Lego is an easy target, fighting TV networks who have stacks of cash and legal teams......go figure. The ideas shown in TV program are not new, the image set in Barbie concrete, but there is nothing wrong with girls wanting to have a girly cafe session or beauty spot treatment and then do a grease and oil change on a hot rod, plus wire up a sub-woofer in the boot. Simple, let children be children....they must find their own paths in life, and Lego is help tool in their development along those paths. I have a saying.....Learn, Live, Life, Lego......Learn to Live Life through Lego.

Yes, and words are 'subject to approval'.....I can't see how Ben10 or suggesting Generator Rex would go to another toy company other than Lego.....TimeWarner deal remember and CN is TimeWarner.

MOC - 1950's Australian Suburban Street
lightningtiger replied to lightningtiger's topic in LEGO Town
Thanks for the comment 'eurotrash'....a Pie Shop....that will be the milk bar, a milk bar is basically a corner shop selling drinks, ice cream and of course pies.....usually they sold basic food stuffs like bread, milk (hence the name), cheese, ham and other smallgoods. Barbershop is today.....must get designing. -
Great to see the improvements there 'LGG', neat little hoist lift....at least it works with short 4 wide vehicles....6's would tip over all the time. Keep going 'LGG'.....Brick On Drive On !

Ah, but the sign points upstairs to the workshop....downstairs for wash and fuel....upstairs for repairs and oil changes. Though it makes sense about the security office being located elsewhere.
