  1. Ah, so it's reality everyone wants to see..........that's the challenge is it ?
  2. Not bad work on either the car or the figures.......what no Tina Turner character ? Brick On...beyond Thunderdome !
  3. Thanks 'LCM', I still trying to planning how the showdown servo is going to fit in my layout......guess I'll build it first eh ?
  4. Thanks everyone for your feedback and questions...... First, there are rubbish bins for sale at the hardware store......but true I forgot about normal council bins on the street.....thanks 'Aussie BJ' for the tip. Second, the Target is the tallest I have.....it's history could be that it was once a cinema back in the 1940's...fell on hard times in the late 50's when TV came along and was taken over by G.J. Coles and then more recently changed into a Target Country......see it's called imagination ! Third, spice up the glass.....what up in smoke ? oh, no...you mean trimmings - I haven't finished the concrete edging yet and well, I don't think there is any room because of the white boundary fencing for the railway tracks sit in the way....but it's safety first in my town and happy hour between 5 and 6 at the local ! I'm finally having fun with some of my work and enjoying how it's all coming together.....next the Holden dealer will be adjusted, then the Elders.....dam, need more dark bluey grey 8x16's again ! Keep watching everyone !
  5. I agree, this is about two things....the building and the pumps....that's what makes a service station these days.....even back in the 1920's.....I'm still deciding on doing very old or very new/modern ? Whatever it is it will be living in the end in my New Mannum layout for April.....since my town doesn't really have a proper gas station.
  6. I saw only one on Bricklink and it was priced over 100 dollars AU so I would say depending on the quality of the vehicles and garages.....then $$$$$$.
  7. Sorry, mod's but another fresh image I have to share and it's coming together so well. Only the Holden and Elders buildings to be taken care of plus concrete edging on the grass side of the main street. Comments always welcome.....more to come still.....hopefully some surprises too I hope.
  8. So is that 3 road plates and 2 16x32's ? Must have a car wash is something special in it ? This contest is pretty open, it could have a workshop or car wash or whatever.....in a way the sky's the limit !
  9. Dude what are you talking about......my 377 as a kid was on a 32x32 and my 7993 which I've had now for a few years is also on a 32x32 ? And a showdown sounds a little better than war.....Lego isn't a real fan of war stuff or the talk of war.....apart from in castle or licensed areas.
  10. Well, three of them and they are nearly 50 years old ! According to Bricklink, 1964's 671 Vauxhall Victor with Garage.....they even came in blue. Plus from what I can work out....very rare and very pricey....your friend is very lucky....didn't have the garages that go with them ?
  11. Nice white version there 'SalvoBrick',,,,,,keep them coming and Brick On Drive On !
  12. Another image now...... More coming in the next few days......keep watching !
  13. Cool, I was planning a 32x32 design.......my brain is nutting it over as I type this......may the best servo win !
  14. Now, now it was 'LCM's idea and 'Rick' gave his approval.....so 'LCM' is setting the rules.....except one thing.....how is the winner being decided ?
  15. Thanks 'Brickington' and those orange pieces are the components to something becoming quite rare around the western world.....a payphone ! Now another image..... More to come still keep watching everyone !
  16. Since I have been finalising display pieces for April's meet and now the Servo Showdown comes along.....parts are running low so time to rebirth my Aussie Town....improve it and make it scream even more Aussie, Aussie, you know the rest ! Just one fresh image right now......more to come....during the day I hope. How does it look so far.....the rebirth......keep watching (the Canadian and contest builds will run in parallel.....more fun that way )
  17. Nice customs and no, I haven't tried using waterslide decals yet......but I actually can't wait to see your Starbucks 'wooootles'.....Brick On !
  18. Well, I think it will all have to be new builds.....my only carry over will be a set of pumps.....but the actual building for mine will be totally new.
  19. .....mmm, pardon ? On your question brown, tan or white.....it all depends on the era or style of gas station you are attemping. Example.....brown roof and white walls but with art deco or early 20th century features would work for a retro 1920's/1930's gas station.
  20. Question......would this work on Cuusoo.....yes or no ? I'm considering posting it there, but need to know from everyone else what they think......thanks.
  21. It's amazing went things people talk about in these topics eh ? 'Vomitorium'.....what if the performance makes you sick you have somewhere to..... ...... Okay, this project is now done and dusted ready for the show......which I have to call the guy in charge and check to see how much space they are allowing the tiger.
  22. Thanks 'bootz' and 'Bregir' for your comments.......now it is an old dealer so that sign would be from the 1970's......heck, in outback Oz we have defunct service station company signs everywhere still. There will be more work done to this early next week, but bear in mind of the great gas station war could start next week !
  23. I look forward to your fish market then.......very original idea 'bootz'.....Brick On always !
  24. I think minifig scale would be best since it's in the spirit of Legotown/Legoland of the old days (late 70's/early 80's) when service stations were more common. Now it's a waiting game for the leader of the conflict to speak again !
  25. Ah, yes....size and also which scale is allowed.........minifig, maxi-fig or micro scale....good question I think ?
