NICE! Thats a HUGE sign... Whats it gonna be? The sign could look cinema-like, but the glass-facade is more shop-ish... But if you follow the path of your hardware store, it's sure to be great

Who said that girls can't play with bricks? Go Astrid! Tillykke med det flotte resultat Astrid! Glæder os til at det kommer i handlen

Keep in mind that modular-prices in the homeland of Lego is way different! The last 3 modular-sets have cost 1400,- danish kr. plus 50kr. in shipping. With todays rate that's 246$!!! And the worst part is, that we pay that price I would gladly pay 200$ for the Town Hall!!! That would be around the price for the Cafe Corner back in the good old days.... I wouldn't be surpriced if the danish price for TH ends above 300 $

I'ts a very lovely victorian house, which certainly deserves some bricks. Nice to see the GG barbeque again Spiral staircases are very beautifull. But this one looks like it fills up most of the floor. Is it just me or is that a bit shame?

I love your Pshyco-Fabuland ideas Maybe I'll incorporate that

Great design!!!! Two shops compressed to 16 wide, shouldn't be possible. But you've just made it It looks very urban and natural with these shops placed as close to one another. One might think that you're japanese, with the sushi and the excellent use of small space Somehow the light and dark pink seems very natural. I would never have considered those colours for a modular. unless something cuban purhaps. But yours looks really great. It might have been done before. But my favourite detail is the couch-pillows. Simple yet brilliant!!!

I'm glad you understand . And you'r absolutely right. The best way to really get to know the bio of modulars, is to get your hands dirty. Good luck on your way!!!

We have similar seafood sales in my local area (Denmark), although it's in a trailer. But it's a brilliant idea for a MOC and I'm looking forward to se the interior shots. Great job!!!

It that case, it's a good job. CC has a lot of educational building-technics in it, and I'm looking forward to see what you build in the future with this knowledge. I think people might have misunderstood what I meant. Personally i didn't like the colour combination very much. I think the bright red is a bit too dominating. But hey... thats my problem The use of golden 1x1 in the Hotel-sign is quiet good. It's a great build, when you want to explore with what you've got. I just thought that there were room for constructive comments. But no bad feelings

Welcome out of the your "dark ages", its a whole new world on the other side It certainly looks different from the original... Personally I would have made something sligthly different with the amount of bricks, instead of something that "wants" to look like CC. The above is not meant in a negative sence. Just a friendly comment

Here's a little more fotage, to see the shop in its local environment. I took your word Redhead1982 about the darkness and installed some lights above the glass-shelfs. Unfortunately the shopowner forgot to switch the light on I'ts a good thing, that four out of ten citizens in lego city are policemen, with that car-theft going on outside the shop

Thanks y'all! It actually had a register, when I made it in ldd. But I forgot to order that brick in PAB. Maybe I'll copy the one from pet-shop, which is fresh in mind. I'll add some pics tonight with a neighbourhood, when I get home tonight. It also has a sign and logo now.

B-OV-27A Call them mini-modulars, stackables or whatever.... I like them. And they make a nice and fast little town, which my little son loves. But when Toyz R Us made their little shop I thought. Hey lets urbanize The first little project in that line I made for real, is a small mens clothe shop. It came out of a little LDD-jamming with interacting curves. You could call it a little study for something bigger. Maybe a modular... who knows.

Looking sharp LT! It's clear to see, that your on home ground here. The colours and stickers match real good and for a dane, it looks authentic That dosn't mean that I'm not looking forward to see your danish inspired village grow

Just finished the Pet Shop last night. And I can't quiet understand why this magnificent modular gets such a relatively low rating. It really is beautifull. I felt especially warm at heart to see Jamie's old "Cafe Coner alternative" finally become a finished modular building. And who doesn't like light blue bricks!!! Unfortunately I missed out on Market street. So it's a very nice feeling to finally see a blue-ish building on my modular-strip. Maybe the explenation is, that many modular-collectors are a bit nostalgic, including my self. First love never dies So I havn't switched my Cafe Coner vote. Even though it struck me while building PS, and I had the whole street put together, that Green Grocer really is the most beautiful modular
-
Very very nice!!! There's a nice harmony in the facade and the colours match each other quiet well. Perhaps I miss a little more detaling above the windows in the middle floor... But thats peanuts Love your store!!!

Is there an official name for the "Stackable" city sets?
MadManMingo replied to DaddyDeuce's topic in LEGO Town
The Toys R Us is not stack able. But hey, the bicycle store next to the pizza place isn't either. Therefore I prefer mini-modulars, even though stackables Sounds more quinky. Maybe its a bit too much to call them a seperat line. But I like them very much and I see them as a nice modular-inspired way to create a cool little town in a hurry, especially for kids. My 5 year old son don't care that the Toyz R Us, are as small as a little bikeshop. It's a toystore! It looks good! Then who cares about scale and proportions -

I tend to call them mini-modulars. Not to be mistaken with micro modulars of course -
Really amazing!!! I wonder what would turn out if "Fully Brick Models" and Jamie Berard teamed up in a cellar i Billund? That would really be awesome

I feel your pain A world where you missed out on GG would be a cruel one. But cheer up... it was all just a bad dream

Cafe Corner: The one that startet the whole modular wave. An architechtural pearl in rare colours. Special detail: The angled corner that nobody thought possible. Green Grocer: Perhaps the most beautiful of them all. Great combination of recidential and shop. Special detail: The build-in tower on the front, and the fire-escape at the back. Fire Brigade: The american modular, and probably on of the most hyped, at the rumour-stage. I remember a phantom-drawing made from all the rumours. Couldn't stop laughing when these rumours turned out to be the small pizza place in the Lego City lineup and not the new modular. Special detail: The beautiful masonry at the front. Grand Emporium:The only modular which disapointed me at first site. My first thought was, "thats a fake... so not made by TLG". My reaction was possibly based on my total AWE by Sveltes Department store. But when I first got the Emporium I must say... it is really GRAND! Special detail: The art of smal multiple details times ten. Pet Shop: Havn't bought it yet, but hopefully will next week Town Hall: Really big and really promissing... even tough it should have been wider My personal favourit.... The Cafe Corner of course It brought me out of my "dark ages".

Welcome back colour
MadManMingo replied to MadManMingo's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Yeaahhh... I've finished the first floor of Cafe Corner in LDD, so I could have an inventory-list to order another floor on my own CC. It really is my favourite modular Actually I think I will use this oportunity to add som seperating walls, and some interior before I order. But if anyone else would want the inventory for this floor alone, just pop me a message, and I'll send you a pdf -
