[MOC] Tatra 813 6x6
DLuders replied to yoraish's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@ yoraish: Your sure shows the Tatra's capabilities! It's got some great low-end torque! -
The solution could be on this Lego.com Messageboard post. This PDF instruction document may be useful too. If those don't work, use Google.com to do a search under the terms "Lego Bluetooth Line Busy". There are several good "hits" when you get the Search results, so you should be able to find some answers.

In order to run Power Functions motors from either Control Center, you will need to get a 60656 "Electric, Power Functions Extension Wire with one Light Bluish Gray End (length 20cm)." The Light Bluish Gray end goes on the Control Unit, and the Dark Bluish Gray end goes on the Power Functions motor.

According to Bricklink, the 9753 Technic Control Center I set came with the 2840c unit, and the 9752 Technic Control Center II came with the 2840b unit (which seems backwards, but is true). [blakbird's Technicopedia has excellent articles on both the 8094 Control Center I and the 8485 Control Center II (pictured in order below). Since Blakbird has every Lego Technic set in existence , he probably could best answer your questions.

On his Brickshelf gallery, thirdwigg posted 23 BIG pictures of his Lego T-72 Tank with Power Functions. He wrote on this Flickr webpage: "So much of this design came from vincez01, and his great little T-62. This can be seen at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=408766. Thanks so much. This is my 1/24 scale version of the famous [Russian WWII] T-72 tank. The tank has all the working features I could fit into it. Working suspension, working driveline, accurate scale, full Power Functions. The tank has two PF M working each track, and one for the rotation of the turret. Each wheel is suspended, using three different suspension methods, all due to different constraints on space, movement, and need. Hope you enjoy, all comments are welcome. Many more pictures at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=thirdwigg . " He also posted this :

On his Flickr photostream, _Spazsky_ posted 12 photos of his Lego 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible. A very fancy and expensive American car from 1959, the Biarritz was considered to be a status symbol. It's got the chrome, the tailfins, and SIZE. _Spazski_ wrote that his model is "Based on the Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible. It isn't convertible, though :( Reclining seats and movable doors. Full of little details from the original model. It was shown in the Spanish event Bricksur: http://www.bricksur.tk in Granada the 6th of November [2010]; and in the other Spanish event HispaBrick: http://www.hispabrick.com in Terrasa the 4th of December [2010]. Hope you like it :)"

Nightwerty's instructions are to cut off the "studs" on two 6587 "Technic, Axle 3 with Stud" pieces: Big deal; the part is only worth US $0.01-$0.02 on Bricklink. If one did not want to cut the part, then grind down the studs on your sidewalk. SuperCow's suggestion to use the 87083 "Technic, Axle 4 with Stop" may satisfy the so-called "Lego purists" out there: . I wouldn't even bother making a special Bricklink order to get one of these US $0.10-$0.20 pieces. I'm just going to cut the axle length of the x1739 "Technic, Axle 8 with Stop" part to make it 3L instead of 8L: . It's easier and faster, and the part only costs US $0.05-$0.10 on Bricklink and I already have a bunch of them. Folks who dismiss Lego Technic MOCs like Nightworthy's (just because they cut a cheap Lego part) are missing out on some fun.

Hmmm, very interesting: Old part 4019 "Technic, Gear 16 Tooth (Old Style with Round Holes)": New part 94925 "Light Bluish Gray Technic, Gear 16 Tooth (New Style Reinforced)": -
Controller in NXT software?
DLuders replied to EnVyThePain's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Perhaps the "NXT Off-Brick Controllers (Remote Controls)" list on the TeamHassenplug.org webpage would help. Scroll 2/3 of the way down that list to find the list, and the hyperlinks to the software. -

PAHAB - The human size robot
DLuders replied to shutinc's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There is a bit more information about the PAHAB robot on the Lego Mindstorms NXTLog website. Daniel Gran (a.k.a. shutinc) is the creator, and he posted 9 pictures and a short description on MOCpages: "About this creation -- This is my attempt to make a full size humanoid robot combining the LEGO Mindstorms NXT and Power Functions using the IR-link sensor. I call it PAHAB, as it stands for Partially Autonomous Humanoid Android Bot. I started this project a while back (october 2008). It weighs approx. 60 lbs and consists of about 30,000 parts and pieces." There are a few pictures of PAHAB next to a real human on Phoenix's Brickshelf gallery: -
tillmanbalazs has been refining the chassis for his Lego Technic Mercedes Actros concrete pump truck (based on a Putzmeister M63). He added two wheels to make a pneumatically-operated rear axle for his "12x6x8." It has 20 wheels on 6 axles, and this shows its functions: This shows that, even without the addition of the rear-most axle, it had plenty of torque to move heavy objects:

On his Blogo Technic, Alban/ Alban42800 posted a and 18 pictures of his Great Ball Contraption (GBC) Modules 5 and 6. From the Babelfish French-to-English translation, he wrote: "Here 2 new modules, module 5 “the caterpillar” and the module 6 “One set GBC 8258”. The caterpillar is an evolution of the use of the large green wheels with “the new” links of caterpillars already present in my module 4. This module comprises a mixer at the bottom of the vat of entry, a wheel/caterpillar with 2 claws to leave the balls the vat and the system with the large wheel. For this last the caterpillar must be tended not to demolish a wheel by gravity. It was thus necessary to work the rigidity of the support and I could not pass to me from the black beam to the top, if not them axes of the wheels twist. I made this model at the time of the meeting setechnic 2010 or one can see it on the video, in last part ( ).One set GBC 8258 is as its name indicates it a module only made starting from the parts of truck LEGO 8258. This set lends itself to it well since there are an engine and much parts. I chose to convoy the balls with two systems of comb after. That is not innovator nor original, then I exploited the transmission: The engine is followed of a reduction by epicyclic gear of 1/4 rise in a cage of turntable (the external crown is not used for nothing here). Then, to bring the movement to the second comb you can see a transmission by tires (! ) 2nd and 4th wheels are simply guided in vertical rails and member with the others by gravity. The direction of rotation makes that the more important the required couple is and the stronger the pressure between the tires is. The notes of these models will be available when I dismount them. Place maintaining with the photographs and the ":
