  1. Sariel/ searme pointed out that his also uses a compact Power Functions setup:
  2. meetos666 posted this of his Lego 8049 B-model variant -- a "Long Handler with Power Functions":
  3. minks502 posted this of his "Lego Technic 8070 With custom V8 -- After making my V8 engine, I had to put it in my 8070 Supercar. The front hood function doesn't exist because to engine wouldn't allow it": He also posted this of the naked Lego Technic V8 motor, for which his "goal was to make a better looking motor":
  4. Grohl/ Grohl666 posted this of his "Review of the second largest set for the second half of 2011 [the 8109 Flatbed].1,115 Parts. The set includes 1 M Motor, Battery box, 20 Panels (some in new colours), many gears and gear racks"
  5. As reported yesterday on this Brothers Brick article: "4-wide microscale RC DAF truck runs on Power Functions" "Robert H. (Robiwan_Kenobi) manages to fit a PF motor, RC receiver, and battery box into this fully self-contained DAF truck: Robiwan_Kenobi wrote on his Flickr photostream: "Remote controlled DAF XF with EuroCombi trailer" "This project was a real challenge and takes much time for developing. Now this little 4 studs wide DAF is equipped with LEGO Power Functions and you can control it with the LEGO IR Remote Control Unit. It wasn't easy to arrange and hide all the PF components and cables! "Due to the small size of the truck, you can't require perfection: the DAF drives slow and steers too fast and rough. The micromoter is a little powerless, that is why the truck only steers on some plain surfaces. "The colours of the truck are the same like the Power Functions components to advertise its hidden abilities. "Please correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the narrowest (4 studs) steerable and remote controlled LEGO vehicle I know, isn't it? "Here a link to compare with an original DAF XF, [and] my other micro-scale trucks you can find here." There is a video on The Brothers Brick webpage.
  6. The winner of the July 2011 Lego Technic Challenge is anteater1997's "Dune Buggy" -- "This dune buggy features independent suspension, stearing controlled by the stearing wheel, rear wheel drive, rear-mounted V-8 engine with exhaust system. A gear shift for engaging the wheels from the engine is stationed between the seats. The buggy also has a bumper and spoiler": The prize:
  7. @ LockdownTF: Are you trying to build a motorized version of the Lego Bionicle 8996 Skopio XV-1 set?
  8. MOC = My Own Creation B.U.T.T. = Big Ugly Technic Tank (I think)
  9. Although I don't own the standard 8053 set, I agree with Gekke Ted that it SEEMS fine. [@ fede.97: You can insert your PHOTOS and VIDEOS directly -- hover your computer mouse over the icons to the right of the "smiley face" when you make a post. You will see an icon for "Insert Image" and another one for "Insert media" (video).]
  10. Here are the pictures that fede.97 wants us to look at:
  11. The small Technic Link part you want is in LDD Extended Mode. In Bricklink, it's Part 3711. Open up the program, then do a search in the top-left for the word "link". You will see the "CHAIN LINK M=1" part on the 8th row of the search results box. [EDIT: Cy-Gor beat me to it!]
  12. There were many good entries, but I like these three (in order of preference): - 11 - the last chronicler - Red Faced Monkey-Lion -- 3 points - 17 - riversarl - Kangaroo -- 2 points - 01 - Toa_Of_Justice - Cargo Plane -- 1 point
  13. @ gt1750: Welcome to Eurobricks! I like your black Street Rod, and its studded construction, and the two Superchargers on top of the V8!
  14. You can run 4 ea. PF Medium motors or 2 ea. PF XL motors on one PF battery box. If your MOC has 5 ea. PF Medium motors AND one PF XL motor, you will need two Battery Boxes.
  15. @ Coen: One could integrate Lego components and RC components using Inanimate Reason's kits. Click on the "Show All Custom Items" link at the left-center of that webpage (in the blue background), and you can see lots of stuff like this to mount RC hobby servo motors:
  16. @ leo81: rien posted this Eurobricks topic about Lego "Power Functions on 11.1V" RC batteries. There is extensive discussion about the maximum voltage that PF components can handle. If you are running Power Functions on 9.6V, you should be fine. You don't need any fuses or resistors; the PF Receiver provides the protection. If you are going to run all of those motors, you will need more than one battery pack. Read the Power Functions "Frequently-Asked Questions" (FAQ) webpage: "Q2: How many Power Functions Motors can I drive from one Power Functions Battery Box? A2: As a rule of thumb, you can drive 2 Power Functions XL-Motors, 3 Power Functions Train Motors or 4 Power Functions M-Motors at the same time from one Power Functions Battery Box. If you wish to run a combination of motors, you can e.g. have 1 XL and 2 M running together. The XL-Motor requires about twice as much power as the M-Motor. The Battery Boxes and the IR Receiver have overload protection, so attempting to drive too many motors will not damage anything. The power a motor consumes depends on what function the motor is performing. Motors will operate best when driving a small load." Q12: What happens when the Power Functions overload protection kicks in? A12: Overload protection is activated when too much power is consumed from either a Power Functions Battery Box or the IR Receiver. This can happen when a motor is blocked or when too many motors are running at the same time. If overload protection is activated, the Battery Box or the IR Receiver will cut off power to the output until power consumption has dropped under the allowed value. To regain power, unblock the motor or disconnect motors from the output – then turn the Battery Box OFF and ON again. Under overload protection, the green light on the Power Functions Battery Box will still be ON.
  17. It kind of looks like the one below -- is it an American Freightliner?
  18. Well, Rower_24 is trying to sell the Little Devil clone again on eBay (starting bid USD $0.99; no bids yet, minimum acceptable "Reserve" price not yet met). At the beginning of the auction description, the Californian wrote: "For sale is a custom designed by Jurgen, fully sourced parts, and built Lego remote controlled sports car. Included in the sale are all the parts necessary to build the set and the instructions which I will email or print out for you. The set itself was modified from a previous design and as it was built, modified to look and work better. The parts were sourced, purchased, and then assembled to check performance. The outcome exceeded expectations and is quite remarkable. More pictures are on display here: http://www.jurgenstechniccorner.com/littledevil2.html ."
  19. From the Lego Technic Challenge website, it says: "The competition is very simple...Build a model out of primarily LEGO Technic elements. NEW Competition Requirement! We've had several instances of cheating, so we've had to include a new requirement: download and print the TECHNIC Challenge logo and put it next to your model when you take a photo. Your entry must include the Challenge logo to be considered as a finalist. The printed logo must be in the photo, and not added in a digital painting program like Photoshop." Your single photo that you submit can be a collage of several photos (like one of the monthly winners below): The contest submittal deadline is still in doubt (August 21st or 23rd?), so I would shoot for the earlier date (August 21).
  20. @ jonwil: If you mean this fellow then the blue portion of his legs are the 970c42pb01 "Hips and Medium Blue Legs with Silver Inserts Pattern" part that comes in the col010 Super Wrestler minifig:
  21. @ SNIPE: Why don't you ORDER some parts yourself, and try it out? I'm done with this topic, and have lost patience on this matter.
  22. @ TheHammer: There is a small 6-cylinder Lego Technic aircraft shown in this . You can read more about it here.
  23. Here is a good Wikipedia article about "Moral rights (copyright law)," and how Moral Rights vary throughout the world. Jurgen Krooshoop was very gracious in this matter. All the eBay seller had to do was ACKNOWLEDGE in his auction that Jurgen was the designer, "but no" the seller wouldn't even do that. What an ingrate. I'm glad that nobody bid on that blatant copy of Jurgen's work.
  24. No MPD file is attached to your original post. Will the instructions be for your Lego Technic "Fully-PF Backhoe Loader"?
  25. Well, there were no bids on the Little Devil clone, so the seller got what he deserved -- nothing.
