  1. I have began on a big project. I mean REALLY big. Don't believe me? Check out the plan I made in LDD: Below are some street accents that I hope to install. Some gas powered street lamps, some signs, and even trash bins. Here's a question for you, which gas powered lamp do you like the most? I don't know which one I like the most, and the one that is the most liked will the the main lamps featured on Main Street with the other two being on the sidelines. Plan2-1.png The Horse Drawn Carriage which I already did another entire thread about, and that thing which you tie horses onto. What's it called? I seem to have forgotten. Plan3-1.png And the real street which I am basing the design on. You can clearly see that I have almost made an exact copy of Disneyland's Main Street, from the Horse Drawn Carriage Tracks to the Disneyland Railroad Main Street Station. This project is a bit overwhelming the more I look at it Wish me luck
  2. I've been to the parks on several occasions, every time riding the Horse Drawn Trolley, so I can tell you how it works. For one thing, the horse always pulls to the right, so the trolley also pulls to the right. But the tracks are also specially designed, when I took a closer look. There no switch or automation or anything like that. It's just a single piece of iron or steel or whatever metal it's made of. Notice how there is no actual switch. Just a single piece of track that diverges into two. The tracks have grooves in it for the trolley to pass through. All the horse has to do is pull it in the right direction. http://img.photobuck...09/IMG_0247.jpg
  3. I want to try and bring you to a simpler time. Around the Turn of the Century in the good ol' center of the United States of America. Horse drawn carriages and walking were the preferred modes of transportation with locomotives being long ranged transportation. Horseless Carriages were becoming the craze as well. Everyone would go to the park or soda fountain to pass the time on Saturdays, and go to church on Sunday in their best attire. Barbershop Quartets sand on the street across from the open-air cafe playing some jolly good Rag Time music on a piano on stage. Everyone pretty much knew everybody, and life was nice and sweet. I can't bring that back to you now, but I can bring you something that has a connection with that era. I present to you, a Disneyland's Main Street U.S.A.'s Horse Drawn Trolley. In keeping with my sudden Disneyland rush of ideas, I decided to do something simple today. I recreated the Horse Drawn Carriages seen going up and down Main Street among the hustle and bustle of the Disneyland Park-goers. I don't know about you, but I absolutely love riding the Horse Drawn Trolleys at Disneyland. Something about hopping into one of these carts, feeling the slight bump forward as the horse takes off, the sound of the wheels as it rolls along the rails embedded in the street, the sound of the clip clip of the horse, and even the cling of the bell and level the driver does to change the speed (Brake system I believe) and to alert guests of the oncoming trolley. I have a great passion for that Trolley. But enough about me, it's time to get onto the pictures. My favorite details have to be the gas lamps on each corner of the roof, the bumpers located at the front and back of the trolley, the outcropping steps on the sides of the trolley for assistance into the cart, and the concave wall sections as well. Oh, and the supporting poles on either side of each bench is nice as well. Just to prove to you that this is not a fake, I shall show you the wheels on the underbelly. Also, sorry about the very awkward and tight seats. I tried other designs, but none of them seemed right, so I had to go with this design. Hey, at least Minifigs can be seated there in real life, just not in LDD. Yes, it does run on rails, just not the traditional L-Gauge rails. It has to run on modified 4 stud wide rails, much like the ones found in that Indiana Jones Temple of Doom Minecart set. Except you WILL have to get custom made curves. The ones provided in the set are too tight, and the Trolley will get stuck on the curves. It needs rails with the same curve as regular curved tracks. So so far, the only way to run this baby is by a straight line of track OR custom molds of tracks yourself. And now for the usual reference photos of the Horse Drawn Trolleys located on Main Street U.S.A. And an original horse drawn trolley that I do believe inspired the Main Street trolleys in a way. Below, I provided the LDD download, although do be warned. LDD likes to be stupid and says some bricks are not placed properly (The 4 posts on the corners holding the entire bloody roof up) It can be help up in real life, it's just that LDD doesn't know that. Oh LDD, unlimited bricks, limited on how to place them. I hoped you enjoyed. I know I had a blast creating this and listening to the music provided above. I have another trip to Disneyland planned tomorrow and the day after that, so hopefully I will get some more ideas on what to do. Maybe I can do the Disneyland Railroad Stations, preferably the Main Street and New Orleans Square/Frontierland stations. PS: Trolleys are considered trains, right? They run on rails and everything. If not, can someone please move this thread to the proper area? Thanks. Horse Drawn Carriage Exporting.lxf
  4. I recently just forgot to add in reference photos and pictures; Something I always do when I base a MOC off of something else. I suggest that, if you're really interested, to take a look at the photos and video. They're really nice photos, and the second video is really great to watch
  5. Hello, fellow skippers of the jungle. This is Skipper Albert Awol, the Voice of the Jungle, broadcasting on the DBC to all points unknown. If you’re within the sound of my voice, you are listening to AWOL Airwaves on the DBC. Attention skippers. Attention skippers. To anyone traveling up and down the main river to and from the Mother Outpost, a new River Outpost has been erected on the edge of the Barazwani River and is now open for trade. Not only will they trade basic provisions such as food, water, shelter, and the latest Entertainment Magazines, but they will also trade gas and gunpowder, as well as some unique native imports from the nearby archaeological dig. Start trading with the new River Outpost today! I had the sudden recent urge to do another build in LDD. My sudden urge was fueled by a recent visit to Disneyland and riding the Jungle Cruise quite a few times made me want to try and recreate the Boat House Queue. Although it turned out a little smaller than expected, it still turned out to be pretty good in my opinion, The backside of the River Outpost has the most detail, since it includes the dock as a slight cut-in into the building. Below is the main man's office. Officer, general, foreman, whatever you want to call him. It's the main office where most of the behind-the-scenes stuff is taken place. That red thing is a gas can just in case you're wondering. You'll see that be repeated in both red and grey. Below is the storehouse for any and all cargo being shipped in and out of the outpost. The open air trophy room. Native and family heir loomed shields on display. The attic above the trophy room is the Armory storing all the arms in case some of the local natives grow a bit crazy and require a little persuasion to be calmed down. Let's have a closer look at the dock, shall we? A fisherman leaves his line behind for a small lunch break. A local trader has stopped on by to drop off the goods he has packed into his motor-powered boat. Local archaeologists are transporting their findings to the outpost for storage A look at some other details. Sadly there is no download today, because the file is too big How can I show you the smaller details that I cannot get to now? Ah well, enjoy what I have then. EDIT: I forgot to add in the reference pictures I used while constructing. They are Flickr photos, so sadly, I could not copy the image's URL, but I highly do suggest you check out all the links. The Disney parks are well known for adding such great and luscious detail to their queues which I took A LOT of inspiration from. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/4319874315/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/5153958892/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/4319876869/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/4319875027/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/4319876153/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/4450320918/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/9979792@N04/4837959920/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/9979792@N04/4837347413/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/spencerlynnproductions/4288762907/lightbox/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/lorenjavier/4149519468/
  6. I like it! Very cute design! I love the very compact nature of this set. Especially love the first one's design. Has very small details I love, and that little grill is adorable. Also, I like the shrubbery found in the second build. It is a good shrubbery. I like the laurels particularly. I demand that you go out there and find another Creator Set that contains...another shrubbery! Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it beside the first shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two-level effect with a little path running down the middle. Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must build us a sports car...wiiith...the bricks in this set! Now go! Ni! Ni!
  7. B-RV-14E I don't know about you, but I just adore playing Sim City 4. After a while of play, an idea struck me as to create a MOC in LDD based on a building in Sim City 4. Wanting to keep things simple, I chose a low residential zone of my city and randomly picked a house. I landed on this cute and small design: A very small Doppelhaus (Says so in the game's files), or for those not wanting to Google it, it's also known as a semi-detached house After a couple hours of experimenting, I think I finally got the design down right, or at least close enough for me to say "That looks alright". A closer shot of the Doppelhaus. One of the Doppelhaus' Chimneys. Father going to work at a low density commercial zone on the other side of town to earn his Simoleons to pay for my city's 25.3% Tax Rate. Mother currently working in the garden growing cabbages, carrots, and either tomatoes or really large and probably mutated grapes. Seeing that The Sims live in a world where plants can eat other sims and fruit that can bring back the dead, giant mutated grapes don't seem abnormal. Kids playing with wooden swords out front. A view of the simple patio furniture. I experimented with different blocks to see what type of result I could get. Trash collection for waste, recyclables, and vegitation, as well as a (Poorly) done mailbox. I am hoping to do more of these. I may move onto another low density residential building or probably move onto low to medium density commercial or industrial building. Sorry to say, but I think high density buildings are a bit out of my league at the moment For anyone who wants it, the download for the Sim City 4 Dopplehaus is below.
  8. After recently watching Top Gear's episode on Netflix, I had the sudden urge to build my own Reliant Robin Rocket in Lego Digital Designer. I was also shocked at the low variety of Top Gear MOCs here, so I decided to add to that small list. So without a further-a-do...TONITGHT, on Top Gear! James becomes a blockhead! Richard becomes a blockhead! And I become a blockhead! Hello! Hello and welcome back to another episode of Top Gear! We shall revisit our ill-fated attempt at turning a Reliant Robin into a rocket. Richard 'Hamster' Hammond and James 'Captain Slow' May And because the fans demanded so, we shall include him. Some say that he assembles the crew to help build sets when there's not enough hands to go around. And that his entire house is built out of LEGO Friends bricks. All we know is... HE'S CALLED THE STIG! The LEGO versions of Jeremy 'Jezzer' Clarkson and The Stig Individual shots of the Reliant Robin. I am not that good at building vehicles, so I did my best to copy the Reliant Robin's shape, but it seemed to be more like a convoluted boxy shape. Yeah, the Reliant Robin looks like a box, so on that bombshell, I'm going to say goodnight everybody! Here are some real shots of the Reliant Robin Rocket used as references. (Tis a shame of what happened to the Robin in the...end ) That was fun to do, seeing as I love the Top Gear series and LEGO. I am hoping to do a few more of these in the future. Really hoping to do the one where they convert cars into amphibious vehicles. PS: If anyone wants the LDD file, I attached it below. Top Gear Reliant Robin Rocket.lxf
  9. An Industrial Revolution series would be very interesting to see! Imagine all the possibilities for sets containing gears, working machines, and what not. The accessories would also be fantastic! Not only would it help aid the Steampunk group of people, but it could also blend in with Pirates and possibly Western or even Modern MOC's if used appropriately. Yes, I have to agree as well. If you have ever visited a European city, the clash between the old stuff that stayed and the new stuff that's moving in is very prominent. This would also give TLC an excuse to mix up the Castle theme and City theme into one gigantic bucket. ...don't forget the streetcars. They were pretty much everyday life to city dwellers. http://i1137.photobucket.com/albums/n506/Brickstarrunner/RedCarTrolley2-1.png Lego, why you no make us old Streetcar!?
  10. Thanks for the LDD link! I liked it so much, I had to create a poster Cheers!
  11. Do you mind if I recolor this and use it for a LDD project of mine?
  12. As most of us know, the LEGO City line is pretty much set in a modern time period. But a couple of recent sets, such as The Fire Brigade, Town Hall, and Grand Emporium harkehns back to a less modern time and more of a nostalgic old time feel. Which then raised a question in my head: What if LEGO decided to do an Exclusive Lego City line based on a specific time period? What time period would you hope they'd do? I am really curious as to what your opinions would be considering the vast range of different City and Town MOC's based on different time periods, ranging from a clean and finely polished 1920's to a very gritty and urban 1990's. Personally, I hope they would go for a late 40's/early 50's style. Something about that period I absolutely adore, but I'm not sure what. The cars? The music? The stylized and idealized versions of ordinary everyday life expressed in their art? The white picket fence type of communities and feel? Not really sure what draws my attention to that era. But if they were to do an exclusive line based around that time period, I think I'd die of happiness right then and there. I would especially want to see them release streetcars or motor cars from that time. What time period would you want Lego to release as an Exclusive Lego City line?
  13. Should I get the M16 or get the M110? Hmmm... Bill, what do you think?
  14. I know I am a bit late (Seeing as the last post was made September), but I am wondering Fat Tony, may I share this with the MiceChat Forums and community? MiceChat is an entire website devoted to the Disney Parks and Geeks, and this is a really awesome find! I want to share this creation with them, because it really does deserve more views in my opinion. I'll give full credit and give links to both this forum post AND Flickr gallery. EDIT: Wow...I mean... WOW, I just looked at the rest of your sets, and I have to say, I am absolutely stunned. I am a Disney Geek and I feel the need to share this with others. With your permission, may I share these with the MiceChat community? I'll give full credit and all the links. These creations need to be spread man! Second EDIT: Anything else you got Disney? Looking through your posts and so far I have also founds a PotC diorama of the well scene. So much Disney, it makes my head spin
  15. OH! Oh my God, oh my God, oh my GOD! Being a man, this little house brought out the little girl inside of me. Not only is the outside flora cute, but it also works with the house design. Now the house is the main prize. The starkness of the bright yellow goes very well with the neutral white. the interior may be small, but it is very well organized. The downstairs contain the necessities; Food and entertainment, while the upstairs contains storage and the sleeping quarters. (Restrooms must be located in the outhouse not included, right? ) And to top it all off... SQUEEEEEE IT LIGHTS UP!!! I like to think of this house as a 5 Star Dinner. The little shrubbery in front acts like an appetizer. It entices you to have more while giving you a nice start. The main course is the house. Fulfills everything you need; Its cute, it all has a use, and it is small. As a dessert, it would be the lighting, giving you a nice finish to such a wonderful dinner.
  16. Is the package a Platinum Poker Chip? And before the delivery, was the Courier shot in the face and buried in a ditch but then dug out by a robot and taken to a town called Goodsprings? (If you understand the joke, you wik a pure diamond brick) I like the van. Fits right into any town or city. The only thing I would improve on is removing the doors on the cab, shortening the vechicle, and making the sticker transparent. (If that is all possible of course.)
  17. HA! And to think a lot of people hates stickers on LEGO This crossing gets my seal of approval!
  18. Oh...my...gosh... I amend you, good sir, because aside from LEGOs, my other hobby is gardening, and, I must say...I am astonished. The only thing I wished was there was a full cactus garden.
  19. For a first try, I like it. In fact, it looks a lot better then how I tried animation before Hope to see more projects from you in the future! And remember that old time saying, practice makes perfect!
  20. I like it very much. The railroad really catches my attention though The red Passenger train reminds me of an inner city transit while the Metrolink reminds me of an out of city transit. Now I think you have inspired me to do the same. Thanks man
  21. But how could the Grinch steal Chris if I am still here!?!/ BTW, that is still a pretty clever and simple scene you got there.
  22. Um, what happened to the picture. I hear talk about the ocean, sharks, and green hair, but all I see is a German Tank
  23. Its been a while since an update. You ok?
  24. Its awsome. I like it very much. Gives me an excuse to buy Belville off of Bricklink and play with this type of stuff build an iceburg and put it in your ships path. Also, just out of curiosity and pure lols, is one of your Belville figures named Nick? I will explain later
  25. The reason you don't have flames is because they want you to use your IMAGINATION The only reason I bought this set several times was to build a microfig army and get that cute little dragon.
