Wow...I mean, wow... ITS BEAUTIFUL! Words cannot express my deep love for a classic American 4-4-0 in the dry arid desert canyon coming out of a long, dark tunnel with steam billowing behind it! The only thing that poped my bubble is how it was just a diorama, and not a real, running layout (Think about it! TheBrickster's new Mexican line could look great when mixed with this!

REVIEW: 4793 Ogel Shark Sub
Brickstarrunner replied to Matn's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
For me, I would just get the set for the trans. green items and skeleton heads. Other than that, I don't know what to do with the rest of the parts -
Hello. Sorry I havn't been on lately, but I had alot of schoolwork. Anyways, at school, we have a class called Technology where we learn about inventions and machines. Today, we used LEGOs to build levers. These sets were in a small, rectangular box, about 8-9 inches long by 5-6 inches wide by about 2 inches deep. The box was yellow and had a clear plastic tray. It contained (I cannot remember how much of each brick and what) about 4 long technic beams, a few small 1x2, 1x4 and 1x6 technic beams, some black and grey connrectors, some 2x2 plates and tiles, a few 1x2 tiles, and (This is the important one) A black brick 6 or 8 studs long, 2 studs wide, and 2 studs high. It was a heavy brick because it had a weight in it. Out of 15 sets, about 7 sets were incomplete without this box. I wanted to help my teacher so I searched on Brickset.com and on Bricklink.com. No luck. If you can, can you please help me find a dealer that sells these bricks or sets? That would be appreciated

Don't worry, you havn't lost your touch. I think people's minds are just not on LEGO trains. Either that or they are somewhere else. I like it! Its a spooky MOC, but it has a kooky feel to it also. Its a great addition, and a MUST HAVE for any Halloween Train. Frankly I would of at least built a hand cart, but my camera broke. Happy hunting trick or treating! PS: All this Train stuff is great, but I am starting to have a sweet tooth for some WW MOCs. I created one, but I must get my camera fixed . Its inspired by Gravestone, even though it doesn't really relate to Gravestone at all

I will do my best to reply to topics I run across Monsieur! Only problem is that am starting to find it a little difficult to find a topic I want to reply to, but only problem is that the topic is too old to reply to, but I may get around that. However, I hope there will be some chances for a reply later. PS:The topics I like to look at are your Gravestone MOCs, but they are WAY too old to reply to. We need to see more Gravestone. In fact........ ....that was the way I found out about TheBrickster and Eurobricks on MOCpages

OOoohh... so much purple . Never saw a train that purple before . Love the design! I love every part of it! PS: When is the last train to Gravestone ?

The FIRST rule in anything to do with trains is that a railroader's first layout is always his best! Its his enthusiasm; he built it himself AND its his. -Ward Kimball #2 Layout Tip: If you want to build a LEGO layout, plan out where you want to put it. On a shelf? On a table? In the garage? Hanging from the ceiling? Its your choice. Also, make room to expand and for your other LEGO buildings and models. #3 Track Type: What will you be using? 12v? 9v? RC? Or Power Functions? Heres my tip: 12v for great accessories (ex: lights that come in sets), 9v for more power in your engines, RC if kids will play; you don't like electric track; electric track too exspensive; or want to run RC trains on your non RC layout, or Power Functions if you want more control over your trains. #4 How will you run it?: For 12v and 9v, if you put 2 trains on the same track and turn on the power, they both go in the same direction and sometimes at the same speed. For RC and Power Functions, you have unlimited control over your train. I like to classify these two groups; 12v & 9v = Runners; RC & PowerF. = Shunters. Runners are multiple trains that can only go in one direction at the same time (with a few minor acceptions). Shunters are multiple trains that can run in anydirection on the same track (with a few minor acceptions). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Still don't understand? Let me explain. With 12 & 9v, you have limitations with how you run your trains. If you have only one, thats not a big deal, but if you have two or more, if you try to back up one train, it backs up the other. This is solved with RC and Power Functions. You can have one train chugging along the track in one section while the other sits in the siding, not moving until told to (via controller). THUS you can SHUNT (giving to the name Shunters) in a yard while another is running on the main line all in one controller, while with 9 & 12, you cant. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have plenty more in my head, but that will be for some other time -This is Brickstarrunner, signing out!

Just imagine the many possibilities for a comic with these princess minifigures

New, Interesting Way to Do your Scenery on the R.R.
Brickstarrunner replied to Brickstarrunner's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I also got my inspiration from those old catalogs where they placed their model in a non-lego enviorment, such as on top of a paper mache mountain. Also, LEGOLAND inspired me. The way they mixed LEGO with the realistic setting of the outdoors was great. However, its your opinion, and I shall respect that. -
While searching Youtube, I came across a video. Its a normal train layout, toww loops and a few trains running, but the interesting thing is that the landscape is NOT made of LEGO. It shows that you can have alot more freedom when you do this. for example: -you can get more details, such as grass or trees or cracks in the cliff instead of studs -You can have running water in a more natural looking enviorment (Once again, going back to the Brickster's topic on water) -You can make your asphalt road actualy look like asphalt -DIRT ROADS -Roads can now do many things (go slantways, crossways, and upways without the restriction of a baseplate) -less bricks are involved, so that means more $$$ (Or Euros if you are non-American) to be spent on LEGO. Its simple to do this. i spend alot of time model railroading, so i find alot of videos on how to do model railroading stuff. (Supplies can be bought here. If you are in the model railroading hobby, you must surely know of Woodland Scenics. Good, quality model railroading supplies. I am not advertising though, ok ) (I will make a seperate topic, but I will tease you with how to make a road) ROADWAYS WAY 1: Good for people who want flat land For this one, you will need woodland Scenics Vinyl Turf (Scroll down the product page) #RG5151 - Road Kit with instructional video on how to use road kit on vinyl turf. STEPS: 1. Take out vinyl turf and road making kit 2. follow instructional video (if not, I THINK there are instructions that come with the kit) 3. MAKING ROAD: Make the road 6.3 inches wide or 20 studs wide 4. scrape off all the turf in your marked area 5. color the road black with the paint and paintbrush included in the kit 6. mark the dividing lines 0.3 - 0.4 inches or 1 stud thick 7. MAKING SIDEWALK: Make the sidewalk 2 inches wide or 6 studs wide 8. copy steps 4 and 5 9. add details with a pin or toothpick 10. if you want the road to look like it has been repaired recently, mix the black paint with glue. using a thick toothpick, dip it into the mix and spread across the road, creating a tar effect 11. If you dont like a black road, either use the sidewalk color or use a mix of a little black and some white 12. add your cars, minifigures, and other what-not to the street and road. Hope I opened your mind to a new and innovative way of doing your scenery This is Brickstarrunner, signing out!

Well, holy circlet! That so awsome! Being an American Steamer Guy, I just adore this.

Actualy, remember that video I showed you with the boat in the water in Hanburg, Germany? They placed a metal rod through the place. I might try that, except with a clear plastic rod and glued the parts toghether. I think, though, that when using fishing line, use small, light airplanes or helicopters. Great MOC. Love the ride, love this. Although not the est representation of the hitch-hikers, but hey, you don't see Haunted Mansion MOCs in the first place ^^ PS: If we are going onto a sort of "Disneyland" topic, why not try a go at Frontierland? I would like to see a Big Thunder Mountain or a Shooting Gallery? Think of all the possibilities for hiding any Gravestone items

Ok, this is going to be short because I'm going to type this up on my iPod Touch (and you don't want to know how annoying it is to type [and I can't put smilies D:]) But anyways, here's my idea: You know how you hang your model planes with strings attatched to the celling? Why not attatch it to a mechanism that swings the plane forward and back ward, and has it rise and fall? Imagine it. You can have an airplane, in your room or at a Brickcon or something, take off at a runway, make a lap around a city, and come down again? I will make a more, in depth topic in the morning with a primitive Microsoft Paint picture...er, Pacific Standard Time ^^

Hi. This is a little off topic, but this is my first topic I have started besides my "Hello, I'm New" topic Back on topic, I have read and replied to TheBrickster's Topic "Real Water in Your City" Real Water in Your LEGO City I responded, and I am quoting Please Note These videos contain NO LEGOs what-so-ever, but I am showing them to you the possibilities of using water on your layout. After searching high and low for an indoor railroad, I have stumbled upon a G scale video with a nice rustic town with running water, but what I am trying to say is that if they can build an indoor railroad with running water, I'm sure we can too. Indoor Model Railroad w/h Running water I have experimented with this a bit. I have found out that if you are using waterfalls, either place the track far away from the "Splash Zone" or use RC Track because I lost some good 9v tracks due to water splashing on the tracks. Ponds and lakes offer great oppertunities, such as this neat video I found. Its GRAND quality and is part of the world's largest model railroad: Miniatur Wunderland located in Germany. It has floating boats (we could use the LEGO floating boats using Power Functions, but going back on topic) and glass to see underwater. (I reccomend using the HD and full screen to your advantage) I hope these little videos I found help inspire you to put real, running water in your LEGO City, Train layout, or just about any other topic that can use a good splash of H20! Night everybody

I love it, I love it, I love it! May I steal borrow this design? Its so cute and small that any modular city can house one. PS: What would you think if you put on a custom made sticker that said "Soda Fountain" or "Candy Shoppe"?
-
Since my second hobby is model railroading, I have seen G-Scale (Garden Scale) model railroaders put railroads in their house with running water. If it can be done in G-Scale, it can be done in Lego Scale PS: But the only problem for me is that I am building a 9v track with a waterfall, but the water keeps splashing onto the metal rails even though the rails are so far away

Fantastic! Incredible! I love the roundness on the brown passenger car. Nice use of the doors also!
-
Love it. I could just imagine all the hours I would spent lying on the floor loking at that thing zoom around on track. My personal best has to be the use of the goblets as a horn.

Wow, bea-U-ti-FUL that one is. I am still wondering what is better; The engine or the rolling stock

Hello, my name is Brickstarrunner. The 3rd runner in the family, only one, and I come from a land far away in the mystical relms of no-being. If that was too hard, just call me Bongo Let me give you a quick run down about me and my MOCs, WIPs, and other Projects Ok, I am a new player. I WILL admit I am under the age of 18. Teenager to be exact, but I will act accordingly to the rules and be as mature as I can. If that bothers anyone, please tell me. If I have to stop using Eurobricks, so be it, but that will not stop me from looking at the website as a guest. Currently, I started my account at 9:48, AM, Pacific Standard Time USA. I am having a little difficulty though. My so called "Fast and Modern Computer" has a fault in it. When ever I log in, it redirects me to the front page as a guest, even though I am a registered user. This same problem has happened in the same computer on Youtube and other websites that require a username and password, so I had to switch to my old, slow, but still reliable computer. My MOCs, WIPs, and Current and Upcoming Projects I am very low on money to spend on Legos, but I did manage to scrape out two MOCs. I am also in a busy and frantic WIP. MOC 1: Apacolyptic Fort Under Seige Its a great MOC in my opinion. Use up all my grey and bley peices, but the effect is nice enough. I have no pictures yet, but just imagine a 12 x 24 base enclosed in a rockey valley with a wind mill, a small garden, a sniping tower, an ammo cache, an a radio room run 24/7. The characters include: 3 Official LEGO Robots (2 Exo-Force and One Droid) 4 Custom Made Robots (1 Foot Unit, 2 Hovor Units, and 1 Spider Unit) 7 Animals (3 Lizards from Dino Attack, 3 Glow-in-the-Dark Spiders from a Bionicle[Which I like to call Headcrabs ] and 1 mouse 10 Fighting Units (1 Stormtrooper, 1 Cowboy[Don't Ask], 1 Nearly Decapitated Man, 1 ENTIRELY Decapitated man, 2 Riflemen, 1 Police Officer, 1 Pyro, 1 sniper, and 1 musketeer) 3 Support Units ( 2 Gardeners and 1 Radio Manning the Radio) MOC 2: 99.9% Pick-A-Brick Built Miniature Floating City Sounds hard to believe, but its true. I got mine for free! Yes, FREE. It was my B-Day, and a friend of mine payed for the bricks I picked out. I got home, and built a base and worked my way upward until I got to city level. I then built 1 hotel, 1 Office Tower, and 1 Hospital, all with escape pods. Now, the 0.1% is a 1x1 round stud that connects the hospital to the ground. Ill get pictures some day with instructions. WIP: Repairing the Town Plan Sad thing was, a family came over while I was away and I came back to see my plan in ruins . My construction site was demolished, the City hall's pillars and windows broke off, and the Car wash's walls were torn down. There was cotton peices everywhere (I used them to simulate smoke in my original version), my cars were smashed, and to top it all off, there was a Bionicle robot in the middle of it. I also lost my most prized possesion, that little newspaper 2x2 tile peice . I am under heavy reconstruction, but I never found that little peice ever again. That was me, and I would just like to say a few more words: I hope we have a wonderful time MOCing here in the wonderful relms of Eurobricks!
