  1. I like all of these variations. Shows how diverse LEGO can really be without adding any other parts to the set. PS: Am I the only one who thought in their mind "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads." when they read the title of the post?
  2. I love it all, but I think you should build a vacuum cleaner to clean all the dust off
  3. Agreed. Your figures have seen better days Kind of reminds me of an Ed Wood production
  4. Aw lucky. I just bought a 7939 Cargo Train at my local Toys R' Us and at the bottom I found a 30005 Imperial Speeder Bike. I need more soldiers and weapons for an upcoming project that I might post(Once I get my camera fixed, and I already have enough Stormtroopers for battle. Still, I find it kind of funny replacing all the cargo with Star Wars items.
  5. Ok, I got 3 things to say; 1. I like it. Its something everyone could make, yet its so different 2. You are not the only Disneyland R.R. enthusiast out there ;) 3. When I think of a "Combine Car", I think of those shiny, sleek, menacing trains found in the PC game Half Life 2 More Info on the Combine Car I am talking about
  6. My WIP interpretation of the Gringot's ride, including an entrance/exit station, a line, and 2 (poorly) made minecarts with filler goblins (Picture is a bit heavy) Post your suggestions, because in my opinion, it is just too bland and whie
  7. Hey, are you free for some help, because that layout plan got me into trying to make a Gringots bank ride. Once I get done, mind if I post it here
  8. When I was 3, I took a 1x1 and shoved it up my nose. It got stuck up there for days until a doctor came and pulled it out Lets just say a poor 1x1 was never seen again
  9. I like the lighting outside. Really gives it a "living" feeling. Plus that custom guitar is cool
  10. Off Topic: Man, its been a while since I posted here On Topic: You got any photos to share? Because I never went there before, but I would like to see it from a "Human" view, not a "Mini Person's" view.
  11. Ok, its just such a simple, easy solution. Why havn't I thought about this before. A GREENHOUSE Its too simple! Not only could you have real plant life along with soil and all the other natural need, but it is also protected from the "outside" enviormental factors. Will the constant change in temperature break your bricks? Nope. In a greenhouse, there will always be a single, human controlled temperature. Will the sun make your bricks fade into white? This is a little off topic, but if a colored brick can fade to white, what will a white brick fade into no problem! The tinted glass will slow down or even stop the fading of bricks! You can even place covers on the inside of your greenhouse and use artificial lighting (trust me, they are easy to use. I have lizards that use UV lamps). Are pests running around in your garden? CALL PEST CONTROL A green house will solve that! Because of the enclosed walls, no pest can get in! And if it does, where can it run? No where! Its all too perfect! Oh wait...let me check the price of a greenhouse... $700 USD I think I will stick with INDOOR LEGO Railroads...
  12. "Hey there. I heard you just got a new job!" "Thats right! Its the best in the world!" "What is that?" "I am a Metro Link driver." "Where at?" "On the 2nd Level Railroad." "Wait, isnt that the one that runs right over McGullen's Farm and Old Town?" "Yep" "and isn't it true that the pillars that support the track are planted right in the middle of the street?" "Yep" "AND I have heard that the Chef at the Train Station keeps complaining about the rumble of the Metro as it passes by?" "Yep" "So...what DO you do anyways?" "Well, first the people have to climb onto the roof of one of the Old Town buildings, then they have to wait on the bridge. We didn't have enough room for a station platform on the 2nd Level, so we used the bridge instead." "How much is admission" "Well, the admission is $100" "WHAT!?!?" "Yea. The only currency we have are $100 bills. Everyone keeps on losing their coins when it drops onto the carpet and the vaccuum cleaner comes by." "Ok, so after the people pay their money, where do they go?" "Well, seing this is a small continent, and the only stop is the bridge, they get on board the train, take their seats, drive them around a couple of times, then drop them back off at the bridge again" "..." "They like it..." "So all those heavy taxes put upon the citizens were to build that Metro that just takes people around in circles?" "Yep" "You know what, forget it, I'm backing my bags and moving to LEGOLAND. I heard the land value is really high at the moment..." "You mean your leaving?" "Yes" "Don't leave me! I'm the only pale skinned minifigure around here! People will think I am weird!" "Sorry, but I am moving! Besides, did you read BRICK-JOURNAL Yet? They said that some of the best women are headding to the LEGOLAND beaches to catch some sun. I cant miss this!"
  13. $6.99 USD for the original price? Dang, I had to pay $20.00 for mine at Brickworld '09. It looks nice and all, but still, $20.00! I think they take advantage of us at Cons
  14. I am really, REALLY surprised that NO ONE, and I mean, NO ONE has ever brought up... , a full, living, breathing world set in the last few years of the Wild West, where the Old West was making its transition into the Modern World. Its a free roaming game, which means you can do anything, anywhere, at anytime! Your actions will control your life style too. Make good decisions, and your fame will increase. Make bad decisions, and your fame will dramaticaly decrease. Why am I showing you this? Well, I fear that the community is losing its touch on the Old West, so I thought I would kick start it again with a, if you will excuse me, a KA-BOOM Literaly, not only will the game inspire you to create more Wild West MOCs, but it is also very beautiful to look at. In fact, I will show you some pics to give you some inspiration of what I mean "Beautiful". Trust me, it WILL inspire you to make more Wild West MOCs
  15. This SHOULD be a hidden easter egg in the Rock Band video game series
  16. It looks great, but it seems too wide in my opinion.
  17. I love it! Its perfect! Incredible! just wondering...when will you get into the "mine" aspect of, well, mining. You know, tiny tunnels held up by rickety wooden timbers with a small mine track with a rusty ore car slowly making its way up the track with miners working hard with picks and shovels at the walls, all done in the dim, orange glow of a solitary lantern, precarious hanging from a timber on a wall...
  18. Grrr, it won't download for me If I can't get it to work, is there anyway that there is an article with the same words from the brodcast?
  19. For me, I'd do what would do. He would display his trains up on the walls, but he would occasionally run them because he once said ,"If you just leave them there, they are just collecting dust!PS: This is VERY unrelated to the topic, but I just want to shed a little backstory on this amazing guy. Ward Kimball was a Disney animator, working alongside with Walt Disney. He worked on such classics like 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,' 'Dumbo,' 'Fantasia,' 'Pinocchio' and 'The Three Caballeros'. He also shared a personal love intrest for trains with Walt (Got that information from a DVD. Forgot the name, don't have it anymore). The two used to go to train cons and railways when they had the time. They were both "insane" (in a good way) train enthusiasts. Why? Walt Disney kept a ride-on miniature train in his backyard, but Ward Kimball took it even further; He not only had vintage, antique American and European model trains, but (heres the good part he also had a real live railroad complete with depot full of antique railroad items, watertower, switches, barn to house the train, a handcart, a trolley, a vintage firetruck, and two American 4-4-0 steamers with boxcar, a gondola, passenger car, caboose, and a shed to house it all! All of this in HIS backyard! (sorry about the boldness, but it was just too god to leave normal font There are more videos, pictures, articles, etc about his Railway, but I am giving TOO much Sadly, Ward Kimball passed away in 2002, but worse than that, his railway was demolished along with the track, depot, watertower, house, etc. The live steam trains and some of the railroad cars (I hope ) got sent to a museum to "collect dust" (as Ward Kimbal would say). His antique toys and model trains were auctioned off to bidders. His railroad had the same fate as Walt Disney's (His railway was demolished for more room for other houses, but his trains were saves). Tis' was a sad tale indeed. Well, sorry for getting "Off-Track" , but I just wanted to share "a little" backstory on what inspired me to make this reply. And BOY, was it LONG
  20. Very, VERY interesting topic TheBrickster. For me, I just LOVE tunnels. Let me give you a little back story; So now I get back to talking about tunnels. I think that TLC will not make a tunnel for these reasons; 1. Bricks - Producing LEGO bricks is very exspensive (and thats why large sets cost a truckload of cash/euro). Molds cost even more, especially if they are not the regular "square" type of brick 2. Size Thats going to be a problem. TLC cannot estimate how long/tall a train can be. I have seen many trains here in Eurobricks. Some go by the classic 6 stud wide rule, while others go by the 8 wide, and some I see got 7, 9, or even 10! Plus there is a height issue. Does your train have a high boiler? Low boiler? Or no boiler at all? Is the smokestack tall or short? Will the train be running on overhead wires? How will those wires fir into the tunnel? How tall will the cab be? Etc, etc, etc... You see, TLC cannot estimate how big the tunnel will be. If they release the wrong type, they spent alot of money making and packaging them and it would be a waste. 3. The mountain itself You have a tunnel. Why do you have a tunnel? To have a hole through a mountain. What do you need to make a tunnel? A mountain! (I will not go into subway tunnels or just arches that lead into buildings, but real tunnels leading into the mountains). Most kids I know do not have enough bricks to create a mountain, not even the correct color! (Have you ever seen a blue, red, yellow, green, gray, black, and tan mountain in real life? I don't think so) and for those expert builders, making a mountain is exspensive! EDIT: I will edit this post. I have an appointment in 2 minutes at the library. This was done on a Library computer
  21. I may live down south where there are many deserts and all, but what I am most fond of are steam trains up north in places like Oregon and Washington and Alaska. I think it is because I was born in Washington and grew up with trains there.
  22. Is it just me, or does that remind you of one of those Railroad Museums in the city, like the California State Railroad Museum. (Ok, the last one is not from the California State Railroad Museum, but you get the point, right?)
  23. I don't know. I would mostly suggest mabey one passenger car, two boxcars, two flatcars, and a caboose. Best keep it plain and simple. PS: Or mabey you could have like an army transport train. I know you do have alot of old Wild West sets, so why not make a troop carrier?
  24. HA !!! I actually have a 1,000 peice puzzle (Never completed it though ). Its not a steam train though, but a yellow and silver Rio Grande #5771 with one engine, a B-unit, and three coaches. It is running on top of a low stone bridge perched above a rushing river with some sort of fisherman-cowboy-guy in the foreground and in the backround the beautiful Sierra Mountains. The backround looks like the one in your picture, minus all the fog and snow. Although this stuff might be tricky to recreate in LEGO form though. I am probably guessing that the train and (if you have one) foreground would be minifig scale while the backround is microscale. PS: I am trying to find the picture on the web and post it.
  25. Aw, how sweet and cute it is Reminds me of when my dad used to take me out to train shows. I remember that...
