Custom brick color in LDD
Leewan replied to nxtstep101's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Use the extended mode, you'll be able to use every brick in every color. If you want to color several brick at once, select them, create a group from your selection, select the bucket tool, and click on the group (in the group tab) to change the color of all your bricks. I hope it's clear. -
You must be refering to this post, but you seem to forget his next post where he says it's a joke. If you don't want to believe him, it's your choice, but please, don't lie to discredit him. Okay, I'll tell you again : he saw prototypes of the sets at the Lego France HQ back in October. So yeah, things might have changed since then, and perhaps what he says isn't 100% accurate because he doesn't perfectly remember what he briefly saw over two months ago. But still, he's 100% trustworthy. At least, I trust him. I take this post as a proof. He gave us, four months in advance, the official french names. Not a rough translation, or a random guess, no, the actual names (we usually have to wait until they're released on the s@h to get official translations). Also, remember the first Chima Ultrabuild pics ? He provided them.

The Protector of Jongle is badass ! His sword is cool.

I think it's rather gonna be trans. fluore. redd. orange / Trans-Neon Orange rather than trans. red... Anyways, thanks for the details, Risgrynsgrot.

Are there any numbers that could help identifying the "faulty" molds ? Perhaps you guys have the same mold numbers on your loose parts.

Very cool, especially the head. The mechanism is well thought. I wish I had the parts to build it.

This is brilliant, WARHEAD, once again. My favorites are Gobbs, Fuzzwuzzle, and Corvidarr. How much time do you spend on each MOC ?
-
Yeah, true, it can become a problem if you want to buy all the sets... Very funny, especially the much larger than Ekimu! and the four legs, just like real scorpions! Lego should definitely use this to advertise their new sets.

I don't think so, the big vehicles came with alternate versions of main characters (Axalara / Jetrax / Rockoh), or less important characters (Skopio / Thornatus / Dropship). Alright, thank you, Risgrynsgrot !

Bigger than Tahu or Kopaka ? I'd love to see a proper titan-sized character (although it would mean a more expensive set). Interesting find.

Hate them because they deliver on time ? If there's a delay, I can understand that you hate them (and yet, it seems excessive), but hey, they're just doing their job. I'll go to the Lego Store on Saturday, I'll pick Tahu, Gali, Lewa and the Protector of Jungle (so I'll get the lovely flower cart ).

What we see in the Pohatu animation is a statue, which isn't necessarily the same color as the character it represents. Do you remember LoMN ? It means nothing, really. He never said that there would only be villains, and neither did I. But okay, I'll rephrase : most of the new characters will be villains.

PoE is too big to my taste. But the other ones are cool, my favorite is the PoI, the med. azure looks great here. Now you should make a group shot. ;)

He said that there would be combiners between the Protectors and the Toa. He went to Lego France HQ in October, and saw the sets in a display case (among other future sets). He said, back in October, that he saw the sets planned for August (now we know thanks to the poster that the new sets will indeed be released in August), that there wouldn't be many sets, and that they are villains. I recently asked him if there would be dark blue or tan / dark tan sets in the summer wave (after having built this MOC), and he said that there would not be dark blue, but that "some kind of tan isn't impossible". It's not a guess or something. He saw the sets. Is that concrete enough ?

Yes, the dark blue Skull Spider made me think that we could get more dark blue this year, but we'll have to wait... But why would we need a third mask maker ?Also, I think the Skull Grinder's mask is the black one on the magazine teaser, not the MoCo.

The 2H sets are already finalized (BTW, according to Exo-6, there's a chance that we'll get a tan / dark tan set (not 100% sure), and there won't be any dark blue set), so they're not testing anything for this year's sets. I don't know if the the Toa will be the same in 2016, but I can see Ekimu forging new masks for either the Toa (he could make masks with the original powers (i.e. Shielding, X-Ray vision, levitation, etc)) or the Protectors. Right now, it's the only way I can see them being truly upgraded. Or they could travel in the past, like it was theorized a couple days ago, and meet ancient Toa. So I can see three options for 2016 : 1) Tahu and the others stay, but receive new masks / new armors from Ekimu (very likely) 2) The Protectors become the Heroes (they could also receive new masks / new armors from Ekimu) (likely) 3) The current main characters travel back in time, and we discover six ancient Toa (Let's call them Vakama, Matau, Nuju, Nokama, Onewa and Whenua :p) (not likely)

Almost, it's actually this and this. I really like the Protector of Water. The Protector of Fire, not so much, I think the legs need shorter shells. Unfortunately, #4 shells don't exist in red, they would have been perfect. But perhaps it would look better if they were attached sideways.

Oh, yeah, I never thought of that. Interesting, thanks !

Hum, I never thought of that, but if Ekimu is buried in the Ancient City, then the Toa will have to defeat the LoSS to enter it to get to him, and perhaps, when they will awake him, they will also awake the Skull Army.

That's how I understood the videos, yeah. And IIRC, there's smoke coming out of the crater when they found Ekimu, which means the crater is quite recent when they find him (BTW, they have the same weapons as the present-time Protectors, so they might pass them to their sons just like the masks. Which is quite creepy for the Earth Protector, would that mean that he has to rip the gatling gun out of his chest ?). That, indeed, would make zero sense. But they could release a mask which covers the whole face (so it would indeed be a whole / full mask), but its lower half would be inspired by the Vahi's design. But on an other hand, people would be even more confused and generate dozens of pages of sterile debate. Okay, actually, I think a brand new design for the MoT would be a preferable option. But a Vahi-inspired MoT (but once again, covering the whole face) isn't that silly, is it ?

The Vahi is certainly there to tell the older fans that the Mask of Time (which is a different mask) will have a major role for the story (actually, it already has an important role, since the Protectors used its powers to "summon" the Toa) without revealing the real MoT design. They're planning something big, and they want us, the older fans, to know it, because it's a reference only us will understand. And it's a way to keep us interested, and it works very well.
