  1. See this article on Technicbricks for details.
  2. Not sure why you would want to convert txt to pdf but here's a handy tool: http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp
  3. One thing to keep in mind is that there's a problem with putting two M-motors on one output of the V2 receiver. If you want to use 2 M-motors then you need to use the old receiver.
  4. The L-motor seems to be a much better option than the M-motor. More torque, easier to mount and still 3x3. I've used one in my BR 55 steam engine: BR55 Drive train by Duq, on Flickr
  5. Hi, DaisyDuq and I are coming too! We are taking care of our own accommodation. Looking forward to the event!
  6. Hi Adamski, that's an impressive engine! Lots of nice detail all around, especially the textures on the side. In 8-wide this would quite a beast...
  7. Cara, just to be sure: the rechargeable battery box is not a battery box for rechargeable batteries; you can't take anything out of the box to charge separately. The whole box is one closed unit that contains a rechargeable battery and that can only be charged using the charger/transformer. Option 1 is to go for the rechargable battery box and transformer, option 2 is the normal battery box and use it with either rechargeable or regular AAA batteries. In my models the battery box is usually impossible to remove without dismantling half the model so I prefer the rechargeable battery box. It's also much easier to charge than AAA batteries; a typical battery charger only takes 4 and the train needs 6 so you'd need two chargers.
  8. Not sure what you're looking for. You're right, the pictures aren't great, the cars look like the ones from the Maersk train and your engine is just the one from 3677. Still, you've got yourself a train. Welcome to the world of Lego model railways. I hope there will be a little more of yourself in your next MOC. Daylight photo's usually look best but I guess that's not easy to do in Sweden this time of year... Do a search of the forum and the rest of the internet. There's plenty of tips for better photos. For starters, get yourself a tripod (or build one) and use the timer on your camera, and don't use direct flash.
  9. The City trains, like the current 7938 & 7939, usually come with everything you need; track, motor, remote control. The Exclusive/ Creator Expert trains like the Emerald Night (10194), Maersk (10219) and Horizon Express (10233) do not have track or motors. There is currently an extended Horizon Express pack that includes all the PF items you need to motorise it (but still no track).
  10. Have a look at Philo's famous comparison pages for motors, receivers, and batteries. The V2 receiver can easily handle the power consumption of 4 PF train motors (or 4 XL motors) but the battery packs can't supply that sort of power. You would have to add a second battery pack if you want to run more than 2 motors.
  11. I'm about to buy my first smartphone. I was thinking of the HTC One mini but that doesn't appear to have the IR Blaster. So now the choice is HTC One (a little bigger than I'd like and more expensive) or Samsung S4 mini (doesn't look nearly as good as the HTC ). I've also heard about IR that plugs into the earphone jack. Anyone have experience with that? Any thoughts on HTC One vs Samsung S4 /S4 mini?
  12. Really? I'm pretty sure the 9V controller does not use PWM. As far as I know that was only introduced with PF.
  13. Yup, the Northlander is a former Dutch TEE train. In 1977 it was shipped to Canada and apparently in 2006 it was back in the Netherlands: I believe it's since been restored back to its original livery.
  14. The station is cute - my favourite detail is the upside-down antenna for the drain pipe. The star of the show is the railbus though. As Peter said, the construction of the front is genius! Good to see you Flickr. You might also want to join the Lego Train Ideas group...
  15. Just checked my (limited) stock and found I have 9V switches with the straight guide and RC/PF ones with the bent one. I wouldn't mind bringing this up in the ambassador forum but what exactly is the problem? This looks like an improvement to me. It doesn't break anything. We can always create an a and b version on Bricklink if necessary.
  16. Not sure that list exists. You can get the instructions from Brickset and just take notes while you step through...
  17. BR 65's little sister ;-) Nice model!
  18. I'm sorry, there is nothing 'inspired by' in these two models. They are simply copies of Michael Gale's designs.
  19. Nice build! That's a great addition to the ever expanding LEGO KoF family!
  20. That's a nice small town station. I like the effect of the roof. With those bicycles out the front it has to be Dutch ;-)
  21. 1x2x2 in light grey. That would be this one then: Svad, is there a reason all your posts are in a larger font then what the rest of us use?
  22. Hi Svad, there are many ways to avoid the hole beside the front window. Apart from using a sticker I think most methods will involve using different pieces for the window. Which isn't bad, because I think these windows are too small if I look at the picture of the original. You might be better off using the 2x2 flat windows. They're a bit taller and have a fully closed side.
  23. Hey Prince Magic it would help if you could make your sentences a little shorter because with those sentences that go on for two or three lines and never stop and jump all over the place I don't really understand what you're trying to say so it's kinda hard to help because I don't understand the problem. Can you explain this or give a link to the video? I don't get why the solution from the Emerald Night (10194) won't work for this train.
  24. Never noticed the date when I replied. Having missed this moc the first time around I don't mind it getting a bump....
  25. Arnold! I'd forgotten about them... My dad had mostly Fleischmann, Minitrix and Roco but also the odd Arnold model. I've uploaded some illustrations of how I managed the two turret roofs: Hex turret steps by Duq, on Flickr Square turret steps by Duq, on Flickr
