Nur simply shook his head and grinned as the drunken time-displaced king rambled on. "A general, you say? Have you spent much time in the arena they have here? I'm sure all us heroes could benefit from your decades+ of combat knowledge. Perhaps you could start with me? I've been wanting to get better adept at using a blade." OoC: Poor Nur has no idea how powerful Boomingham's weapons are.

En Sabah Nur raised an eyebrow before he accepted the 50 gold (122+50=172 - Thorny Diadem). Evil? It very well could be. "Ah, it was passed on to me in my second mission by the cleric Ratibor as I was the most magically inclined of the group. Unfortunately I was never able to unlock the thing's true potential. If ye don't like it, you could always give it as a gift to a young lass-" Nur visibly winced as Boomingham put on the helm. He shrugged then relaxed as diadem didn't seem to affect the burly man. "Only my latest quest has been off the island. My first took me under the city. Unfortunately we weren't successful and never caught the thief. My second mission took me to a school here in Eubric. The place was haunted with ghosts. A tough one, almost died. It was my first encounter with the undead and I'm not looking forward to the next. And my lastest adventure was with Atramor here, chasing down some piratey types. How do you think we fared, Atramor?"

With a lull in the action, En Sabah Nur again returned to the Hall from the arena. He nodded to Alexis as the crowd grew around her and her new companion. She was quite good with animals. The baby bird was where it belonged. Nur wondered how long before it reached adulthood. Those things seemed to age pretty quickly. He ordered a drink before joining some other heroes... "Ah, Boomingham, Atramor, you two seem to be having an intense discussion. Pardon me for interrupting but could I interest either of you in this magical crown? As you can see, I'm quite partial to my bandana and the diadem has never sat right on top of it. It'll add extra power to your swings but...you may feel a bit woozy the first time you put it on. You know, as the magic takes hold of ye." He removed the Thorny Diadem - (suitable for anyone, +3 to power, but -6 to maximum health) from his satchel and placed it on the table. "Boomingham, I'm sure someone with your high constitution and, er...girth would have no trouble shaking off the weakening effect. This ornate item could be yours for the small fee of 50 gold!" Nur leaned back in his seat and absorbed the atmosphere of the Hall. He knew how the Thorny Diadem had affected him but perhaps it would affect another differently? Either way he hoped to make some coin.

Yes, it was quite generous. @Endgame - How's that profile pic coming along?

If a cleric heals an undead enemy and rolls SHIELD, does the cleric heal the party or the enemies? I don't remember.

Nur had enjoyed watching the arena sparring matches put on by some of the heroes. He thought it was nice of Alf to let one such combatant beat him in combat in order to boost the new hero's confidence. He went up the Hall stairs to see who was present. He spotted the baby phoenix next to Alexis amd began to stroke his chin. If only he'd had a ruby he would have merged it with the bird to serve as a combat summon. Nur chuckled at the awkward encounter between the abomination and the naga before heading back to the arena.

To Hybros, Calm down. That is too much Damage output. You are not a barbarian. - Jebediahs "I've got Z-mail."

Nur & Sarick challenge the new paladin friends Cronk & Boomingham! (if you need a test match)
-
Nur folds his arms and rests from the back row hoping to see the confusion spell take effect. "As you wish. I shall attack with my dagger from the back row."
-
My favorite villains are the Duras sisters, Lursa and B'Etor ( their cleavage) and the Duras house in general for all the trouble they caused my favorite character, Worf.

I still think an opportunity was missed here. Sandy ultimately gave you the power decide. I don't think it's fair to go through four weeks of down time when the players could have been participating in another quest only to get their original items back and nothing more. The final post could easily be edited to add something as simple as "the party become wiser from the time travel experience and gain a level."
-
Nur unfurls some parchment and reads the incantation from the Scroll of Confusion. He directs the spell at Durkon from the back row.
-
"Alright. I am ready to proceed. Good luck."
-
En Sabah Nur scoffs at the elf. "Hah, I don't take credit. It seems you aren't familiar with the concepts of inflation, supply and demand, hmm? I tell you what, last three rounds in the arena with me and I'll give you the scroll if I haven't sold it by the time you challenge me." Nur turns his back on the mage and continues to attempt to sell Scroll of Confusion for 200 gold.
-
Nur arrives at the marketplace. After failing to reach an agreed upon price with the established merchants, he decides to setup on a corner to find a buyer. "I am willing to sell a rare Scroll of Confusion for 200 gold!" En Sabah Nur would wait awhile before attempting to contact the shady dealer once again.
-
En Sabah Nur nods at the reply from Gurnam. Hm, a lot of paper work. Quite efficient though. Nur accepts the 100 gold and passes his baby phoenix to Alexis. "You're better off with her, little one. Take care you two." Not knowing if the bird understood him, Nur heads to the market place when he's stopped by Atramor. "Eh, I'm afraid not. It's not a particularly impressive weapon but I've had it a long time. It has no backstory, it wasn't a keepsake from my father or anything but I don't plan on parting with it."
-
I thought about passing the bird on to a ranger eventually but the opportunity presented itself quicker than I'd anticipated with Alexis' offer immediately after quest. Nur has only enountered three rangers, Erdathcath, Skrall and Alexis. He doesn't feel close enough to Erdathcath, he thinks Skrall and magic don't mix well, and Alexis already has a couple of magical summons so he went with her. He was never going to sell the baby to the wrong person, I wouldn't let him. Is there any way the members can get the two levels of experience they were supposed to achieve upon Boomingham's win? Or at least some compensation in the form of experience or gold for the long waits? EDIT: edit instead of double post... Yeah, I was agreeing with you on this when you posted but you got overruled. From the battle results, if they'd have followed your plan two enemies would have been defeated and players' attacks defaulted to the raider preventing free hits anyway. Also the special doesn't state you get hit for full damage in back row so I'd call shenanigans on your KO. Good roleplay trying to convert your target. I lol'd.

En Sabah Nur raised an eyebrow at Alf's proposal to build a house. He'd like to see the finished project. As his attention returned to Alexis and Mandy, Nur's mind began to wander. He saw a vision of a young girl with a flaming gumball blasting the poor phoenix and cackling as it reconstituted itself before she hit it with another spell and cackled even harder. This led to the thought of Nur about to be attacked by a critical hit and Mandy intervening to absorb the blow before turning to ash. No, that was no better fate for the bird than the abusive mage. Nur continued to watch the evoker and phoenix interract and smiled lightly. He did have a high regard for magical beings and the idea of this poor bird in the wrong hands turned his stomach. The black market is not the best place for little Mandy. This Evoker on the other hand seemed a perfect fit. I believe she showed me a giant magic thunderbird before our quest truly began. Perhaps the birds will get along well... Nur's eyebrow raised again as another thought occurred to him. With his new profession the elf's magic flute would be a welcome addition to his collection of magical trinkets. Hm, let's not be greedy... "Well Alexis, I can't think of a better pairing. I'll part with her for 100 gold."

A future QM could create an ability for the phoenix that works in Quest-only. Maybe all characters that roleplay with a pet could get a bonus ability in such a quest...

Gurnam Needletooth: Do you deal in the movement of exotic animals as well as rare items? - Interested Potential Customer Nur places the number one on the label. "I hope I labeled this correctly. A reply should send it back to me without me having to add my name? Hmm...I've got Z-Mail."
-
Yeah, go ahead and name him/her and interract however you see fit. I haven't thought of any story for it yet. EDIT: I'll join that Evoker clan someday with my pet rock. hehe
-
"Ah, what a good idea. I had forgotten your type has a way with animals." Nur set the baby phoenix on the table and chuckled as it hopped about. "Perhaps a pleasant melody from your flute might also be helpful." He wondered if he slew the bird once it reached adulthood if he could then harvest an endless supply of phoenix essences. Dismissing the thought as too cruel Nur pondered how much he could get for the bird on the black market. At least 500 gold no doubt. En Sabah Nur grinned.

The companions ransacked Nur's gem pouch with the Emerald going to Ellaria, the Sapphire to Namyrra, the Ruby to Atramor, and the Aquamarine to Alf. The mage sulked as he was left with his original two gems. OoC: Ok, I won't post in here again for real this time. Ty for quest!
-
Nur hands Ellaria an Emerald from his pouch of gems. He finds a seat in the Hall and waits for the pale skin mage and rogue to make their selection from the remaining gems (Aquamarine, Ruby, Sapphire).

"Anwyl, I'd like to purchase Fauxthril Shuriken (WP: 5, ranged weapon, retrievable, suitable for rangers and rogues) x3 for 150 gold (172 - 150 = 22 gold left over). My thanks."
