  1. Wow I guess Lego really does listen to the fans. I remember a while back, a couple of users wanted an arrest scene from ROTS. I'd like TLG make new heads for a more realistic scene since its not CW.
  2. I guess its personal preference then. Lego has used the same opening wing concept from the first x-wing to the latest ARC-170 star fighter. I really don't like how the wings snap into position, even though in the movies, its shown as a smooth transition.
  3. Not sure if you mentioned this, but the opening/closing of the S-Foils are much different. Instead of turning the nozzle on like the ARC-170 star fighter which gradually opens, this one snaps into place at the cost of more effort. That's my only gripe about this set.
  4. This is one of my few surviving Bionicle figures. Ever since Bionicle was discontinued, I've been focusing on other lines of Lego. I just recently found this MOC, having put it together over 2 years ago. Some of the body designs are not mine but instead taken from a few sets. However, the majority of the set was designed by me over the course of a year. The heels were originally from the Roodaka set, but I modified it to support pistons. The figure's chest holds energy balls from the Piraka sets. And of course, no Rahkshi would be complete without the back spine. Let me know what you guys think.
  5. It took me a really long time to figure what was going on. It doesn't help that Vader and Sidious are wearing black in a dark grey background. I would suggest making the background blue as in the movie. I thought Luke was getting eaten by the barrel, lmao.
  6. I just ordered 4 of the new Clone battle pack. I'm really low on money, but I plan on getting the X-Wing in the near future.
  7. same here, I didn't see Vader and Sidious on the left.
  8. Nice review! I don't really understand why Lego made the inside of the fighter a rainbow of pieces.
  9. Thanks for the review! I'll probably just get one or two of these for the speeder. I really don't like how TLG is changing them every set.
  10. Wow this is arguably the best battle pack yet. My only buff with this set is that it includes droids and clones. I can see where TLG is getting at to give kids all you need to play in one box, but I'm not a fan of it. Still, I will definitely be emptying my Lego store once these roll around. Thanks for the review.
  11. wow thanks for the review! I checked my lego store, and there were no new sets.
  12. Haha, I had some great chuckles reading this. I really suggest you make a small series on this. I love the SW jokes how they fit the timeline of Pirates.
  13. Ok the wording you replied with threw me off. I thought you partially sarcastic. The only buff I have with Star Wars movies and TCW is that there is not much of the "war" shown. If you look back, the battles would only be a minority of the movie/season. For a name like Star Wars, you'd expect a great deal of battles and conflicts. I found only the Dark Horse comics would actually show a good portion of the war in their issues. In that case, I agree with you, fallenangel. So far, I have only felt that the Umbara series from Season 4 really shows the darker sides of war for the common soldier. You would think for a series like The Clone Wars, you'll see more of the "war", but episodes go off topic into irrelevant stories. But you must remember, George Lucas does not want to change his audience too fast. I see gradual changes in content to a more mature audience. I don't want to see clones going into battle and everyone makes it because thats not how battles play out. That's what I've seen for the good half of Season 1. War is not supposed to be glorified, its a horrible consequence of mankind.
  14. Does Lego still do the toy fair for spring/summer sets? I remember TLG did it back in 2008 for the new TCW sets. But I haven't seen much news about that recently.
  15. Thanks for the pictures. That astromech is different, but I like it.
  16. can't tell if you're serious or joking. remember its to a certain extent, its a kid's cartoon after all.
  17. Anyone know what happened to the episode guides? The episode guide used to have a synopsis, episode commentary and trivia. Now with the start of season 4, it looks like they stopped doing it?
  18. Yeah sorry about that, that's what I calculated on 22 episodes not 21. I don't know how TCW is doing with rating wise. If you take a look at the episodes, they are slowly maturing in a way. I think TCW is trying to mature with the kids that watched it since Season 1. TCW from what I have seen, has more deaths, talks about slavery/other sensitive issues, and is more intense compared to an episode in season 1.
  19. I am no ship expert, but I don't think the Imperial Flagship is built for speed. The Flagship is my only "Pirate" line ship, and its a massive ship. SUre its got three masts for sails, but it dwarfs any previous Lego ship. Drawing from an older ship, I think the Viking longboat with its fireball turret and excellent speed is a good matchup. If you were to match prices to make the battle more even, you could afford 3 Viking Longboats at $50 each compared to just the $180 Imperial Flagship.
  20. With that new Lego commercial, I hope Lego stores will get an early shipment of January sets before the New Year. I have seen it happen before with Bionicle and Star Wars sets several years ago.
  21. That's the great thing about Lego, nothing is ever wrong. This Black Pearl is a really faithful representation to the movie one. I am always amazed with people who can incorporate non Lego parts like lights into their set.
  22. Lego hasn't been particularly successful if they have tried to make an unlicensed set with their own story. The only successful one I can think of off the top of my head is Bionicle. I don't know what Lego was thinking replacing it with Hero Factory. Lego has also had success with Kingdom, Pirates sets but they lacked their storyline like the licensed sets did.
  23. Hello and welcome to the forums. There's a train tech subforum with an indexed thread for MOC and events there.
  24. Haha, you got me. That's what I get for doing Lego math next to my Calculus HW.
  25. The lifespan of a set is based on the profits and the cost of maintaining their license. Usually, I see Lego's own Kingdoms or Hero Factory sets stay on longer because they're cheaper to produce as they do not have the license included in the cost. With the Emerald Night on the shelves for already more than 3 years, I see why no existing fan shouldn't have gotten it by now. The market for a set after a set has been discontinued is probably new fans who missed their opportunity to buy it while Lego had them on the shelves.
