I'm curious if Lego should make a Clone battlepack like a random booster pack. A lot of people want Wolfpack troopers, 501st Legion, 212th Battalion, or just plain white clone troopers. One way to solve this problem is to make a booster pack similar to how Lego does its minifigure collection. Each battlepack will have lets say 4 random clone troopers in addition to the set itself whether it be a speeder bike or something. It could be an interesting thing to do as it will keep the customer excited as they won't know what they might pull. If Lego does this, I'd put a lot of money into the battlepack. Let me know what you guys think.

Have you ever bought LEGO in "secret"?

No I didn't, I still have all of the sets that I snuck with me. I did have a Dark Ages type period in 2011 as I quit my job, but I never dreamed of selling my Legos. To be honest, I never regretted buying that much Lego as I had a pretty decent paying job for 3 years. I used to hide lego sets in my jacket during the Winter time before I walked to the Lego store, but that could only be done with small sets. I have been caught a few times doing that as my parents hate me buying Legos. I made a detailed manifesto of what I bought and when to keep track of my growing collection. Looking back on it this is my compiled list: 15x 8014 Clone Walker BP 3x 7655 Clone Trooper BP 3x 7654 Droids BP 3x 8084 Snowtrooper BP 6x 7913 Clone Trooper BP 1x 7675 AT-TE 1x 7679 Republic Fighter Tank 1x 10195 AT-OT with Dropship 1x 10210 Imperial Flagship 1x 4193 London Escape 1x 4181 Isla de Muerta 1x 7259 ARC-170 Starfighter 1x 8088 ARC-170 Starfighter 1x 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder 1x 8093 Plo Koon's Starfighter 1x 8098 Clone Turbo Tank 1x 6208 B-Wing Starfighter 1x 6209 Slave I 1x 7258 Wookiee Attack 1x 10194 Emerald Night 1x 10219 Maersk Train And a ton of undocumented Bionicle sets from 2005-2007. -

Haha all the time. Back in middle school - high school when I didn't have a car, I used to pack a backpack and ask my parents to drop me off at the library. The Lego store in the mall was only 15 minutes walking distance away from the library. I buy the sets I wanted and go to the bathroom at the nearby Macy's. If the boxes were too big for my backpack, I would open the sets and dump out the bags into my backpack. The whole process takes only 1-2 hours to do. Usually I only go when I have saved at least $100 to be spent as I had to make the journey worth the time and effort. Since 2007-2011, I must have done it at least 20 times but I have never been caught. That's how I amassed my Lego collection in a few years. My parents have only bought me a few sets and they have never once questioned the tons of Lego I have displayed around my room. Now since I'm in college with my own car and money, I can purchase Lego sets at my own will. -
No they do look almost identical but both the helmet and torso have changed. The newer one has more detail on the torso. Here's the pictures I pulled from the respective reviews. Either way hopefully Lego changes the ugly clone head. I'd much rather have this as the head rather than the ugly clone head. Maybe Lego will change it the new stormtrooper heads?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
382nd Legionnaire replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I think the more the CW series progresses, the more the series shifts away from the actual Clone Wars. I remember when the CW movie was to be released, the developers said they wanted to focus more on the battles between the 2nd and 3rd movie. They wanted to showcase the large clone and droid armies on the battlefield. It was alright at first and we did get some decent battles for the CW series but I feel its on a decline with the introduction of Darth Maul. That's always been a problem for George Lucas. Battle scenes with large forces fighting one another have always been short clips. I feel like Star Wars is more about the rise and fall of Anakin Skywalker more than Star Wars as a universe. For goodness sake, war is half the name. George Lucas should take a series with battles done right: Lord of the Rings. Sorry for the rant. -
Lego is pretty slow on making sets to coincide with the series. I mean we got the ARC troopers that appeared in the episode back in fall 2010. Even Lego is now making the Malevolence. The first hint at the new Phase 2 clones was in the swamp speeder set a year or two ago. That clone looked pretty cool, but I think Lego was just teasing us.

No I'm saying that the entire Delta Squad may be included in a $50+ priced set so you really only want one of them. I would say the latest Clone battlepack pushes it a little bit with the ARC trooper. I mean a commando army just doesn't look right. Thats my 2 cents anyway.
-
I don't think a Delta Squad battlepack is the best choice for Lego as they are basically buy one and done battlepacks. Since they include specific characters, an army of them is just overkill. They would probably be released in a more pricey set though. I would like to see Phase 2 clones as the TV show has already moved onto the new armor.

Yes Death Watch is not the TRUE Mandalorians. But I don't want to argue, I'm not a Mandalorian fan either ways.
-
I easily forget these because I do not consider them as Clone Wars. I mean the Clone Wars should be Clones vs. Droids and the sets are being pushed away from that. Mandalorians? WHo here wants to build a Mandalorian army? Not me and they are not true Mandalorians. I'll save my SW lore rant.

Is Lego slowly shifting away from the Clone Wars line? Its still one of my favorite lines of the SW theme, despite the high price. For the summer 2012 line, there is only the Malevolence which I don't plan to get. I really hope Lego does a lot of AOTC sets in 2013 though. -
17 Combat Engineering Squad: Mission to Geonosis: Part 3
382nd Legionnaire replied to LEGOman273's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I love the flak cannon. Its just great looking, something Lego should take note of. There are 2 problems for accuracy though. First is the different colored clone troopers. I'm not sure if you're on a budget and I apologize if you are, but it looks better to have the same kind of clone troopers as a unit. Maybe to distinguish between them, you can have them carry different armor and gear. The second point is the command module. A command module next to a flak cannon is very dangerous to the officers as seen in RotS. Otherwise I love the small battle scene. -
I'm kind of iffy about this set. I just got the Geonosian cannon, which would go great for with this set. Yet 155 pieces for $30? I still have better sets in mind that I still need to buy such as the Battle of Naboo, Battle of Geonosis, and Droid Escape. Maybe when I build enough VIP points to discount this set to $20, I can feel better about getting it. Nice review by the way.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?
382nd Legionnaire replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Not really pocket money. I only wanted 3-4 of them anyways, anymore more would be overkill. A commando army looks silly especially since I already have 100 Phase I clones. -

I went to my local Wal-Mart and found they finally have the new sets. First I was disappointed they didn't have the new 9488 Elite Clone battlepacks, but I saw that someone had mischievously hid them behind the Endor battlepack. I picked up the remaining 4 9488 Elite Clone battlepacks and a 9491 Geonosian cannon. I'm building them now. -
Thanks, I live quite close to there, maybe I'll go.

My favorite of all time is the 7679 Republic Fighter Tank back in 2008. I really wish I got more of these, I only ended up getting one before it was pulled. This is one of the few if not only Clone Wars sets that have the 10 cents per piece ratio. Not to mention the absolute gorgeous design all for $50.
-
Its always been a dream of mine. Based on Wookieepedia, it has room for close to 10,000 crew and troops. Imagine all the cabins and hallways needed to accommodate that number. I picture the Lego V-19, Republic Gunship or AT-TE sets can fit in the docking bay. From there I wonder how massive the engines will be. Not to mention having all the inner workings to support the ship.
-
I would like to see a minifig scale Venator star destroyer to be made. The main fighter bay would be enormous.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
382nd Legionnaire replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That would be the economic thing for Lego to do yes. If you think about it, Lego has pretty much covered every scene in the 6 movies with Lego sets. With the addition of the Clone Wars TV show, it gave Lego some more time to do sets but I think that tank is running dry. With the release of the new TOR video game, I think Lego is releasing a few TOR sets with their usual OT and Clone Wars line. Its risky for Lego to do as many fans stick to the original 6 movies. Lego is probably testing the waters with a few of TOR sets. -
LDD MOC: Z-95 Headhunter (Clone Wars)

Looks like a good representation but the wings need to be slightly longer. Its basically a one seater ARC-170 without the S foils. I actually was confused when I first saw them. -

That is just gorgeous. Very realistic, and to the point I almost though they were non-Lego model trains. -

When does the license between Lucasfilms and TLG end? With the release of the 6 Star Wars movie in 3D for the next 6 years, I hope Lego will renew the license.
