It's not a chaingun, it's a QUADRUPLE BINOCULAR!!!!!!!!!!!! (It's a Rotary Gun, actually. Chainguns are single-barreled guns whose action is driven by a chain, like the 25mm Bushmaster on the M2 Bradley.)

Ah, this brings back the memories... I was one of those blessed by having this set while I was still a boy. Good times...

Got myself to the El Corte Inglés in Lisbon this morning and I'm pleased to report that all of the SW and Technic 2010 line up are there (got myslef a nice big 8048), aswell as the big fire truck + boat, fire station, smart car, seaplane and lighting repair. BTW, the wind generator transporter is also there! (Not new 2010, but unseen here in Portugal so far.)

This is not necessarilly a good thing. Hear me out. First, my LEGO credentials: I was born in 1986, smack-dab in the middle of LEGO's Golden Age. 4-wide ruled. There were city sets by the dozens. Cars, jeeps, tv trucks, jetskis, airplanes, helicopters, tractors, you name it! Then came '97 and World City *shudders*. My Dark Age had begun. Nowadays, the spirit of the golden age is alive again, but not half as prolific. Why? I believe I may know atleast one reason. In 1987, Snorkel Squad had 145 pieces. The 2005 Fire Truck has 208. The 1990 Trans Air Carrier had 200 pieces. The 2008 Cargo Plane had 451! More detail means more pieces per set. More pieces per set means more spending per set. More spending per set is a good reason not to risk on those wacky civvy sets... Brick on... Scorpion

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?

This! A million times this! -
Strange, 'cause here in Lisbon they've arrived on time... Thanks, man! To you too!
-
Gotta check out my local TRU and El Corte Ingles to see if they have any on store! It's hard to live on the outskirts of Europe. :( (I'm from Portugal, BTW.)

Thankfully, I saved it before it went down. How do you want to trade it?

What LEGO do you expect under the tree this year?
Scorpion replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Nothing under the tree, but January's gonna leave me bankrupt! 2 Raid VPRs, 2 Freecos, 1 Fire Helicopter and 1 Fire Truck and Boat! -

Yeah, I heard of Exo-Force before, but I honestly thought it was a licensed anime of some sort. Too weeabo for my taste. The LEGO Mech scene only really caught my eye with the Mech in the Agents line. Maybe a direction to follow? -
Remember when we did the moonshot and Pony Trekker led the way Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the freaks said, "Man those bricks can really sway..." :p Brick away! Scorpion

After seeing the "Build-a-Buzz" review, a thought popped into my mind. I don't know how the AFOL and Tabletop Gamer demographic intersect, but here it goes: LEGO BATTLETECH Allright, I've said it. I may be biased, but I think it would sell. After all, what kid doesn't love giant battling war robots? -
Why doesn't LEGO make more ships like this? Look at it's construction! No fancy parts to speak of, simple, easy, old-school. More Futuron than Space Police III (in-name-only). Give back the 80's space, LEGO! /rant

Thanks to this set and the new Fire Helicopter, next year will be the first time I own a Fire set since my parents got me this one, almost 20 years ago... Good job, Lego!
-
Man, I sure as hell am gonna get me one of these. Then I'm gonna cannibalise the SW engines from the Freeco Speeder to MOD the shit out of those engines! I allways wanted to hae my own LEGO Puma! :P
-
Of those that I had, I'd have to say the Space Police II Rebel Hunter. A damn swooshy spacecraft, had that "starfighter" vibe about it. Special mention to Blacktron II Allied Avenger, it had a snazzy cockpit. Shame they don't make the parts I need to replicate it no more... Of those I wanted, too many to mention, but perhaps the awesomest of those is probably M:Tron's MOTHERF***ING GIANT SPACE JEEP!!!!!!!!! Brick on... Scorpion EDIT: Missed a link...
-
HEMMT, F*CK YEAH!!! Upon further observation, is it me or do the new fire vehicles look an awfull lot like military vehicles? I mean, the truck+boat looks like an HEMMT, and doesn't the new fire helicopter look like a Puma?

Smilling stamp print inside 8258 box

The smiley man is stalking you... Beware... -
Strangely, the selection of orderable parts is the same, but the library of unorderable parts was actually increased... (namely technic pieces)
-
THIS. A MILLION TIMES THIS.
-
Although the program updated, did the part selection actually change? It seems like the same to me. If not, does anyone know when it will change/update? Props to Skipper24!

"Classic" space ended in 1990, when we had "Themed" space: M-Tron, Space Police, Blacktron, Ice Planet 2002... Then came "Sh****" space! :s Is it just me or the current SPIII is still missing something? They're too curvy... Too much open spaces... (Starting with the helmets! Good luck breathing, SP!) Brick on! Scorpion

Oh god... If that's not the VERY FIRST Lego set I had, it's pretty darn close! (That and the small two-engined plane...) I ripped the instruction sheet, it's gone, forever!
