Certainly. I am sorry. On topic; I went to BigW today and they had at least twenty Venators and other big sets such as the large 'pizza store' set, PM Command Rig... But also heaps of the Basic Brick boxes and cartons and an overflow of City and Pirate impulses. But no reduced prices! Don't they worry about not selling everything? Is there some sort of 'extreme' clearance coming up? -
Exactly my point. Although I sometimes use terms such as 'cheese slope' or simply 'plupp'.

Is this the right place to post this kind of question? I just wen to Toyworld, and I saw Ahsoka's SF w/ Vulture Droid. At $ 79.99! That's just sick! Is this the correct price? I know, it's exclusive, but I can the the superpack 3 in 1 for that price! Help. -
Why can't we just use the 'official' (maybe not official, but...) BrickLink Catalouge names? I usually do that... I rarely build amongst other people, so I just imagine the brick in my head when I need it.

Confirmed. I just bought 2 Sports car and one Tow Truck. I wouldn't buy them unless they were this cheap. :p Thanks for the info. -
Ha! Here the battlepacks are $18-20! I'm sick of it, I say. Oh well, sorry about price ranting. I will still get one, hopefully two of these. Now on topic: Funny review! Good set! Thanks! Can;t wait until they come out there! Ithinkhe hinkswethinktheythink that the Snowtroopers are Snow Clone Troopers, or whatever they are called. They are similiar. But of course they are; Snowtroopers are 'evolved' versions of the Cones. My point: Clone Wars TV series are corrupting the minds of young Star Wars fans! Maybe.

It looks like LEGO trades have also snuck into this topic, so I will share my story... I traded my friend a PSP memory card for Naboo N-1 Starfighter With Vulture Droid. It was almost complete, the only piece missing was one of the long yellow antennae for the N-1 and the 'pre flick-fire' missiles for the Vulture. Also, he said he would give me me a small/medium sized box of bricks if I helped him with a woodwork thing! Or maybe sell it to me. He doesn't know the market prices.

Well, I saw this table at Kmart once, which was LEGO branded and called 'LEGO Building Table. It cost $150 something. You could always buy an old table, install a drawer or two for the pieces and superglue some 48x48 baseplates on it. Your idea was good too, good luck with this and I look forward to seeing some pictures of what you make in the end!

Special Minifigures- What Do You Want Next?
Torax replied to Tom Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Someone mentioned monks, and that would be awesome. Not only Christian monks though; a Buddhist Monk minifig would also be cool. And also Holy women/men from other religions. Sorry, this isn't the place to discuss religion, but I think it would be an awesome possibility. Anyway, I would also like a kid - just a regular kid. Short legs, and the accessory would be some sort of toy. (Minifig scaled) I'll come back if come up with more! -

Question, everybody: So I was looking over at the Star Wars 2010 Picture and Rumor thread, and it seems like some people (probably in the US) who have already gotten their hands on some 2010 SW sets (the TIE Defender, to be correct). I have neither lived in Australia very long nor stayed up to date with release dates, so I ask; has anyone got a clue of when we get the sets, and at what prices? Also, why do we pay such an overprice? GST? -
Merry Christmas to one and all, I hope you vote for me in the contest. I am very glad many [all] of you liked this. I had really fun building it, but I agree that it could use some 'Christmas lights'. Keep MOCing!

You all have obviously never danced små Taun Tauns Små Grodorna. KimT or Philip Skywalker, help me out? Scandinavian traditions are crazier than the Tusken Raider test of manhood... The poses Han and the Snowtrooper are doing isn't anything fishy, it's only the way you do the dance. Hehe, anyway, prateek, what do you mean? The whole idea with this MOC is to show that the Snowtroopers and Rebels are getting along, if that doesn't show clearly, I have failed.

This is my entry for the Xmas Contest, Vignette Category. It is a vignette based on Hoth. Two battling factions cease fire and celebrate a common tradition- Christmas. Just like the soldiers at Gallipoli during the First World War here on Earth ceased fire during Christmas, so did these Rebels and Snowtroopers on this Christmas a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. It's a new MOC. It is Star Wars themed. It is in the holiday spirit. It uses no clone parts. It has no overhang- as you can see in the 'bird's view' picture below. The two factions decided to break up the fighting over Christmas. They decorated the turret, chucked their weapons away, rose the Snowtroopers' turret and decorated it, and started dancing around it! They took the famous Scandinavian "Små grodorna" (Little frogs), and made it into a more Star Wars friendly version. The outcome: They are now dancing "Little Taun-Tauns". As mentioned, the Snowtroopers' turret became a Christmas tree, in lack of real evergreens. Colourful banners were hung in the Rebel turret, and it became really Christmas-y in the blink of an eye! Pictures: Corner View Birds View, where you can see that there is NO overhang. The "christmas tree" Han is obviously enjoying himself. The turret is very prettifully decorated. Link to BS gallery: CLICK Comments? Questions? Criticism? Vote for me in the contest? All of the above are greatly appreciated! Thank you. Keep MOCing!

Thank you everyone, I am now demolishing the Hyena. I might take apart the Pirate Tank later.

Hi everyone, I need some professional opinions. I collect mainly Star Wars, but display space is becoming an issue. So I decided to disassemble some sets to get some space for other sets. The thing is; some of my sets are, in my opinion, outright ugly. Some 'ugly' sets include the Hyena Droid Bomber and the Pirate Tank. What's your opinion? Please fill in the poll above and let me know, so I can decide which sets to take apart. Here are the pros of taking some sets apart: More display space More parts I don't have to see the ugliness of some sets. (I hate to say they're ugly, but I can;t find a better word) Cons: I don't have the set at hand in case I need to check something. (As in; "Does the Hyena Droid Bomber include a 2x2 slope, inverted, or is it a 2x3 slope inverted?") The pros outweigh the cons, but which ones should I take apart? Please also share your own experiences or dilemmas.

My thought as well. It is a very important scene for Christians, right? Some nativity scenes were entered in that Christmas raffle Ras organised. You could get some ideas from that! Good luck and I hope you post the result here! Keep MOCing!

New Japanese LEGO Bricks x Paper Products!
Torax replied to Alywin's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, reminds me of Clikits. I'm not really that impressed, though, as it looks like you only make a hole in a paper and put a plate through it... -
[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests
Torax replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Good idea of a topic, I hope the developers of LDD listen to this. I also want more bricks- this selection is almost silly. A complete inventory would be awesome. Other than that i really like LDD- it's so easy to use. -
Why don't European boxes have the piece count?
Torax replied to The Green Brick Giant's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was actually thinking about this the other day; we don't have any piece count here in Aus either. It would be very helpful, and I wonder why there is only piece counts in North America. But as someone said, it might be something legal, and if it's not necessary here, why waste ink on it? -

I never really separate the assembly, but I can see your question has been answered anyway. :) Good luck with your building!

This has never happened to me, and I frequently buy sets. On the other side, I have never found a mangled instruction booklet or folded/destroyed sticker sheet. I don't know what to think, maybe you were just lucky?

First post is updated now. Help me finish my collection!

Unfortunately, sometimes. I look at a piece, and think; 'Wow, what an awesome piece! How can I incorporate it in a MOC, I've just got to use it!' I don't find it effective, though, as it is better to come up with an idea, and then fin suitable pieces for it.
