  1. I definitely agree. I would have much rather had an all-green flash speeder to show off, I suppose I could try bricklink for the first time. They are only around 5 cents... Until then, I dunno, we could pretend it's a super special mary sue squad or something.
  2. Not that the Flash Speeder is my favorite vehicle or vessel from Star Wars, but the set was definitely one of my favorites when I was younger. So, I have set out to try and bring the speeder to more modern bricking standards. The 1 x 6 slopes are available in green, but in very few numbers in very few sets (and ones I would never have considered buying) and the 2x are not available in green, according to Peeron. So I would need six for this design. You can tell I had three Flash Speeder sets from the three security guards, but I've only been able to find one hat so far. I replaced most of the arms and legs with dark tan, which I think looks pretty snazzy: Not so sure about the belt however. Looks too busy. So far I have to decide on an engine design, and do the controls. The "bottom" engine is nicer to look at, but is really piece intensive. The "top" design, though not assembled here, was relatively simple with a 4x4 plate not quite attached at a slope, which I somehow picked up as the design of the engines, though looking later the engines are rather flat in profile. No clue. Side view, nothing special but the minifigs fit in very well, with their arms going over the side without being raised up by their heads awkwardly. The spoiler/gun mount is two hinge bricks so it doesn't look too chunky from the front. Side panel removed, showing the inside connections. Again, nothing special. The "back seat" is a plate w/handle attached to a clip, which allows the minifig to "sit" up on the edge of the cockpit (like so) And finally, a picture of an alternate spoiler which is less movie accurate but I thought looked pretty cool: Haven't seen many Flash Speeder MOCs, I hope my terrible pictures and cropping didn't turn anybody off
  3. The top part looks really good. The legs however do not. As they are now, they're very square and appear flatfooted, Which to me looks silly. Then again, I'm not the end-all-be-all, maybe you really like that look and that's what you were going for. But what I would suggest, is to go for a dinosaur-like leg. There's a word for it I can't remember for the life of me but here's a link. edit: looking closer it seems you have something like what I described, but the proportions made me overlook it. Overall I'd say make the legs bigger, and keep the feet the same size and shape but add a joint in the middle.
  4. I was just thinking that. Or even just horizontal at the tips, they're begging to move.
  5. I've played the force unleashed briefly on the PC. I can say the controls were horrible, it was generally a very lazy port from the Xbox, the gameplay was kind of fun as well as unlocking things like costumes (I like that kind of stuff, however it makes me look as a gamer :p) I didn't see much of the environments, just saw some general death star locale. But starkiller is a very poor character, the game has a very bald-space-marine-killing-things feel to it, it overshadows better games by being shallow for the masses and the crowning turd in the water pipe is that lucas has declared it canon. I'd much rather see KOTOR or DF sets. When they had original designs they were much more interesting than the meathead looking robot linked above.
  6. Wow, this is beautiful. The sand red works so well with the other colors, and it works great as an environment color in general. Everything about this is just great! And I like the life on mars aliens, I always loved that line whether is deserved it or not :p
  7. Looks really good! I like the little waterfalls... wouldn't the wheel spin the other way?
  8. Really great, the angles of the wings are awesome. The night shots made it seem like it was made of sand-green bricks, it's a pity it wasn't actually
  9. I think a redone gungan sub would be great, if it wasn't mentioned already. Another jar-jar to collect!
  10. I like the sparse tiling over the entire thing, and the deadly sludge water under the platforms is there anything interesting on that platform behind the wall with the sign?
  11. I just realized why the tie sets were all blue. The fighters were all part of the much less famous and much less stylish 182nd squadron.
  12. here's a tie shuttle for those confused.
  13. All in all really slick suit, and I especially like the tap pieces for elbows
  14. I can't remember what the pod looked like, but I remember that part of the game. Have you got any other FO MOCs?
  15. What would you change?
  16. That's a good $7800 worth of minifigs
  17. Well, as others have said, your model looks great and I could definitely see it zooming along in the background of Mos Eisly in the super deluxe 4D remastered edition of A New Hope. The engines look great and the greeblies in the cockpit are fun too. Any plans on making the podracer version?

    Portal!

Well of course credit where credit is due the potato is just a switch base, in case the picture is too blurry to tell.
  19. I'm pretty sure those were TT figs as brickdoctor mentioned Which is also the first thing I thought of to recommend.
  20. I would be very interested in ithorian, gran, or aqualish minifigs.
  21. Saw this on brickshelf before I came here, and I love it. The first thing I did was start thinking about a way to make the knees moveable
  22. In general, the movie models aren't meant to be taken at face value. They could use several models to represent one specific ship, or one model to represent many ships. Or, in the case of the sandcrawler, the one and only model is never presented in such a way in the movie that you can recognize where each scratch and scrape is. And on that note, I'm gonna block you.
  23. The point is, that's one of those niggling little things that don't actually contribute to accuracy in any way. Who said he was making the exact sandcrawler in that picture?
  24. Please, now you're criticizing a patch of stripped paint?
  25. I'm not trying to shoot you down, just letting you know some things you might not have...
