phoinix replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
i think they are fine for this theme.. i mean if you whant more detail you can always get a creator set.. the only thing i dont like its the shark that has those 3 very big top pieces.. -

racers are too small and city trucks are too big! we may not like it but surely lego has its reasons :-/ racers are cheaper and easier for kids to get one a week with 3 euros they also can be compared to other mini-toy-cars like matchbox city is getting bigger cause well..everything in this world is! kids like their toys big and more impressive impressive big boxes-great details on the models and great playability but there is a down-side to this most city sets especially the planes and trucks have little mocing pottential.. and then we have the big ones..the creator sets which i personnaly really like so we have small-big-and bigger!! but nothing normall size (minifig size)!! ;-) and as the trucks and planes of the city are getting bigger the buildings stay the same!! So how are the trucks supposed to get gus from the new gus-station?? *wacko* *wacko* and why is a truck bigger than an airport or a train station? and as the civilian buildings are staying the same the only houses we get are huge! so actually in lego-city your house would be as big as the airport X-D if you have a truck you cant put any gus in it :-D and if you park your truck next to the train-station people wont be able to see the building!!!(and they will miss their train!!) :-P and if you are a straight man you would be very lonely!! ITS A CRAZY WORLD OUT THERE!!! -
thank you so much alex for this great review!! you brought back great lego memories back from when the catapults didnt have to be so complicated they could work even if they were simple! great lego design..clean-simple and leaves so much to the childs imagination! its great that you have these sets in such great condition! (i am missing parts from the castles i had when i was 7-8 and some parts have been played to death!!) thanx again! hope you will do some more classic reviews!

Picts and review(s) of new Firestation set #7945
phoinix replied to Marc Gagnon's topic in LEGO Town
ok guys so thanks on the review and the pictures.. this set dosent look as good as i thought.. sure its better from the last fire department.. but come on whats up with all those stickers? even on the baseplate? BAD!! even on the flag??terrible!! and why are these baseplates..i mean...there are so many of them...and small...and..BAD!! the chiefs car is VERY nice!! the truck is kind of okay although why does it strecth up to there? the only thing in lego-city that is so tall is the building crane...!!! so is it only for that? or if a bird cathces fire? i dont see any other reason for it! the building is really weird. and as some others have already pointed out..how are we supposed to place this in our lay-out? *wacko* its just not right.. the minifigs have nothing new to offer..but 4 of them is ok for this set. i really like the fact that there is a small tree and a couple of flowers.. the whole set has a nice classic look to it.. but its really something between classic and <insert that tiresome argument>.. a step in the right direction non-the-less and a nice use of color.. anyhow..im not in the market for a new fire-station. i already have one that i love and i dont need another one.. maby i will just get the new small car.. overall i would give this set a 6.75 out of 10 (well the last fire station got a 5/10 in my books so thats ok) -
what job do you do if i may ask...? (yes your brickshelf answered the storing question)
-
how do you decide how many sets are you gonna buy if yoy buy multiple sets? why is it 4 and not 5? what do you do with so many of them? where do you store them? (how much money do you have? 8-| ) and why didnt you buy a car instead of all these Lego? ;-) (so many questions!!!)
-
im really not liking this one.. looks too bulky.. and very small... and its basicly one tower... the other hogwarts looked very nice compared to this one.. hope this is a pro-pro-pro-prototype...otherwise *n*
-
Has anyone ever seen this before ???
phoinix replied to Brick Miner's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
the first store-display i can remember is of classic-space back in the 80s!! Its at a toy store in Nicosia-Cyprus where i used to get lego as a kid.. the store no longer has lego but they still have that beayteful display (that they wont sell..I have asked them twice and they said someone offered about 4000 euro but they didnt sell) -
Picts and review(s) of new Firestation set #7945
phoinix replied to Marc Gagnon's topic in LEGO Town
i was so happy when i saw the topic title... only to get in...and get dissapointed!!! no review here... *wacko* at leaste change the topic title!!!! -
i really like that 4-wide classic build blue car! i think you have some nice classic elements that blend well with new stuff its a wonder how your "Ristorante" stickers are in such good condition! Mine are kind of...dead
-
i tottaly agree..but the cheapest female right now is cat-woman ;-) i wonder what other sets have females for this year 8-| deffinetly not the city ones... OH there is a princess in the castle line.. anymore come to mind?
-
i am not really into fast cars but 4896 would be the one i would get.. just looks more...lego or more classic to me... why dont you make a poll? lets vote on it! ;-)
-
i would recommend all these three http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...wtopic=7611&hl= the new buckets... i bought a few buckets myself when i came out of my dark-age! it helped me get new usefull pieces that i had never even seen before! i would recommend any creator set actually as many fellow-eurobrickers already did! ;-)
-
so the new creator buckets have a new design and are now availiable at S@H 221 pieces for 15 euro 405 pieces for 25 euro and my favorite: the lego deluxe brick box (it even has a female) 701 pieces for 45 euro see them all here: http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=348&d=70

Emmm...im sorry to be the one that tells you but the picture from the catalogue...IS the final product ;-)

i wonder why lego dosent follow the playmobil market for city sets. its appealing to both girls and boys sure they have police and fire sets..but there are women police officers! and ofcourse there are many city-life sets playmobil also has children and babies in their city... i dont see why lego dosent make a hospital set (for ecxample) with less vehicles to go ZZvoomm with and more nurces and patients... lego marketers beilive that girls only like pink houses and fairy-tales!..that is so..1950s of them!! dont they see that playmo does well with less violent sets? (although i wonder if playmo does well in the US where they tend to have more violent toys..) are LEGO marketers listening more to the US than Europe? |-/
-
i understand and respect your humorous aproach on the subject.. but queer is not a very respectable and polliticly correct word... and i dont think its very much apritiated... your word in brackets works better ;-)

Is Arkham Asylum no longer available?
phoinix replied to captaintau's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
well it seems that its NOT availiable in the uk and its not in the new european catalogue.. whats up with this set? is it US only?
