so i worked in your suggestions, thanks a lot. problem this time was the light tough, as it was raining today. so the colors appear somewhat faded, well i'm still too much of an analogous photographer ... PS: more pics on brickshelf

what do you mean? not enough action? well, i tought the crossing and the hessians being drunk (although i know that this is more of a legend) was the most interesting fact about this battle, that's why i choose to do it like this, if it's not enough, oh well, just consider it to be another moc, i don't really care as for the background, i totally realized that myself when i loaded the pictures up, that's why i'm going to work on them, once i find the time, and thanx for the info about the flag, i'm quite suprised they actually had one at this point of the war

the green coats are actually just the uniforms of the rangers(?) normal hessians wore blue coats with red applications as can be seen in this picture: they also had some very bizarre hats wich i'm not able to make. as for the flag, which one did they have in 76? i wasn't sure about it, thats why i choose the red one

description of the battle: wikipedia washington and his man crossing the half-frozen deleware river: on the other side, everything seems to be absolutely peacefull, no hessians in sight: colonel johann rall and a few british officers are getting plastered in a nearby pub: hessian privates on the watchout don't seem to take their duty too serious either: "let 'em come, aint notin' gonna happen anyway": yet the americans are absolutely determined to turn things around: so let the fighting begin: hope you like it, i think it's my best moc so far, it's in thus far still a wip as i might redo the images, cronstructive criticism of course always welcome

apparently, you have never been to any medieval kind of town 'cause in the town where i'm from a lot of half timbered houses use orange, green or whatsoever type of color, and people have been doing so for quite a while this, for instance, is our city hall:

holy shit, this is amazing!

well, my wallet's gotta be thanful for this, as for myself, damn, first fleshy theme i really like!

with all those lads from hessia-kassel dying in the war of independence i guess that i'm obliged to do the battle of trenton - jsut one question though, in how far do want us to stick to actual paintings of a certain battel from that time?

small hull ship contest, totally!!

@joey: the idea is quite cool and i totally dig these old kind of cars in lego (no matter which kind), but what is it with you brits beeing so fascinated with all this nazi stuff? if us krauts made these kinda mocs people here would beat the shit out of us ...

#39 Mason/Sculptor Like it's so often the case, the shoemaker has the worst shoes, the teacher's children are behaving the worst and the mason has the crappiest home. Just like in this case, where the village's French mason/sculptor Jaques Calcul creates the most beautiful sculptures, but really doesn't know how to take care of himself and his home, which hasn't seen any new paint in a few years. Luckily his daughter Denise comes by each noon to supply him with some food and a good glass of wine. The poor man would truely starve to death otherwise ...

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
kabel replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
what's the packaging gonna look like? paper or cardboard? if it was paper, wouldn't you be able to feel what you're buying? At least some parts should be recongnizeable without lokking at them, schuoldn't they? -
the new city era motorcycles as well as the "small" 4-wide cars really annoy me, who really needs all those suvs and honda goldwings? i still like the classic motorcycles a lot more nice review by the way, it made me feel very sentimental, this being one of my first sets

damn. i just love the insane movie, so i gotta love this moc, just great!!

a sloop, and a sloop of war are just two completely different things, whereas the former is indeed just a one masted ship (most of today's sailing yachts are technically still considered sloops) the latter is the term for any kinda small millitary ship, and the us navy used it well into the 20th century regardless of whether, one, two or three or no masts at all
-
the funny thing about the coulour scheme is, that it's actually more of an accident, since these were the last bricks i had left over, now i'm very pleased with it too brigs are actually my favourite type of ship, and i've tried building ship models since i was ten, however, i never thought of using lego before i came out of my dark age the next ship i'll try make is the "hawaian chieftan", a ship that's often sailing together with the "lady washington" and both are very nice but very plain ships and that's what i really like about them
-
wow, really cool ship, i more and more start to like the small hulls, at first they were a sort of an emergency option for me, now i think they are really cool for making smaller ships, maybe you should try to curve it a little more though, at certain areas it's looking a little bulky, other than that i think it's perfect,
-
no, it's actually a matter of availability, only had one red and three yellow one the rebel blue coat forces just took this ship from the reds, they didn't have time to change it yet, it will happen pretty soon (just forgot it when i finally decided to go for blue) and yes, i'm planning on making sails, i'm not so sure about the roping, that's why they're not on yet
-
well, i consider it to be a wip because it hasn't got much of an interior yet, the chimney is'nt finished and i have a hard time to decide on whether i should to the window fencing in black or in yellow, i'd also like to place on or more minifigs, just havn't figured out whom
-
as said before, it's still in the wip stage, so feel free to criticize edit: i managed to get some better pictures
-
i was wandering in how far this building scheme could be applied to the small hulls, has anybody attemted this yet?
