  1. Just picked up all three sets and I'm very excited to get building! Just a heads up for fellow Canadians, Toys R Us is selling the Temple for $169.94 and the Fighter Plane for $39.94 which is below MSRP and a decent savings. Everything is selling out fast online, which I guess is a good sign that there is demand! Seems LEGO may have underestimated how big this launch would be.
  2. Exactly, I find it very hard to believe that they would bring back this theme without the intention of promoting the new film. Not having any DoD sets would just be ridiculous with all the hype of it being the last Indiana Jones film ever. Avatar 2 sets came out after the film's premiere, so I guess it's possible we might see DoD sets come out later in the year after the film is out if it follows the same pattern (first wave of sets based on the first film, then a second wave based on the new film).
  3. Only time will tell I guess if the Temple of Doom gets released or not. I just hope at the very least this isn't it for the theme, would be a shame for it not to get at least a couple waves. Seeing Jurassic Park get a full wave this year with no new movie gives me hope that if these sell well, we'll get more. There's so much potential here.
  4. Considering that The Little Mermaid remake comes out in May as well, part of me hopes that this new set is based on the remake so we can get a minifigure for Halle's Ariel. We already have animated Ariel from the first Disney CMF series so it would be really cool to have both!
  5. These sets are honestly underwhelming...really wanted to love these but I don't really. I'll still be picking them up since I've been waiting since my childhood for Indiana Jones to return to LEGO so I'll take what I can get, but I wish it was a stronger lineup. Minifigures look great though! Just hoping the Temple Escape set that we haven't seen yet is really good.
  6. I just built the set and I have to say I like it a lot more than I thought I would. Takua especially is very charming and I would love a whole army of brick-built matoran. I think a whole new Bionicle line in this style would do fairly well, and probably be much more sustainable for LEGO to produce as I understand CCBS became too expensive to justify making those sets. This style is also a lot simpler which I love since I think the 2015 line became too overly complex which only made the sets much more expensive than they should've been. With some new molded masks and weapons I would love for LEGO to try again with Bionicle in this form.
  7. That Takanuva concept looks amazing! If the theme ever does come back (which I think is inevitable at this point) I would be very happy if it is in that style using system pieces.
  8. I'm thinking it could be the Sleeping Beauty castle from Disneyland. It's a lot smaller than the Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom and they can definitely pull it off at that scale. It would make sense for a 100 year anniversary set since it is from the original Disney park.
  9. Very excited that Sonic is getting a full theme, it's something I've been wanting since I was a kid! I'm curious if we'll get a mix of modern and classic Sonic or if it's just going to focus on classic Sonic like the Ideas set. Hopefully it's the former so that we have the opportunity to get a greater variety of characters, but I would be happy if we at least get Tails, Knuckles, and Amy in this first wave.
  10. Classic Disney sets are definitely long overdue and would be such a huge seller. I always imagined a line of minifigure-based sets geared towards older collectors would be a huge hit, maybe with movie moments in diorama style like the Star Wars or Jurassic Park sets released this year. Not going to get my hopes up yet until we get some more definitive news, but the potential is exciting.
  11. The Hogwarts Express looks fantastic! The minifigure selection is a bit lacking, though. Older Hermione and Ron not being included to recreate the epilogue scene is disappointing.
  12. This is so exciting!!! The Indiana Jones theme is what got me into LEGO when I was a kid so this is just giving me a rush of nostalgia, like my childhood is coming back. I'll be buying every single set day one!
  13. So thrilled to hear about the possibility of new Indy sets! I had all the sets when I was younger and I would love to see a modern take on some of the original sets. The details should be great!
  14. Great trailer! Now can't wait for new minifigures with reused heads, inaccurate torsos, no new molds, and no leg printing!
  15. This is great! The first movie was really good. I think a sequel should play with the Batman's history a bit more. They hinted to his past in the first one, but I think it would be a lot of fun if he met different versions of himself (60's Bat, Keaton Bat, Dark Knight, etc.) and do some crazy adventure with them. It looks like we're already seeing different versions of characters in TLM 2 (Suicide Squad Harley, etc.) so it wouldn't be much of a stretch. Can't wait to see what they come up with!
  16. Yeah, this set doesn't have much going for it. It's an easy pass, especially since Carol will most definitely be in the A4 sets.
  17. New trailer tomorrow.
  18. I don't think it's gonna be a hard reboot like everyone is thinking. Most likely a soft reboot, meaning same continuity and cast, but a fresh start for the new generation since it's been a while since the last film.
  19. Sorcerer Mickey Minnie (Blue Dress) Goofy Mary Poppins Snow White Dopey Pinocchio Jiminy Cricket Pooh Tigger Mulan Belle Beast Mike Wazowski Sully Merida Anna Elsa
  20. This is very exciting! I've been waiting for this for a long time. If we do get a D2C to go with this, my guess would be Main Street or the Disney Railroad, if they want to keep going with the Disney World theme. Either would go well with the castle. Can't wait to see what we get!
  21. Just some thoughts on the movie.
  22. I don't understand all the hate for this movie. Yes, it's different, but what were they expecting? If they were going to stick to the exact same character designs, voice actors, art style, etc. then there would be no point in making the movie. The TV series is not going anywhere and will keep going strong, even after the movie is released. Just like how Batman has had various iterations throughout history, Ninjago is getting a new iteration. It's part of the evolution of the property. Personally, I'm very excited for this. It's great to see a brand new take on the characters but in the LEGO Movie Universe, a nice change from what we have come to know in the series. I don't really have anything to say for the designs as I have yet to see them in action to get a feel for their new look, but I appreciate the variety of new hair pieces! Very excited for the full trailer and definitely will be seeing it as soon it comes out!
  23. That's true, but it's still lacking in the films. It's interesting to me how they've made the effort on television to make it ethnically diverse, while the movies still have quite a ways to go.
  24. I'm actually very happy with the casting. We've seen MJ on-screen before, so I don't mind them shaking it up (no pun intended). I don't think MJ's race is entirely important to the character, as long as she plays the character well. If she's MJ, I'm sure the red hair will come in time (hair dye exists!) as it looks like they're going the "ugly duckling" route with the character if set photos and descriptions are to be believed. She definitely would not be a good choice for White Tiger, as WT is a one of the few Latina heroes in the Marvel universe. In that case, her race is important to the character as she represents a minority that gets very little representation (we still don't have a Latino/Latina superhero on-screen yet). Besides, Marvel hasn't screwed up with casting in the MCU. I've lost count of how many times there has been an uproar of an actor cast in a role only to be beloved by fans once they actually see them in the film.
  25. There are plenty of properties in Dimensions that otherwise would never get Toys To Life games (Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, ET, etc.). I personally would love Star Wars and Marvel to cross over with all of the other brands, especially Marvel and DC together. If you don't want them, it's fine, nobody is forcing you to buy packs you don't like. Just because you don't want to see them in the game doesn't mean other people share the same opinion. The beauty of Dimensions is that it combines so many IPs in a single game that otherwise would never interact, therefore you have many different fanbases colliding as they all share a unique experience. Adding Marvel and Star Wars to the game would only enhance the experience, especially die-hard fans like me. Whether or not that will happen remains to be seen.
