    Throlar arrives in the marketplace with 460 gold, he then sells his Henry Award for 200 gold and his Crystal Chalice for 70 gold, leaving him with 730 gold.

    "Vindsval, Sorrow, may I have a word with you quickly?"

    "Like I said, I don't have any clue what to do, so I'm just going to do whatever you lot agree on. By the way Sorrow, are you going to keep all that money for yourself?"

    "Yes, shove her in the basement by all means, and just to be clear, that remark about the paladin order was meant to infer that we would hand her over to them if she gaveus any trouble here, I see that my threat was not as implicit as I believed." "As far as I can tell the Syndicate are a bunch of nutters who run around in robes and masks for no apparent reason and generally make nuisances of themselves. I fail to see why we'd need their help."

    "No, but I honestly can't think of anything to do with her. I suppose someone somewhere might be willing to keep her prisoner for us, but for the life of me I can't think who."

    "Well, we could just leave her here if she promises to behave, and if not then, well, there's always the Paladin Order... I don't like them much but I like to think I'm on speaking terms with the High Priestess."

    "Eh, fine." Throlar runs.

    "I wasn't asking a question, I said 'what' to indicate the ludicrous nature of this sudden turn of events in a vaguely sarcastic way. And can you please put me down? I'm not a child you know."

    "Zarovitch, while I do not dispute your authority, I would much rather talk about this with the countess actually present, if you don't mind."

    Yeah, but the colors don't match up entirely.

    Throlar's lantern would definitely be red.

    Throlar didn't respond, simply gazing silently at the bodies. After a few minutes he knelt down, head bowed, and started muttering under his breath. A moment later he stood up again. "Because it's convenient," Throlar hissed, "You ought to be familiar with the concept, it's the most used reason for doing anything in this world. Including killing. Especially killing. Come, let's go."

We never said that we'd hand you over to the Fellcrest guards, we haven't even had a chance to talk about terms. Now if you want assurances, you've got our word, and that's all we have to give, and you yourself have just admitted that you don't have anything better for us. So pardon me for say this, but you constantly demanding more of us when you are incapable of giving us any stronger assurances than you already have is a rather hypocritical stance to take. I'm willing to accept your surrender without any further assurances of cooperation from you. Can't you do the same? An atmosphere of mutual distrust can be surprisingly conductive to cooperation." "Amber, I am around a century older than you, please don't call me 'kid'."
