  1. Throlar leaned over the side of the railing and shouted down at the figures on the beach (in passable Xuese no less). <"Everyone alright down there?"> he said, <"Does anyone need help?">
  2. "Okay, if you say so..." Throlar hurls his water bomb at the blaze with all his might.
  3. "I very much doubt my lone Water Bomb would do anything to stop that blaze."
  4. Throlar equips his Weathered Shield, his Conterstrike Gloves, and his Greaves of the Wolf in place of his current equipment.
  5. "I... didn't know that. Will you tell me more?"
  6. "It's not modesty, it's fact. Do you have any idea what it felt like? Lying there, almost dead, unable to speak or think or move, utterly consumed by pain? I still have nightmares about it sometimes, black, empty nightmares where I wake up screaming at the end. It's not something I like to think about."
  7. "The undead may be functionally immortal, but they can still be killed. They fear death, just not in the same way as the living. As for Heroica, we are difficult to kill, but not impossible." He briefly touched his shoulder. "I remember nearly being split in half once, I still have the scar from that battle. I would've died that day if some traveling merchant hadn't found my body lying on the road."
  8. "With the the undead it's something of a mixed bag, some retain their original personalities, others don't, it's hard to tell without asking them. I think it's related to how soon after death they're raised. As to your original question, I have had dealings with them in the past, and though some of them were unfriendly, most of them were perfectly reasonable, normal people like you and me. Well, aside from being dead. I feel that trust should be assigned on an individual basis, not based on skin color or post-mortem status. And I think Captain Winthrop can be trusted."
  9. "I think I"ll just get some rest."
  10. Throlar sighed. "In a rational sense I know you're right, but I tend to respond to things on a more... emotional level. I have trouble with fighting pointless battles," he looked back at the building, then looked away again, "I think I'll let it lie." "You asked Me where I met the black knight? Not much to tell honestly, he and a group of other ruffians attacked me and the party I was with on a quest. Truth be told, if the others were like him they probably deserved it."
  11. "They're still people, even if they were our enemies. And they might have been our allies! If this copycat hadn't set up shop here they might have joined Heroica instead. This quest that the werepenguin was killed over might've been given to us! We can't die you know, at least not easily. Instead one of them dies over a pointless bounty and the others end up fighting to the death for a coward who left them all to die! Arrgh! And 'Smith' as he calls himself still got away and we still don't know why the bounty was posted on squidface in the first place! And why was this 'Smith' starting a knockoff Heroica anyway? It feels like we haven't resolved anything, we've just made a bigger mess and have a load of unanswered questions! Do you have any idea how infuriating this is?"
  12. "No, not really. I just feel weird about it. We didn't really do anything about it. Or those guys back there," he gestured towards the destitute office, "Do you think anyone will bother to bury them? Or will they just be dumped in the ocean without so much as a goodbye."
  13. "Hm. It seems our friends don't mess around when it comes to running away." Throlar yawned. "Yep, I'm beat. let's get some sleep before the fatigue toxins really get to work. Lead on. Oh! By the way, are you going to hang on to the stuff you got from our unfortunate avian friend?" "You're drunk, you should get some rest."
  14. Throlar looked out of the office, checking to see if anyone was there.
  15. Throlar silently retrieves both his throwing weapons.
  16. (OOC: Hoke should no longer be sealed and I should no longer be fragile. My aura should also be gone and Varz should be stunned in addition to fragile.) Throlar attacks Monsique from the back row with his Mopagsaber. If he hits he will attack Varz, if he misses he will attack Monsique again.
  17. "Well," said Throlar, "might as well do this now." Throlar uses his First Aid Kit, then attacks Natnail from the back row with the Dwarven Portable Catapult.
  18. Throlar looked at his companions, utterly nonplussed by their miserable performance. "Well, if I have to carry this whole thing on my back," he said, "then no sense holding back." Throlar drank his Smelling Salts. "You know, in hindsight I ought to have done that in the beginning." he said as he attacked Monsique from the back row.
  19. Throlar briefly considered retrieving his weapon, but he decided that with Germ unconscious again they needed every possible person fighting. Accordingly, he attacked Monsique from the front row with his Mopagsaber.
  20. Throlar blinks at Natnail. "You again? What the hell are you doing here? Did you not get beaten down badly enough last time for your liking, is that it?" Throlar attacks Monsique from the back row with his Fellcrest Hand Axe. (OOC: Why is the Halberd still in my inventory? I'm pretty certain I already explained that it shouldn't be there.)
  21. "Wine, Montresor White preferably."
  22. "Oh, sorry. You said personal business and I thought... I"ll just go now."
  23. "Torald, I was being just a tiny bit flippant with that remark, please don't take it entirely seriously." "I don't disagree with that, I just disagree with shooting someone on suspicion rather than with irrefutable proof of enmity. If this fellow here (whom, for some mysterious reason, we are talking about as if he wasn't present) knew for a fact that the werepenguin was after one of his crew than that counts as self defense. But as we have no knowledge of weather or not that was the case, I suggest we let him inform us himself."
  24. "I'm not 'itching' to collect anything. No matter how tempting the offer is we have no information on why this bounty was posted or what he did to earn it. And though the offer is tempting I'm somewhat more worried about the fact that someone has set up a Heroica knockoff here. 'Quest twenty-two'? Really? That's our shtick! Do they have magic that prevents them from dying? No! As we just saw. However..." here he looked back towards where all the blood was. "...that does bring us to the fact that the good captain here seems to have shot a man who was on the other side of the room from himself, possibly with little or no provocation. That is something I find rather objectionable."
  25. Throlar walks over to the merman. "Excuse me, but I just saw a man walk out of here with a hole in his chest and die. Would you kindly tell me just what the hell happened in here?" Throlar doesn't take it because he's currently inside the building while Hoke is outside it.
