Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - General Discussion
Duvors replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
@Kintobor, as a point of order, Merei should be in F2 as Zepher stated they were moving there and the'd have to be adjacent to Yissam to rally them, meaning Kirwin would have to be in a different square (unless allowed to occupy the same space as another character). Also, @Dutch Thriceman, while throwing your sword could be done, there's no reason to. Ray is only one square away from you, less than your Velocity of two, meaning you could simply use the Position Special Action (which is free but can only be done once per turn) and use your regular Action (Only one per turn of any kind) to Attack normally. -
T' be honest, I be having' no clue. It just be clear tha' somethin' strange be goin' on.
-
Yes I savvy, it just be a stupid theory.

"Hmm. I suppose you could say I'm here for the same reason. I felt the need to see more of the universe and... I couldn't stay on Vin'quo. Not after the war." He was silent for a moment, lost in his own thoughts. Coming back to himself he gave the man a weak smile and said "Well Mr. DaCabe, I sincerely hope we're both chosen for this mission, if only so I can see you in action. One can learn more about someone's character by their deeds than their words as they say." -
Considerin' everything, 'tis strange t' me that Wallace be suddenly receptive t' Vivian's theory while still makin' a show o' not trustin' 'em, specially since neither o' them has ever voted fer th' other. This be not a concrete accusation, but it be botherin' me. What do be concrete though i' Vivian's attempt t' convince us o' a ludicrous theory about th' traitors sittin' out all three nights so far. It could be a ruse t' make th' blocker question their own actions. Vote: Vivian Pierce (Kaanere)
-
At this point, what with nobody dyin', the investigator no making any concrete accusations afore dyin', an' no blocker even hintin' at a possible suspect, I be thinkin' that there be somethin' stoppin' all night actions, not just one person's.

Enson smiled. "Nothing much, just some maintenance troubles. I've been around a bit though and can say that, as long as you can hold your own in a fight and are skilled in your areas of expertise, you'll do just fine here." Enson settled into his seat at the bar. "You're from Akharif you say? Would you mind telling me what brings you here?" -
Tha's nonsense. Iffin I was a traitor then killin' on th' first night'd be th' exact thing I would do fer the exact reason ye say I wouldn't. There be absolutely no reason fer the traitors t' sit out th' first night. I voted fer myself because I though if I wasn't voted out the first night then I'd be killed anyway, 'cause that's exactly what happened t' me th' last three times I been in one o' these things. That be due to havin' a poor sleep schedule and a lack o' real insights. I be not very good at analizin' people's actions over multiple days an' tend t' rely on others fer that.
-
Tha' be restin' on th' assumption that only one of the traitors can kill. Iffin they can choose who carries out the killin's then that theory be fallin' flat on its face.
-
Iffin ye want t' accuse me, how's about ye be tellin' us why ye're so suspicious? On th' whole, this serves me right fer relying' on other people's reads instead o' formin' me own opinion. At this point I be thinkin' either Kieran or Vivian, they seem t' be playin' a little too safe. It be more likely Kieran in my eye as a traitor goin' a whole day wi'out votin' or talking' be makin' no sense, an' that's just what Vivian did yesterday. It could also be Noah, seen' how much 'e went after Spencer yesterday, but I don't be thinkin' so. I still be thinkin' him t' be loyal, just indecisive-like. I'm just not sure how to read I'm switchin' 'is vote back an' forth day after day.

Heroica: Glory Amongst The Stars - Rules & FAQ
Duvors replied to Waterbrick Down's topic in Heroica! The RPG!
I'm fine with the majority of suggested changes, but having Spirit recharge both before and after battles seems a bit messy. I'd much prefer something simpler. -
F.A.B. Thank you. With regards to the Fighter Ace, the second trait is intended to apply to both handheld and mounted weapons. The entire class is designed to be useable without a specific set of vehicle rules already established. It occurs to me that, with the Crusader, Detective, and Scholar effectively done, the class system is more-or-less ready for launch. The Fighter Ace and Verdant Knight aren't part of the core list at the moment and can be added later if deemed worthy.
-
@Waterbrick Down After thinking it over, I think the Crusader's action is fine as it is. I have however altered the Detective's action to remove the stacking part, as it's primarily an out-of-combat action so that aspect didn't make sense and would be too hard to balance. On another note, I have a couple of prototype classes hanging out in the 'Future Ideas' section, namely a Fighter Ace and a reworked Verdant Knight.

Enson bowed. "It was the least I could do." He extended his hand. "Pardon me for not introducing myself earlier, Ensonvilterayquis - Enson, if you prefer - formerly of Vin'quo, currently of Heroica, at your service." -

Enson made a face upon hearing his planet described as 'serene' but said nothing. Once the racer had finished speaking he gave a slight bow and said "Thank you for the offer sir, but I am afraid I do not gamble." He looked pensive for a moment. "In truth I'm not one for big game hunting either, but whoever does go there will have need of medical services." Having said that he got up from his seat and strode over to the board, entering his name for Mission 5. He noticed that the list hadn't updated properly, only displaying two names when four people had signed up. Slightly irritated, he gave the device a little corrective whack and, after seeing it had updated properly, returned to his seat. -
Th' whole debacle did be startin' when 'e got voted fer on day one fer not speakin' up. Their response 'twas unreasonable, but iffin they hadn't been voted fer in th' first place we might've avoided all that.
-
@Rumble Strike I be thinkin' that votin' fer people on basis o' inactivity ain't a good strategy a' this point, seein' as that got th' investigator killed. Vivian may not be sayin' much, but I be feelin' that Mr. Milford's refusal to acknowledge 'is role in yesterdays disaster be more suspicious.

"Pardon me for asking, sir, but what is the Ivishin?" He spread his hands. "I'm not exactly familiar with... things from outside the Empire, you see." -
Vote: Spencer Milford (KotZ) After havin' heard y' all talkin' fer a bit, I be thinkin' tha' Spencer be actin' a bit unusual at th' moment.
-
Well, th' investigator be dead. Damn. I'll be honest, I ain't exactly sure where to sit on this one. I ain't gettin' a strong traitor feel from Noah or Harper, but I be thinkin' Spencer be havin' a point here. I think most o' his reasonin' about 'investors' be rank nonsense, there bein' too many typos in tha' last statement t' draw such conclusions from, but th' investigator bein' all suspicious-like of two people who lead the charge on votin' fer them can't be ignored. On th' other hand, Vivian's actions can be interpreted as trait'rous pretty easily, easy enough t' make me uneasy. Currently I be thinkin' I need a moment.
-
If it's any consolation, I'm sorry for my last-minute vote yesterday.
-
T' be honest, it could be tha' there's a bulletproof pirate among us, or a protector instead o' a blocker.
-
That's fair, but adopting a tone that clearly indicates that you take being voted for in the funny forum pirate game as a personal attack is an excessive response. This is just a game, any any actions taken here are, or at least should be, void of any personal hostility. Now to return to character: I be pretty sure t' consensus tis that th' lack o' kills be a'cause o' someone gettin' blocked in th' night.
