this whole ordeal was really unnecessary, wasn't it... honestly, im tired of reading about BS news... everywhere on the board it's BS this, BS that :-| im ready to say "the hell with it" and not use BS because of it... now, im not complaining to, or about, the operators of BS. and i also stress that i haven't done any complaining throughout this whole mess. so it's nothing against them or the site, and never has been for me. however, all that said, there comes a time, when enough is enough. i guess what im trying to put into words is that im emotionally exhausted over all this... and it's not over yet... it seems everyday there is another twist and turn :-| there have been quite a few heated discussions internally and externally (from EB.) there have been imposter after imposter (some im guilty of falling for and seem to be reoccuring even in this thread.) then there is all the discussion of which new site to migrate too. and to think, sean kenney and many others stepped up, and tried to overcome this just like everyone else... they spent a lot of time trying to solve this puzzle too, lets not forget. i feel bad for all these people who bought domain names, and started investing in alternatives to BS... im wiling to give them a shot. basically because im emotionally exhausted from anything that includes with the word "BrickShelf." again, nothing against the BS operators, this feeling is just an unexpected by-product of the hoopla. its kinda like paris hilton, enough is enough... while i have nothing against her as a person, im just tired of hearing about her... lets move on to something else in both cases. - BM

MOCpages is far superior to flickr... flickr is much too slow and too hard to navigate. also, and this is very important: flickr is a site for that is not LEGO specific. for a true AFOL communion to work, we truly need an all-LEGO site, where we can just browse LEGO related stuff, and feel like we are a part of something LEGO oriented. it seems to me, that it makes no sense to use flickr, yahoo pics, etc.. we need all LEGO, all the time ;-) however, i do agree with you, we need to unite under one roof, but so far it seems we are divided. dang. just to reiterate, im calling for a rally to MOCpages - BM

MOCpages to offer (free) image hosting
Brick Miner replied to Hobbes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
nothing against those other guys with new starting ups, but i hope everyone goes to MOCpages too. i like the site, it has a good interface, coupled with easy customization features... but most importantly, sean has expressed his commitment to the site.thats why i call for an AFOL rally to MOCpages X-D - BM -
MOCpages to offer (free) image hosting
Brick Miner replied to Hobbes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
hmmm... i wonder what sean will do ??? all i know is he said he doesn't want it to become a file server.im using it either way... i like the interface, the only thing that was stopping me was the ridiculous comments and rating system. now that that issue has been addressed, we should be ok. - BM -
MOCpages to offer (free) image hosting
Brick Miner replied to Hobbes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
thanks for pointing that out hobbes... i hadn't read the replies yet, only the initial announcement. so i see the feedback system will be greatly improved, awesome *y* *y* *y* i'll be there for sure then. i see norro even had similar feelings toward the old feedback system... however, i do see one thing that will stop MOCpages from becoming the next BS... -
MOCpages to offer (free) image hosting
Brick Miner replied to Hobbes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
thanks for the info hobbes... i really like the interface of MOCpages, and the customization that can be done with it. personally, i would love to use MOCpages as an alternative to BS, as it allows you HTML 8- -

thanks for posting this information about MOCpages, BaW and SW4J, so very very much... it really gives me some validation for "leaving" MOCpages for this very fact. i didn't know there were others who had similar runs-ins with unexplainable negative feedback with no constructive criticism |-/... just a bad rating with no explanation >:-( i did notice "ghost" after "ghost" on MOCpages, and not the "Ghost Town" kind, apparently its a "Halo" thing *wacko* this really does gives me validation, honestly, so thanks again - BM -
Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???
Brick Miner replied to john cleese's topic in General LEGO Discussion
ah, i see we have two threads going about the authenticity of this kevin... my fault. i wanted to get the news of BS's return posted a separate thread, with appropriate title, and where no one could miss it . so lets attempt to combine all related discussion into this thread... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=10430 sorry for the confusion, my fault. - BM -

BRICKSHELF is up again !!! HURRY HURRY HURRY!
Brick Miner replied to Brick Miner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
it is adding up that this is not him...however, my reason for believing it was, is because his first post was "Today, 02:42 PM " this was just as BS went back up, and just before i noticed it and posted this topic... since the timing was so close, and both occurrences projected a "friendly demeanor" i figured this was a good chance it was him. but it doesn't make sense that he would only be in contact with EB (i didn't know this fact as i am pretty Ebcentrical ). i mean we are important, but not that important :-D - BM -

i was unaware if he was in contact with other communities or not. if he isn't, than this probably isn't him. good point. thanks for the productive insight UB ;-) - BM -
BRICKSHELF is up again !!! HURRY HURRY HURRY!
Brick Miner replied to Brick Miner's topic in General LEGO Discussion
hmmm... there is a reason i believe this is authentically the kevin@BS... the time when he made his first post (in a friendly mannor toward the AFOL community), and the time BS re-opened (a friendly action toward the AFOL community), were right around the same hour. just coincidence, perhaps :-/ - BM -

Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???
Brick Miner replied to john cleese's topic in General LEGO Discussion
wait a second guys... BS is back up with a new message... http://www.brickshelf.com/ - BM -
my first dark ages occured just about here, id say closer to 10-14... thankfully i got back into lego when i was 15. armed with a larger budget and more spending power, these were bigger LEGO collecting years... this phase lasted for 3 years, until i was 18. this time period included the tail end of the islanders, and the release of WW and adventurers... three of my favorite themes.so id say, 15-18 i was real impressonable... you younger fans (below 15) might not have even found your favorite themes yet ;-) i know i hadn't. then my second dark age ended in 2005, where i picked right back up collecting pirates/islander, WW, and adventurers... however, this time im exploring an expanded interest in aquaraiders and city. i think the adult income is allowing me to collect more than one theme at a time now :-D before it was very sequential... islanders, WW, adventuers... one after another. id say i have three distinct "waves" of collecting... i's rather look at the times i did collect, as opposed to the times i didn't... 1987-1989 (ages 7-9) 1995-1998 (ages 15-18) 2005-present (ages 25+) hopefully a third dark age is in the far future ;-) currently it seems like it will be *y* - BM

Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???
Brick Miner replied to john cleese's topic in General LEGO Discussion
yes, me too. i of course have all my work backed-up (on my computer, CD, external hard drive, etc...). i mean, some of those edited photos i spent 8 hours on !!! there is no way i was gonna loose that work. so that isn't an issue for me... and i hosted all my images else where, the reason we still see the custom forum skins ;-) so hosting isn 't the issue either... however, browsing BS was great. i would fall asleep with BS 3-4 times a week. some people read a book, or watch TV to fall asleep, similarly i would browes BS. it was a great "low brain wave" thing too do... now i've lost this :'-( - BM -

LEGOREDO STATION wild west set #6785
Brick Miner replied to Brick Miner's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
hi holodoc, thanks so much for pointing this out... i was really interested in reading the question and responses, and i don't know any german, so i used bablefish to translate... i found this particular reply interesting... it seems all the replies linked me to EB... i had no idea people associated me so much with this website... i think that is pretty cool. and even brickster's website gets a mention !!! how about that X-D anyway, im not real sure if this last line is translate correctly, but i think i like the sound of it ;-) would a more appropirate translation be, "Except, January Beyer now instructs me that one should be (released)." or is this just me reading what i want to hear :-D im also not familar with 100steine.de... are these people that have responded, employees of LEGO ??? you mentioned "LEGO direct" in your post... are these employee's of LEGO Direct ??? what exactly is LEGO Direct, is it SaH ??? and who is January Beyer ??? lots of questions, but im curious, rightfully X-D thanks in advanced to anyone how can answer *y* and thanks again holodoc *y* - BM -
thanks for giving us some back ground story on all of that sne... i hadn't actually known the story of how the horn helmet myths got started. i actually wasn't questioning the truth behind the horned helmets, i was questioning why a few AFOL didn't like them. i think you might have interpreted my post wrong because i didn't make that clear enough... however, maybe you read it correctly, and now im just interpreting your post wrong *wacko* :-D in either case, i know that on this question we both have strong feelings,... and we are on polar ends X-D - BM

the person above me started a "The person above you game," which i thought was silly, until i read this reply, and had a LOL moment... and thats no offense to you Thok... it was just a golden moment in forum-style communicaiton. - BM

hello Jer... here is a link to how to use MSpaint, in the pirate forum (however, i use Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop)... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...10009&hl=decals im sure there are a few other links... you might try searching the board for "decal" and see what relevant threads you can find. and check out the pirate/torso library forum. even if your not into pirates, you might be able to find some useful techniques. here is a quote from a thread where i talk about a home printing technique that i use... and i have also created a color chart for matching LEGO colors... http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...l=color+of+lego an external reference, would be MCN... http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork.com/howto there they talk about "water-slide decals" and this is the process you will most-likely have to use, if you are looking to print white. which is really a "must." hope that helps, and good luck - BM
