Thanks for making this known, Big Cam. I've been using it for years, and it really is a great resource for instructions (over 2,5 GB downloaded so far). Not everything is available, but for those of you who are SW freaks like me, every single set released since 1999 is there to be downloaded. One minor gripe, the quality of the resolution is not what it used to be when TLG first made this available. But it's still another great customer service they offer which many other companys wouldn't or don't. So a big thanks to TLG!

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
gratefulnat replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes. This was an error on TLC's part. Qui-Gon Jin's face was displayed on the box art and instructions, and correctly so as this is an Episode I ship, but sets were packaged with Obi-wan's face from Episode III. Even Brickset has Qui-Jon shown with Obi-wan's face. I don't know how many sets/production runs were done with this error, but TLC's customer service certainly sent the correct face with no question's asked - as usual -

I couldn't agree more I agree, the 1/2 scale are just beautiful. Here's a nice picture of them all together. The only problem I see there, though, is then the price of each 1/2 scale house would be similar to that of the new set 10230. So this set is an affordable way to pick up a pretty nice mini copy of the modulars without breaking the bank...

What a great idea! I really hope to get this, I find it very appealing

I find this a very interesting thread - thanks for the thoughts you all have shared. I would like to present a slightly different twist on this, though, so bare with me. I was heavily into drugs (everything except Heroin) from 1987 until 1999. Six months before my son was born in June 1999, it became very clear to me that either I was going to be a father, or I was going to end up in the gutter and my son would grow up fatherless. Luckily I decided for the former and quit all substance abuse overnight (and it wasn't easy!), and 12 years later I can happily say with success But addiction had become a part of my life, and the longer I was clean, the more aware I became that I was not going to ever get rid of these urges. When my son was 2-3 years old, I started looking into cool toys for him, and 'of course ' discovered LEGO again. And that was the beginning of my new addiction: LEGO. Expensive, hard to find (as a collector), and time consuming. It struck me as very familiar to what I had experienced in the past, but it wasn't removing me from reality. I have met new people, albeit few, but passionate about their hobby. It is a joy to spend time together sharing our love of the brick. I love my hobby, and it has been a source of immense strength in my life. And I am not shy about LEGO, at work or privately, and the people that care for me are excepting of this, , for which I am very grateful. The only issue that I need to be aware of is the finances involved. I budget my year very consequently, and anything to do with my son has first place. Then comes our everyday lives and the little extra needed for any unexpected surprises (of which there are always more than imagined). After that - anything left over is for LEGO. So my savings might not be a great hit, but my love of LEGO, from the perspective of an addiction, keeps me from getting back into drugs - and that is something I treasure. I can say that I am happily addicted to the brick

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
gratefulnat replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
maydayartist - you have received so much appreciation for this endeavor, and I can only agree with all of it. What an amazing project & plus you share it here with us AFOL's - thanks so much! It somehow (once again) confirms for me just how amazing the building medium of LEGO is. I have been following this from the begininng, and I still eagerly await each new developement -
[MOC] "Micro Collection" Death Star World 1 & 2
gratefulnat replied to BaronSat's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Great answer! But it got me thinking about stability in playsets, and if I remember correctly the Kenner sets (& the micro sets) were pertty much indestructable (a lot less prone to falling apart 'under duress' than LEGO at least). I followed your link BaronSat, and was pretty impressed. Not having seen any of your instructions, I do think from just looking at your builds that your Sets/MOC's have a sturdy look. This is a reason I also find this MOC so appealing - it just looks like it will be able to handle quite a bit of play. Out of curiosity - how much of an issue is this for you when designing your sets? -
[MOC] "Micro Collection" Death Star World 1 & 2
gratefulnat replied to BaronSat's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Once again, these two creations of yours look stunning together - incredible work BaronSat! Such a breathe-taking playset - made me sit down and play with some of my SW sets - what a great feeling. What, you don't do that anymore? I can remember playing with some of these, didn't own any myself but a friend did. Fun times. Absolutely agree -
What an outstanding review you have presented Brickdoctor Thanks for the read and wonderful pictures, makes me want to get the set out again and build it. Certainly worthy of it's '10th anniversary' title in my books!

LEGO 10220 Volkswagon Camper Van
gratefulnat replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I just keep liking this more & more , and the price really is reasonable (particularily if you're a Star Wars collector like me). I'm getting excited for Christmas and it's still summer . The Dead will be blasting out of my stereo when I build this sweet set . -

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
gratefulnat replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, lots of ineteresting stuff here. If half of it turns out to be true I think next year really will be great. I think the idea of these planet mini sets is pretty nifty. And a royal starship would be... -
Tremendous result you have achieved with this MOC, Anio Your dedicated work has more than paid off! Thanks for showing.

Beautiful display, menq! This could inspire me to do my own similar project next year because it's such a great idea and looks fantastic! I'm toying with the idea of displaying all figs grouped together in regards to sets released per year.

Thanks for the links, Knight grogall! What a beauty this van is - I'll certainly see if I can replace the clothe with some tie-dyed fabrics once I get the set.

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
gratefulnat replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ha, my son and his friends were always pretty good with my LEGO, except for one exception: My son's first overnight sleepover at our house with two friends when he was five. I woke up at 5 in the morning due to funny sounds coming from the LEGO room, and found the three kids in the room, broken sets all over the floor AND a whole 1 Kg packet of chocolate powder emptied on the floor and spread all over everything. I have had a few bad mornings in my life, but this morning went down in family history as the non-plus-ultra of 'the worst morning wake up for daddy'! -
[MOC] "Micro Collection" Death Star Compactor
gratefulnat replied to BaronSat's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wow, this makes me wish I was a kid again, because this just kicks 'the behind' as a playset. Beautiful rendition BaronSat! (off topic: Well, 'a.s.s.' = megablocks, interesting censorship of words, so I went for 'the behind'. I thought this was a 18over forum, but I guess political correctness is taking over the world, or someone is just having fun , really doesn't matter anyway!) -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
gratefulnat replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
@Ritz Brick Your display is certainly presented in a much more organised fashion than mine was, looks great! After spending months taking down, washing and boxing up all sets from 1999 to 2009 (now working on 2010), I sometimes wish I didn't have all the sets. Of course, I'm actually glad that I do , but I've really had it with dust, cleaning, checking inventory etc. You have quite a collection on display, so dust must be an issue for you as well. How do you deal with it? (I went for 'ignorance is bliss'...) -
[REVIEW] 7962 Anakin Skywalker and Sebulba's Podracers
gratefulnat replied to parchioso's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks for the review, parchioso! I keep 7159 with 7186 watto's junkyard - it's the junk for Watto's yard , (although I bet (hope) Mr Man meant 7171 Mos Espa ). I think 7962 is the best of the summer line-up. It's a fun build and has some interesting parts, it looks great and it's also very swooshable. -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
gratefulnat replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yup, I do have that set but I find it so ugly it was hidden behind the UCS Y-wing Regarding perilous postions and such, over all the years I only ever had one accident with the UCS Blockaderunner taking a tumble (actually my son, who was six at the time, tried to lift it down and was a little surprised by the weight. The set flew apart on impact, but nothing was broken). No other accidents than that, the set up was actually much more stable than it looks. But it was a constant concern of mine - and I do feel much better now with only 1/4 the amount on display. -
Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
gratefulnat replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks Stoutfiles There are a few positive things to be said for being single, and this is one of them . And when I have guests (this is the guest room) they are sometimes a little overwhelmed ... I made a promise when I got the UCS shuttle that I wouldn't build it untill I made some space, so after taking down, washing, and boxing all sets released between 1999-2009 (except UCS), things do look a little different now. Not because I'm cutting back, but rather to be able to start displaying other themes... But it certainly does help make the display a little less cramped -

Lots of great collections and armies to be seen here - love looking at them. mutley777 - you really take the cake with your clone armies. I've debated for a long time whether to post in this thread or not, due only to the fact that I'm utterly useless with a computer (no deeplinking) and camera (even though it's not a good one anyway). Excuses, excuses, I know, but here is my collection as of 12.2010. The only things missing are the UCS shuttle because I hadn't built it yet, 7262 & chrome c-3po because I don't have them, otherwise all official TLC sets from 1999 till 12.2010, without any special collector/2 in 1/3 in 1 edition sets because I have the original sets anyway.
