iirc, the football (or soccer in USA) sets were released prir to the World Cup 1998 which was held in France. thereafter some other sets were released. but i would think there are only so many football sets they can make (short of changing the strip colour). so that's why it was discontinued. unless TLC manages to get license to produce various team colours w/ crests on the minifigs, unlikely they will release any more of these.

Great review!! i bought this set too back then. nice little car that can take 2 minifigs comfortably with a storage at the back.

the interior details of a dept store will require a lot of parts/mocs. but will be interesting to do. if i gather enough bricks, will love to do that.

i hope the train station is for subways. if not, the surrounding buildings will be quite noisy all day long. but great fire station you have there!!

wow!! that must be been some money spent on bricks! btw where do you get the sausages? didn't know LEGO had sausages. only knew of chicken drumsticks, fish, ice cream and pizza.

i have approx. 200 minifigs. some of which i intend to moc to some minifigs that i like but not released but lego.

they are ok with my modular series coz seriously those sets are really nice. as for my Star Wars sets, they are taking up quite a bit of room and so can get complaints at times. so far, is bearable for them though. sometimes when i get new sets, i put them away once i get home. gradually i bring them out to assemble and tell my family i am "mod-ing" a previous set.

i go on eBay to get parts when i can. i find Bricklink too exhaustive to go through for the parts. as for getting parts from sets, if i have a spare set, i will scavenge that set for the parts or moc the spare set e.g. Legoredo which i happen to have a spare. if i have the $$$ now, i will get the Taj Mahal for the tan bricks. so many there!! but the set itself is not cheap.

Great factory indeed!! makes me hungry!! was that 1 or 1.5 sandcrawler used to build the factory?

Lego is indeed gaining popularity here. @Striker: . did not want to take a risk of missing out on the sets so i scooped them up when i saw them. rather get then then pay astronomical prices later. this later resulted in furniture layout changes as i had to get a display cabinet for the 3 of them joined together.

Hi folks, i am Iz from Singapore. just joined this forum a few days ago. now my collecting history: was given lego when i was a kid (in the 70s & 80s). then moved on to other interests. reinstated the passion for it in 1998 when i bought the Western series (the Gold Mine & The Rapid River). again did not further pursue interest as price of lego was high and i was studying then. only started serious collecting 1 1/2 years ago when i got the Cafe Corner, Market Street & Green Grocer all within a week. then i started to collect those lost series e.g. Legoredo, some of the other Western series, Sandcrawler and the Episodes IV-VI series Lego. wanted to go into the Adventurers' series but realised that the series is very broad and my wallet may complain. as for now, still into collecting. every week will pop into the local store/s to check out if there is anything new/interesting to get. ooops...getting long-winded. hope to increase my collection/knowledge with u guys here!!

for me, i am not into the whole SW series. only Episodes IV-VI. so i try to get the sets that come with them and the minifigs too, of course. however i have a weakness for Jawas. am building a Jawa army atm. As for other characters that TLC will not issue, i am trying to customise them. so far, i have not come into a situation where i need to buy a set to get a minifig. though a 2nd sandcrawler comes close.

my sentiments exactly. need to get toi complete the modular series.

so far i have used Games Workshop arylic paint. they are good on plastic.
