[MOC] Azlarmuth - the tower of Kalla
the Inventor replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you all for the nice comments. -
East of the Whispering Woods lies the kingdom of Kadan. One of the peculiarities are the towers. These "Towers of Kadan", are build by the many nobles and mages in the land, each trying to make it even higher and more magnificent than the others. One such tower was constructed by the mage known as Kalla, his tower 'Azlarmuth' was extra special, because during construction a special seed was planted within. During the years, this tree grew, and the tower had to be renovated at some points because the roots and branches would seek it's way to the outside. Azlarmuth - the tower of Kalla by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Photographing and editing of this was a lot of work, mainly because of the height of the tower and the backdrop I used which was almost too small.

@BardDandelion Thanks. -
Last month was AquaJune (see alsothe group on flickr for more builds: http://www.flickr.com/groups/14858395@N21). It's a new theme month to builds some Aquazone MOCS, I posted two already, but maybe it's better to make a thread with all the builds. Let's start with the original Aquanauts and Aquasharks builds: Aquanauts - Crystal Discoverer 3 by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Aquasharks - Shark Infiltrator by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Then came the Aquaraiders, a mainly US Aquazone sub-theme with only a couple of sets and only one faction: Aquaraiders - Crystal Scout by Ids de Jong, on Flickr And last but not least, I made a Hydronauts and Stingrays build: Hydronauts - Reef Explorer by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Stingrays - Reef Rebel by Ids de Jong, on Flickr @sinister5988 Thanks for you comment in the other thread, I posted here all my Aquazone builds I made in June in one place.

[MOC] Nakano Camera Corner - A new district 7 cyberpunk building
the Inventor replied to the Inventor's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Thank you all. @danth it wasn't directly inspired by it, but it does indeed fit. I haven't been there myself, I was only a few days in Tokyo when I was there, but I have ordered some second hand stuff from the actual Nakano though. -
Thank you.

A fast stingrays one-man sub (although if you don't care about water resitance, you can ride with two) to get around and gather the crystal locations. Made for AquaJune a new theme month related to all things Aquazone and other 'sub' cultures. A lone knight enters the dragon valley at sunset, overlooking the valley on top of the mountain is a mysterious keep, nobody dares to approach, for the dragons are guarding it, rumor has it that many treasures are hidden there. [MOC] Nakano Camera Corner - A new district 7 cyberpunk building

Thanks all. @Yperio_Bricks really had fun making that rain pipe detail, glad you noticed. The Japanese Katakana on the yellow facade mean camera (カメラ). And the little shop next to the vending machine means Soba (そば) a type of buckwheat noodles if you don't know. -

The Nakano Camera Corner is a famous camera shop in district 7. Sakura is waiting in front of her dad's shop, waiting for Alicia to hang out. Here are some more details of the capsule hotel (reference to Neuromancer by William Gibson, cheap hotel). and the apartment block on the right side of the building with the Octan energy sign: See also: [MOC] District 7 - A cyberpunk figbarf - LEGO Sci-Fi - Eurobricks Forums

Thanks. @Peppermint_M Haha, I do think of stories when I make up the names of the characters, maybe not a Netflix series, but I could consider some short stories with some pictures or some sort of comic. But first I want to expand the cyber punk city where these figs live.

Thanks all. @Redhead1982 Still working on the layout, but it makes for a nice backdrop for this MOC. It features these two buildings which I have made before: District-7 - Ramen corner by Ids de Jong, on Flickr and: District-7 - SEGA Arcade by Ids de Jong, on Flickr
-
@AstroFalcon Thanks, I had fun designing those little details on the outside. @Redhead1982Thank you. About the setting, yeah a small supermarket/convenience store can be situated anywhere, I chose Japan for this build as I wanted to make a small Japanese town someday, that's why I placed the Sakura tree and small car in the first picture. The colours are based on the 7/11(seven eleven) store chain, which also operates in Japan. Although I chose to use those printed tiles as the store sign.

Alfred Jodocus Kwak together with the professor in Egypt looking for a medicine which can cure his ill colleague. Based on the Dutch/Japanese tv series of the same name: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_J._Kwak Which is one of my favorite childhood series, and of this episode I also had an audio cd, so I also listed to it a lot.
