Got a new one for you. Mobile Command Trailer Since I don't see anything very 'commanding' about it, let's consider it just a Space Utility Buggy. Everything is generally smoother for a more futurisitc style, what you think? LDD download/purhcase Link

Heads up. I was just at TRU and found 8416 Forklift for 15$USD, marked down from 70$ !! also saw 8420 Street Bike for 20$ down from 50$. Looks like they're making room for the new dune buggy and crane sets. Good luck finding this stuff, were only 1 of each left at my store.

hmmh Thanks for the info after seeing it I'm not interested, not for that price. It just seems too empty, none of the features are really impressive, and the walls are kinda thin. No actual buildings either... just those open towers a small building or two, maybe a barracks with pilot's quarters would really add to it.... aside from that the fort design is pretty archaic... that design went out of style with the advent of cannons in warfare... just too easy to knock out the walls if you really want to be a realistic fortress some squat buildings with sloping walls and underground areas would be better... they are on a mountain after all...

Yeah, I would like to do some Mtron and later era styles too, but so far I'm limited to just their smaller ground vehicles since LDD lacks the large sloped windscreen that was so common on spacecraft for that time. It's unfortunate, but I get the feeling that part http://media.peeron.com/ldraw/images/42/2507.png has been discontinued. Since it hasn't shown up in any sets, instead theres the smaller click-hinge version...

Since there aren't really any interesting Space sets nowadays... I find myself re-interpreting Classic designs... Here's a little patrol flier inspired by 6810 Laser Ranger I'm really happy with how it turned out, retro design, but still looks believable in a 'space biker' kind of context. Worthwhile price too. I'll have to make a few color variants and buy a small fleet.... Anyone else re-making Classic Space?

I dunno... I've always thought that the anime influence was pretty weak with ExoForce... the mech designs are non-typical for anime, they get lots of japanese words wrong or used in wierd ways... the story lacks the intelligence typical to anime storylines... character develpment.... It really doesn't feel very anime-ish to me... I do like the sets in general though, as they are a good base to build something Space-like out of, just toss out the wierd hair and don't read the comics on the back of the instruction books...

Does anyone know if there's a list of what parts have been discontinued, and possibly some modern alternatives they have? This might be something peeron can do, but I don't know how to do that kind of search.... anyone know? Or, if that doesn't exist my specific need is for these mini balloon tyres I feel like making some moon rovers, and they're just perfect.... except not available as far as I know... This modern tyre is the same size, except its cylindrical rather than spherical, so it doesn't 'skid steer' as nicely. Does anyone know a common modern tyre that is rounded for easy side skidding? Thanks P.S. I know I can just buy the old ones on bricklink, but I'm trying to stick to Newer equivalent parts, since I want soemthing sustainable for large numbers of mocs....

Yeargh! As ususal they pick the exact time that I want to check the price on some of my new ideas to go 'unvailable' I suppose it's a good sign though right? having inventory run out so often, is a sign that there is more demmand for LDD models than they expected....

I really think the big window should be in front....or replaced with a solid door Having a window in back, means he can't see out of it anyway, so all it does is act as a big vulnerable spot.
-
I see a slight resemblance.... Maybe the hollow pieces from the extending crane arm could even be converted into the missle launch tubes? I don't have this set unfortunatly, but if anyone else does... I think its just a neat idea to see...

We want a happy middle ground.

I just discovered a new Trick in LDD, this might have always been there.. but I didn't notice till now. When you have a brick or group of bricks selected, you can press pageup/pagedown or 9 and 3 on the numberpad; to raise and lower the bricks vertically with precision! This is incredibly useful, for example, if I have a round cylinder fueltank that I want to lay on it's side in the back of a truck(nostuds to join), this will allow me to lower it down till it perfectly touches the flatbed. ..or a bunch of logs to be stacked in the rear of a truck.. same situation, it will gently lower them into position, and stop them just as they touch. I'll bet it even has uses in helping to position SNOT bricks! less 'scaffolding' for me....

Hmmmh I'm assuming yer joking... but just in case... Yes they do have the right to decide, its in yer user agreement when you use LDD.... And you can't force anyone to sell you anything either... its the seller's right to not have to enter a contract if they choose not to sell.

What is Brickish and how can I be one too? Im in the USA, California and the Lego Shop I visit is the one at Valley Fair Mall, Cupertino From talking with the workers there, and from observing their shelves, they generally don't get new sets till a week or two after S@H and TRU, so nothing too special there... PAB isn't really all that great based on the wonderful stories I've heard about European PAB... In the last month or 2 though, they did have 2*2 Tiles, and rotated colors each time I was there... which is always nice... Now I have over 100 each of white, black, yellow, and mdstone tiles... Much cheaper than purchasing the 100 2*2 tiles set from S@H

Uhhh... Could you take a photo?

Seriously? They wouldn't sell him the bricks? Or do you mean they just wouldn't post it to the public Creations Gallery? I bought a 'Space Junkyard' with no problems... tho they deleted the model from the gallery afterwards... I want: 2*3plate with Hole, 2*2 plate with hole, technic half-pin, 2*2 turntable, and technic 4axles These are the operational pieces for making a System car with steering function. I'd also love to have 2*2 plate with 2 holes, but those arent in LDD... too bad.... Some bigger wheels would be nice too... Oh, and one thing they definetly need to add to LDD, is some technic Stop Bushes, they already have technic rods, and wheels... but no stop bushes to actually hold the wheels onto those rods... which is just silly... Anyhow, aside from that one Space Junkyard (which was used to get a buncha greeby detail pieces for other projects, I don't really need to buy stuff like 'dark red brick wall' since the parts I need are specific purpose for articulated steering mechanism... and I usually just design the entire car in LDD...or at least the chassis, so its pretty much is a complete model anyway, no fuss.

I think his Landfill Compactor is the best http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1899692 really clever use for those otherwise useless fence pieces (i dont make buildings) anyone recognize how the wheels work? it looks like some kinda chain or caterpillar track piece around a gear, but I havent ever had any of those... whats the part?
-
You could always... get the instructions, then build them using Real Legos instead... good design, with quality bricks = WIN
-
LOL I suspected as much ohwell, as pretty as they are, I simply cannot live without my HoG steering and playability. vrroom vrooom...

Actually, I like ExoForce better. I always thought anthropomorphic mecha (Gundam for example) looked silly, and much prefer the headless, utilitarian(relatively) ExoForce types. And of course the MOCs on brickshelf beat both of them...
-
I cant tell from looking what part he used, but based on his other mocs, and the general focus on display rather than functionality I wouldn't be surprised if those wheels are just sitting on a loose hinge and posed at an angle (not actually controllable). That and I dont see any visible Hand of God steering mechanism anyplace.

I've been saying the same thing about rebirthing Classic Space via LDD Factory.
-
Hey cool!, Actually, I recognize your username, a while ago I wrote it down since I saw your microscale space fighters in the Latest Creations gallery and though they were neat.
-
Whoa! someone else who actually uses LDD Factory I was seriously expecting no replies at all, it doesnt seem to popular here... whats your lego.com username?
