  1. Yup fun ship. Nowadays I just can't find all 4 of the wing pieces to put it back together... Tho, the freely swinging hinges on it kinda bothered me... I guess that's part of why modern click hinges were invented.
  2. WOW Theres even a City Battle Pack!
  3. I've gone and remade the TriWheeledTyrax. This one's a bit lower and sleeker than the original. Almost feels like a futuristic hot rod to me As with the original Tyrax, there is no steering mechanism for the front wheel. Manuvering is done entirely by skid steering. This works out fine for a moondust racer though. Impressive price too: LDD Link
  4. No clue the way they have different numbers for LDD sure does seem annoying. Does this help though? http://www.isodomos.com/VPH/Wheel Seems to list sizes...
  5. Well I like the effort anyhow. But maybe a pair of these: with a pink 1*1 round plate on top would be more appropriate proportions. Robo-boobies!
  6. Oh yay. I think what you need is a longer torso so they'll fit and still have room for shoulders above. And remember, closer together is always a plus
  7. Shoulder pads look odd. those Are shoulder pads right? cause they're too high up and wide to be anything else really...
  8. I like how there seem to be more small sets than usual. makes things more accessible... also seems to be a bit of system construction mixing in too...
  9. Soooo. Did an Admin remove the list? At the request of ?TLC? I'm going to assume then, that if TLC asked the list to go away, then its not just speculation but probably was something real?
  10. Interesting little wave rider Though the parts aren't especially rare. It'd be much more 'must have' if they had a female coast guard minifig instead of that relatively common guy... Something like this...
  11. Anyone speak ?Chinese? who can tell us more about that thread this was found in? Where its from, etc. Is it just pure speculation? Doesn't seem to inform of much... sounds like there's going to some sort of Galaxy Patrol group... I wonder what their opposition will be called and how many of those 6 sets(if any) will belong to that faction....
  12. I like the combo of two slope types at the front to make that battering ram wedge. Tho it looks more like some kind of mobile bunker than a tank to me, mainly because of the shape, box-like with 3 walls and open roof and rear.
  13. I thought fleshies were bad... but then I saw something even worse! Found on brickshelf (owner... rogueyoda) OMG! But Maybe, Maybe, these wierdo's could be used as Space Aliens? They remind me a lot of the scary scary aliens from 'Fire in the Sky' See the resemblance? Hmmh, I thinking of a MOC...
  14. I keep seeing this set semi cheap on ebay. But... That minifig really is terrible. And I dont see what I'd do with only 2 of those wheels, nice as they are. Guess you could buy 2, to get a set of 4 wheels, but then you'd be stuck with 2 goofball minifigs too.... Now the blue skinned female insectoids pilot on the other hand.....
  15. I actually have strongly disliked all the 'new' Star Wars movies. But some of these sets look pretty good. Seeing the recent pics of the Separatist Spider Droid I'm half considering buying one. The pistol accessories look perfect for Space(Firefly anyone?), and the clone uniforms can probably be recycled as space suits.(lose the helmets)
  16. Heh, Indeed it was. Why? I don't believe in keeping MISB boxes on my shelf, I always open em up and play with them. I collect LEGO, not Cardboard. By the same logic, I'm not willing to pay the insane prices that MISB things tend to go for; that I found this one reasonably priced (6$USD) was pure good luck.
  17. Lucky me, got ahold of one of these from ebay. Oldest set I've purchased since dark ages. The back of the box has some alternate models. The wierd asymetrical rover with different left/right sides reminds me of the UFO Cyborg Scout....hmmh The fine selection of parts. I'm glad to have the nice printed control panel, and that windscreen is hard to get lately. Also really like those space wheels, be nicer to see them in that size in MM sets... MM seems to be using the same series of space wheels... but not this nice medium size just yet.(too big or too small so far) In-Build picture, the front wheel is held on from one side only. I would have preferred a technic axle going through it and both front arms, but technic parts weren't as heavily used back then. The back of the cockpit is just a single brick stack. Ordinarially I'd call this weak and prone to snapping off in play, but here it feels quite solid. These old bricks go together with a hard snap, not a 'smush' like the modern ones, so they clutch really well and unbraced construction works better. At the time this set wasn't all that spectacular, and most reviews seem to think it looks funny... It has an odd tricycle wheel configuration with no apparent steering, but I think it works OK as a fast moon rover scout. On space dust the tough looking wheels would work well, and you could use skid steering... Guess we can think of it as a futuristic oversized motorcycle
  18. The combo of that large sloping windshield with the modern giant wedge slops looks great. Have to think about trying that myself sometime.
  19. Really?? Does anyone have a pic of this online I'm rellay curious now. My own assumption was that given the odd 'biotechnological' feel of the alien ships, and the similarity of colors between them and the crystals. as well as the green honeycomb stuff seen in many box arts... Is that the aliens are actually some form of silicon-based(cyrstaline?) life forms. Like the crystal fields are their home and they need it to survive.... Hence the humans found crystals and started mining, inadvertantly starting a war with the aliens because they didnt understand the signifigance... thus both sides think the other is evil... At any rate I like my story better, leaves much more room to play with....
  20. I'm sure you all remember the classic Astro Dasher? This is my interpretation of it. As usual attitude thrusters are important... LDD purchase link
  21. Technic parts would probably be useful if you want to make a single bar strong enough for the front wheel... Same with the rear for that matter, as it it looks pretty unplayable.
  22. If it's a StarWars or Bionicle set it goes straight to parts. Maybe built, but only for a few days. Duplicates that I found on sale, also go straight to parts, unless they are small ones and I was feeling bored and wanting to do some army building. If you have a set on the shelf and never look at it or take it out to play with, then thats probably a good candidate for parts...
  23. !my.... ....eyes! so big.... so blurry....! noooooooo!!! Sorry, I cant see any of your photos. They're just too big to fit into my eyes. Jeez... that must be what people look like to ants... WHEW! Ok I turned javascript back on so the forum could auto resize them. thats better, still blurry though.
  24. Pulsar Charger is the first Space set I ever owned. So here's a tribute using the modern parts I have on hand. ...I should swap out that pilot for someone more M-Tron-ish he's just a random one from build-a-minifig... Comparison to the original. I couldnt find all the parts in the right color...black seat, also its supposed to have a steering wheel...
  25. Great looking set. And that glowy blue octopus is really cute, I might just get it for that. Be great in a Space moc.. Wondering, from the pdf instructions I saw, it wasnt clear what the Agent in the sub is sitting on, hows his seat work? and it looks like theres a compartment below him...
