A very clever build indeed! I'm pretty curious how this will look in real life...

Excellent stuff!

A guarded inn on the outskirt of the Green dragon's realm.
KristofBD replied to teabox's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Good job! I especially like the use of the log bricks on the tower (took me a while to figure that out). I also feel that the building is consistent as a structure. Lastly I like the use of the yellow bricks, which adds a little spice to the traditional dragon knight colour scheme. Excellent work! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
KristofBD replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nope, according to my local Bart Smit contact LEGO can't even give the date when they will arrive. It's all unclear. But the online stores have received their boxes, so you might find them there... -
Congrats to the winners! There were some excellent entries! Perhaps it's a silly request, but it might be nice to include a picture of the winning mocs for the forum division?

Very nice tower shape. I say: this is definitively worth the rebuild!

Well, it makes sense, as these are the 'baddies' they should have black horses. A white or brown horse would seems a bit odd in my view.

Excellent MOC! There's a few clever building techniques in there, but I like the overall atmosphere the most. The picture fits and feels very much alive. Good job!

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion

Some interesting figs, I will certainly buy the butcher for the accessories and the highlander. May be I'll buy the leprechaun as well for the torso. All in all I think they are ok, but not Woow as series 4 and 5. Still: I think there's a lot of creativity involved here. -
Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26

It's definitively the details that do it. The well is simply stunning, as is the open-air workplace. Great job! -
REVIEW: 2254 Mountain Shrine
KristofBD replied to Velika314's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I actually like this set. It is sufficiently detailed and includes some nice parts. -
Excellent MOC! I agree with the other comments that the dock, the staircase and the rocks are definitively the highlight of the MOC. I also like the overall shape of the castle and think it was a good choice to make all the areas accessible. If I were to have any comments I would say that the three studless 1x8 bricks above the gate are perhaps a bit odd. May be it is better to build a balcony or shooting holes instead? Another very minor suggestion: looking at your moc-page pictures I saw that you also used dark bley as a filler n the walls just behind the gate. It looks a bit odd as it suggests that the rock continues in the wall. Probably both minor things are due to a lack of suitable pieces (something we all struggle with) and none reduce the overall quality of your MOC - they are just minor. Good job!

A very creepy MOC! Excellent job. I also like the horizontal rock section the most. Well done!

Excellent MOC! The details are truly atonishing and there's so much going on that one could keep on looking at it. Great job, and very inspirational!

To be honest, I feel that the original ship as shown in the movies is actually an ugly and generic (black) ship. I guess it was simply impossible for lego to make it a beautiful/attractive ship. My beef is mainly that the parts selection is disappointing (along with the flaw of the figurehead). Parts selection does not seem to be a designer's flaw, but rather a cost-induced motivation. But at least the cabin is good - far better than the QAR.

Great news!! Well this surely opens a lot of possibilities. I hope the series will also have enough attention to the actual sets. After all there is a risk that the sets will be far too minifig oriented, while a set like Arkham Asylum would be great as such. We'll see.

I am in dubio here. The ship looks pretty basic and the parts used are nothing special; with the exception of the black log bricks. There is definitively not much detail and it looks more like a floating fortress than a ship. On the other hand, the figs are very nice. Additionally, I do like the overall shape of the ship and (especially) the cabin. Moreover, there is definitively room for modifications. I may still buy it for these reasons. This will probably be a set that I will grow to like after modding it. The same happened to me with the mill set from. Quite often the apparently somewhat flawed sets are better than the good looking ones. We'll see...

Soldiers torso from London Escape pink print?
KristofBD replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in LEGO Pirates
I had the same problems (pinkish print and misprint on the hat) I asked for replacements as well, but the replacement hat was actually worse . The torso print was slightly better on the replacement torso. Overall it is less pink than my lion knight soldiers (Kingdoms line), but still I agree with Derfel Cardam: given the high price of the set, this is unacceptable. -
Overview of the LEGO Castle Range 1960-2011
KristofBD replied to SirSven7's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very nice and informative. I agree with your main argument: we've been through dark times, but from 2007 onwards the Castle line has really delivered some true gems.
