REVIEW: 76004 Spider-Man: Spider-Cycle Chase
marcosbessa replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I must say at first I was afraid I would have troubles getting my initials into any stickers at all - because of the funny coincidence of the initials - but, fortunately, it was never an issue :D- 62 replies

10937 Batmanâ„¢ - Arkham Asylum Breakout
marcosbessa replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
The info on the box is the correct one regarding the age mark and the number of elements. It was a mistake on the press release. Too bad all the pages of comments on this set were lost with the forum's server problem... At least I got to read all the enthusiasm of you guys! :) I'm really glad you seem to like my first Direct Set! As an AFOL, I must tell you it was another dream come true! Can't wait for you guys to lay your hands on it!! -
Conversion from Vampyre Castle to Arkham Asylum
marcosbessa replied to the Hulk's topic in LEGO Licensed
Great adaptation! I loved how you clearly thought through all the different details according to each villain that you wanted to include! ;) -
Looks like your Quinjet is gonna become more popular than mine! Good job! You definitely captured a lot of the angles that are so iconic for this ship. One of the features I like the most - and that unfortunately I had to remove from the official model - is the angled wings, which makes a whole difference in the final design. But I had to give the kids the chance to hold the model from the wings... Damn these kids that play with LEGO, if it wasn't for them... (irony! ) Keep up the great work! P.S. And nice to see that you kept the little fire extinguisher!! Safety always, right?
-
Well... regarding the technic plate underneath, i was limited to the colors available of the element. And that was mainly the reason. About the drone, I've seen the kids playing with it and it was awesome see their enthusiasm about that feature, so I can only say I'm proud of it! :) And thank YOU for all the feedback! ;)
-
It was my decision to leave them out of the model simply because including then besides increasing the price, would highly compromise the stability of the model on the wings and increase considerably the complexity of the building. In the end it's always a matter of compromising between all the things we have to bare in mind when we build a LEGO set... ;)
-
No, usually the minifigures are responsability of the Graphic Design Team, along with the stickers. I did the model itself. Nevertheless, I think my colleagues did an amazing job with the figures! :)
-
Well... now I'm curious to find out what exactly you're referring to... because, of course not everything is 100% tied to the movie, sometimes we have to make a compromise, either because of design choices, play offer, or even inadequation to the LEGO spirit and values... I have my guesses of what it could be, but just send me a PM! ;)

Thanks Tereglith! I appreciate the time and effort you've put on such detailed and rigorous review! ;) Hope you're enjoying the other sets of the line too! ;) Take care

Hi Starstreck! Thanks for your review! So far this is my favorite LEGO set that I have in the market. I've been to London last week for the movie premiere and I was really happy to see that the Quinjet besides being featured a lot, is quite close to my model! The movie producers did a great job!! (irony!! eheh) I'm glad you liked it! And besides you gave me a 2 out of 5 stars on the Build, I actually take that as the best compliment of it all! Cause it was definitely the hardest challenge of the whole model to build something as cool and close to reference and still being suitable to 8 year old kids to build! :) Take care

REVIEW: 6863 Batwing Battle Over Gotham City
marcosbessa replied to montgocloud's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks for the review, montyofmusic! I'm glad you liked the set. This is one of my first sets. I had the task of creating something as cool as the old batwing set, with much less money... I believe i did my best within the circumstances. I tried to achieve a better bat-shape for the batwing, which i'm pretty satisfied with. But i must say it's a surprise to see that the fans seem to prefer the jokercopter! :) i guess it's teaching me never to expect anything specific from the fans... eheh -
MOC: Alvis TA 28
marcosbessa replied to marcosbessa's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you guys for all the comments! It's great to read such nice words, as I know it won't be quite the same case when my first sets from Super Heroes come out! -

LEGO oficial lights. 4 sets of them. Thank you guys for all the nice words! :) -
Finally, after so long without creating a MOC, here I am again to show you guys what I came up with lately! :) It's the Alvis TA 28, a fictitious model inspired by the vintage cars produced by the british company Alvis, after the World War II. I call your attention to the fact that it has a functional steering wheel, real lights in the front and in the back and functional doors and seats. :) More pictures (31 in total) on my Flickr account, here. Hope you guys like it! It was really fun to build! See ya! :)

I checked the inventory of the sets used and they have all the elements i've used... the 4x6 black plate you say it was missing, I believe it should be 2 2x6 black plates! ;)
-
Yeah, I'm working for LEGO as a designer since october last year! ;)
-
Ahaha... no, I'm just responsible for the design of the model itself. The way it was used/distributed as nothing to do with my work! :) So, not my fault... And I can't give you more than what you have, I'm sorry!
-
Dream Team, thanks so much for this review! This was my first work at LEGO as a Designer. Yes, I designed this! :) It has been unbelievable to be on the other side.... but specially now reading the first review of my first work coming out!! And the fact that it is such a nice review on this "first-kinda-set" of mine is just awesome! Thanks a lot! ;) I was intrigued by the fact that there seems to be some "extra elements" in this combo-set... I believe there must be some mistake, but I'll check it anyway! Cheers!

Just to let you know that there's a real copy of a slightly updated version of this MOC under an auction to help the victims of the earthquake in Japan! I built a copy of it a few weeks ago and now I've donated it to Creations for Charity! ;) Fallow it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200598681192#ht_500wt_1156 And more pictures of the real-bricks-version, on flickr here! Cheers

@KielDaMan Good idea to keep an index and thanks for including my files, but I would prefer if you could change the link to the original download page instead of the direct link. Thanks.
