HP 5 - I really enjoyed it, and I think it's probably the best harry potter film yet, considering the shambles that number 4 was.

We had a fantastic day, and here is a link to my flickr with photos of the fun we had on the day. It was uber geeky, but we didn't care, we just reveled in it. I hope that everyone else who went had as good a day as we did.

Problems with BS / Is BrickShelf no more ???
JoeMI6 replied to john cleese's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I haven't read this topic thoroughly, but I have a question, is there absolutely no explanation for the site's demise? Either way, it's not a great situation, as I'm sure many of us may have now lost pictures of our MOCs or whatever. Let's hope that we get an explanation or a resurrection soon. -
We sure shall do. Anyone else going this weekend? It looks like it's going to be a damn awesome day (or days lol) for those getting a chance to go.

I can see what everyone is saying here. The thing is, while there are many design flaws in the basic EF sets, the bulk of them (especially the original sets) look great and are very striking. They can also be a lot of fun to play with, as they have many posable parts and you can pit the good guys against the bad in whichever way you want. I'll admit, I would like to have much better designs and sets made, but I think for kids, it's just about what is fun, and if a set falls apart on them, they're just gonna pretend it's part of the story, and put it back together again. As for this new set, I just hope the phrase 'Things can only get better.' applies.

Yes, very well done, and welcome to EB. I agree with Hinckley, you should try and make the colours of a more grey/black colour scheme. But I know how hard this can be if your collection is limited, just like mine :-P

I quite like this, and while more figs would have been nice, it would jack the price up more and more, which isn't always the best. Motor functions - I do not like. An unnecessary addition which just hikes up the price some more. I doubt I'll be getting this, even though it is another chance for me to get an AT-AT. I'm betting it'll be north of

Who Wants To Live Forever - Breaking Benjamin Oh, iamded, Lord Thrawn and I are going to see Incubus in September *sweet*

I'm in! A great idea for a contest. It doesn't even matter if I win or lose, cause I've already got a lego ice brick tray :-P

Very nice little review. Tis too bad I'm skint and can't afford any sets at the moment. Loved the little story too! Also, on your comment about the skellie horses. All Lego horses are posed like that because it's the way horses walk. Check it next time you can.

lol, cool. Well, I guess there is a small chance of us meeting a guy who we don't really know the name of and who we have no idea of what he looks like ;-) I can't wait to go there and see how many people we meet who are dressed up on the journey there. Imagine a tube packed full of Stormies and Jedi lol :-P

Sounds great. If I wasn't so skint, this'd be one of my next purchases...

It was fantastic. I especially liked Ponda Baba, Admiral Ackbar Cereal and George Lucas at the convention.

I'm loving the look of this. Even from only the first fig glimpse. I just hope they can do this series the justice it deserves.

Very nicely done figs here. Although I like your bow solution, I would like to recommend using a longbow from brickarms, I have one, and think it would suit much better. Here is a pic of it on my Prince Ashitaka minifig.

Questions concering Avatars (sort-of)
JoeMI6 replied to SirNadroj's topic in Forum Information and Help
lol. Yes, all admins can give out titles. However, on some forums, one can have control over one's own. I like our system though. It saves people changing theirs as frequently as the weather, and it means that we get to know people cause of their title and the reason it was given. It can also provide comedic value and punishment. Spammers, bad members and newbies, you have been warned ;-) Just kidding. We're nice people really... -
Cleese, if you read it, you'd see that the wings are Ja-Kia's jet pack, and the scythe is his weapon. Another fantastic job Graynar. I especially like the Iron Drone Dropship. The design is very cool.

Someone's gotten the Sith Infiltrator
JoeMI6 replied to Two-Faced Batman Fan's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm not too happy with the size of it. It looks too out of scale really. -
Well done for clearing that up Lord T. I really like the sword as well and need to make one myself pretty soon. I also concur with my Lord ( ;-) ) on his bike comment.

It you actually time it, from the moment the title goes, all the vids this guy does are about 5 seconds. Most of them are pure gold.
-
I can't exactly remember why I got mine, but I think it was because I was always one of the first to welcome new members to the forum in the 'hello my name is...' threads. It could be cause I'm generally a pretty friendly guy. Dunno whether that could've changed in the time I've been here though. I'll leave that for the admins to decide ;-)

It might just be me, but I swear this model resembles the Threepio in that video. I also remember seeing other models on the SW site, such as the Boba Fett one which looks almost exactly like Fett in the video too... Either way, it looks great.

Happy birthday guys, hope you each have a great day!

Meh, life goes on. If there's a good product made primarily for kids, they're gonna want to make more money out of it. Even if it is with bad merchandise.
