  1. Played the demo, it is very good. Mostly been playing GTA: Vice City on my PC. Such a great game, and the style just about ensures that the engine holds up. Great fun, cool story and just awesome, especially for someone who was never really drawn into the core story of the GTA games - I used to just get up the stars and have the cops chase me.
  2. Yeah, he'll possibly be the first guy we see Bats properly take out before Joker steps into the limelight.
  3. Unless you're totally purist, you can use brasso to take off the beards of the Viking heads if you felt that would be appropriate.
  4. What I meant by no real arc for Batman is that I can't see a whole lot of good story in this chapter so far. And after two trailers I thought I would. As for my comment Brainbox highlighted on Dent, I know that Harvey Dent is meant to be good looking, but I meant that going by what we've seen so far, there doesn't appear to be much more to his character. Also, if a film that jumps right in the middle of a story (new Hulk movie) seems to tell a story better than a film that has already had one film in it's series, I can't be the only one to see something wrong with that. Maybe the trailer will grow on me once I see it on the big screen (which British cinemas seem averse to at the moment)

    Happy B-Day Yoda

Happy Birthday Yoda! Je suis désolée pour the lateness!
  6. A disclaimer (before all those who love the new trailer start baying for my blood): What lays here is my opinion, and I am a dedicated comics fan, both Marvel and DC. If you don't like it, you can lump it Going by the second trailers, I think The Incredible Hulk looks like a better movie than The Dark Knight. Before I saw this trailer, TDK was my must see movie of 2008. I had gone Batman crazy. I read The Long Halloween religiously, gearing up for awesome with Heath Ledger's Joker, Aaron Eckhart's Harvey Dent/Two Face and the continuing story of Nolan's and Bale's Dark Knight. What do I get from this trailer? 1. Less Joker is more. The Joker is not the character who reasons, and sits down for chats with the other criminals. He is the incomprehensible psychopath who we saw in that first trailer and that 6 minute prologue. The reasons should come from a character such as Two Face, who is born of a politician (although seemingly not in this movie, but more on that later...). Unless we're going to see a wicked turnabout, the vicious, fearsome Joker I was looking forward to seems to have been diminished to a badly written, and oddly voiced smaller villain, when he is meant to be the biggest, baddest Bat villian of all. If this is what we get then 'Here, we... go." - out of the theatres. 2. I no longer believe in Harvey Dent. My view is that Harvey Dent should be the determined DA who wants to, just like Batman, rid Gotham of all its ills. This is what makes his transformation to the insanity of Two Face so jarring. When I only see a pretty boy who wants to steal Bruce's girl, that's what I see. The trailer is meant to show us the best of what character is to come. Yes, we get a glimpse of Two Face, but if one half is so bland, then I'm hardly going to care about the other. 3. And last, but by no means least, The Dark Knight himself. Batman is the main character, but where is the so called Dark promised from the title of this sequel. I see nothing of the rage and black night that came with Nolan's first installment. Furthermore, what is Mr. Wayne doing with himself? I personally think a character should have a slight arc, it helps with storytelling see... And if the only thread of story in Batman's life now is Lamborghini by day and Batpod against villains by night, I like Alfred, may begin making bad jokes at the character's expense. Now, before I duck for cover, let me say this. I am still going to see this movie. It's still one of my highest film going priorities this summer. But this second trailer I waited for has somewhat dampened my expectations. I hope you guys feel that there is reason behind the rant. Feel free to resume nice comments and discussion now
  7. I saw Iron Man with LordT. Damn awesome. Ditto on what he said, the actors did a great job, there was no BS (unless you're talking training exercises here ;-)). It was just fantastic! I recommend it to all.
  8. Well, look at it this way, the more time you spend deliberating over your order, the longer you'll be waiting anyhow...
  9. Fantastic job. The tan is my fave. I also find it great that that Anakin hairpiece looks even better on certain minifig heads. Keep up the great work!
  10. Loving it. I love the the fact that it just looks so impenetrable, yet also so sleek. Yes, I know it's bulky, but it seems to carry itself with a certain sleekness, if that's understandable. I also like the idea of the detachable extras if you can afford them. If we get to roll around in these bad boys, bring on Defcon 1
  11. I think I'll get this. Looks like an awesome vehicle and as expected, some cool minifigs to go with it.
  12. May have said this one before, but I'm working on a minifig version of Travis Touchdown from the Nintendo Wii game - No More Heroes. He's pretty much done, just haven't gotten around to snapping and editing it yet. Should have it up within the next month maybe.
  13. Venom most probably, although I also have a soft spot for the Skrulls and Doc Ock. Also, Deino, you're right, that is one fantastic issue.
  14. Fantastic work as always Vader. You've really captured the essence of Heath Ledger's Joker. One gripe, and I think it's been mentioned already - the eyes. They work great, especially for a Lego interpretation, but if you wanted a bit more realistic look, then maybe you could try fading some of the dark around the eyes, sizing them down a bit, and maybe adding a bit of a bloodshot effect. Also, the hair is a great job considering it's rather hard to get the faded dye look using the green stuff. Great job, keep it up!
  15. I'd support and participate in a Nintendo or video game themed contest too. Although I think Dark Sword Ragnorok's idea is a good one, I feel it's a bit too restricting, as once you get past Star Fox and Advance Wars (which is basically just cartoon war) and Metroid (just a starship thing really) there's not really much in the way of Nintendo vehicles. Or at least, not much for those who aren't really big Nintendo fans.
  16. We have a lot of Nintendo fans on the forum, however, I think an overall video game theme might be better, otherwise people will be wanting a Playstation theme, Xbox theme etc... And that's just silly.
  17. I do not even want to know... Anyways, thanks for the great find, and I think this will be one of the many releases to look forward to this year, not to mention all the great Lego it should produce. Sorry if that's a bit too on topic for you Hutt 'fans'. I'm using the term fan loosely here. Ever so loosely as I'm too scared to wonder what this classes you guys as
  18. *Dwarf looks down at short stubby legs* *Troll looks down at immensely huge legs* Dwarf - "OK. Maybe we'll need to get a Knight to try this out..."
  19. Went into town with my good friend LordT. Bought some Pepsi Max, Mike & Ike and Oreos. Then went down to the park and recorded some video footage for a project. I also got my Mark VI Red Spartan thanks to LordT getting it from Forbidden Planet up north. More recently, watched the Grand National and saw my Mum win £72. And I'm off to a party later. All in all, a very good day.
  20. Well, with an Arwing and a Landmaster, your biggest difficulty will be the purple sections. So I recommend this; don't stress yourself about the purple, as it's a scarce colour in Lego, and just follow that Arwing MOC Tarfful posted, as that had the right idea. If you want to make it really good, try to use SNOT as well, as that will add to the sleek feel of the vehicles.
  21. Batman, hands down. The Long Halloween is one of the best graphic novels I've ever read, and I just really like the character. Reading The Dark Knight Returns at the moment, and am thoroughly looking forward to the Dark Knight Movie this July!
  22. Dogma, then Almost Famous. Two very good movies which I think I'll always be able to come back to.
  23. It's been confirmed for a while actually Steve, but I think because of the whole Heath Ledger thing it's kind of passed under the radar, but we should be seeing the Dark Knight advertising leaning more towards Harvey Dent/Two Face in the run up to release apparently. Back on topic... A nice attempt at the fig. At the moment, the only ways you could really deal with the hair is either sculpy or sacrificing a beloved hairpiece to go under the knife. Keep up the good work though.
  24. Playing me a fair bit of CS:S and Audiosurf at the moment. Also getting back into my Capcom frame of mind with Viewtiful Joe before No More Heroes is released.
  25. Woah, very nice work, on both the tumbler and the Batwing. If you get a chance, could we see the Batwing silhouetted like it happens in the first Batman movie, as I think that'd look pretty cool. I might have to order myself that Tumbler, great design, and reasonably priced :D
