If LordT and I ever get around to it, there might be a contest from us in form of Create A Villain. I'm not sure if anyone even remembers Create A Hero, it was so damn long ago...

Bar the fact that Shadow is one of the stupidest things that has happened to the Sonic franchise. Anyways... Brawl is looking to be one of the must have games for the Wii this year. I just hope there aren't any more delays. It's great to see that they're not detracting from what was such a winning formula in Melee and that the new additions are truly worth it. Let's just hope it's not delayed to the summer...

What game are we playing at the moment?
JoeMI6 replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I've recently finished Crysis for the PC, and it holds to the title of best looking game ever. I've also been working my way through hard mode on Guitar Hero 3 for the Wii, and am getting close to finishing Metroid Prime 3. This is in addition to playing some Counter-Strike: Source with my friends - a very fun and challenging game. Looking back on all the games I've played in 2007, 2008 is going to have a lot to live up to. -
Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
JoeMI6 replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Apart from some Bionicle canisters, I don't really keep any set boxes. They just take up too much room and although some are pretty nice, in the end, they're just something that helps sell the goodies inside. -
Whilst the preliminary box art is a bit of a mixed bag at the moment, I'd say it's for the Dark Knight. As many have pointed out, the fact that the Joker is the new villain already proves this. As for the cartoon, it seems to me that it resembles the Batman from BB and TDK anyways - I think it could be just an attempt to link the set to the comic book roots. Old figures are fine by me, as I don't think TLC was ever going to try and create a more realistic Joker for the younger audience it targets, and they wouldn't spend anymore cash than was needed on new prints for characters they've already got.

Nice work, especially with the photoshopping. I think in future you might need to input more emotion into each character's individual pose. I think Sirius needs to look like he's falling a bit more, and Harry might look better with his arm reaching out, struggling against Lupin(?). Otherwise, great work for just your second vig. Maybe a vig of Harry against Voldemort next? Or perhaps something involving the Gaunts or the Riddle House.

I've been playing Half Life 2: Episode 2, Guitar Hero 3 and Super Mario Galaxy. All fantastic games. -
Nice looking new figs and sets. I'd certainly like them if I was a really avid Spongebob fan. Hehe, for a moment I thought Vader was saying 'Lord Of Pies' as an exclamation.

I concur with Exo-builder. Hair looks, great, face, not so much. I'd love to see Lego make this hair in black.

Loving films like Star Wars, I think some of the licenses are brilliant. It's just unfortunate that the harsh truth is, Lego needs the licenses. If kids see their favourite film characters in a Lego set, they're more likely to buy it. It's the same reason why the rushed film to console games hit the top of the charts every time they come around (not saying that lego sets are rushed or are of bad quality). While I'd love to see more original castle and space sets, that's not what the majority will pay for nowadays. It's terrible, but it's the way it's been for a few years now.

Cheers guys! No Lego for me this birthday, as I didn't ask for it. Just a brilliant Nikon D40x DSLR camera, a case for it, an extra battery just in case, Spiderman 3 on DVD to arrive once the post sorts itself out, a couple of CD's from my sis, and tons of money for me to spend in America next week! (possibly some on Lego ;-) )
-
Die Hard! Saw it with a bunch of mates for my Birthday party yesterday (not my b'day til Tuesday though). One very good party indeed though. Yippie Ki - ay megablocks megablocker ;-)

Fall Out Boy are a pretty good band. There are much better ones out there, but their music is catchy and pretty addictive. I like their new album, but I agree zz-80, it's kind of repetitive and samey now, and I'm not sure they'll be able to follow up Infinity on High well.

Yeah, great work once again Hinckley!
-
Why not? As long as it's done when most territories have got their hands on the new sets, I'd be well up for it!
-
Great idea! Maybe this is what lego could do if they ever wanted to release single figs. Guess it's too bad Hasbro won't let em do it with their licenses |-/ Anyways, I might give some stuff like this a shot!
-
Nice video. Hope that guy wins the contest!

The Many Adventures of the Whacker and the Walrus Issue #3
JoeMI6 replied to Hinckley's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
ha! Another brilliant comic. "Not a search warrant." *Presents megablocks Kicking Warrant* X-D -
If that's the case, then you should definitely check out firefly. It's an awesome TV show. Last movie I watched - Shawshank Redemption. Touching and inspiring - Everyone should see it!
-
Very well done! I wish I had such talent.

Very nice work. I agree with LordT, that face could be used for Transformers MOCs.

I'm loving the look of all these sets. It's great we get to see more of those cool little bikes, and I think that even from these early pics, we can see that TLC will probably do Indy justice.

For me, it's between Episode 1 and 2. But even then, they are both good movies. I think George Lucas still achieved what he wanted to with the Star Wars saga, even with it's shortcomings. That is proven even more by its huge fanbase around the world. They are all fun, meaningful, great movies that everyone should enjoy watching, even if we have to endure the odd Jar Jar moment every now and again ;-)

When we went and bought Halo: Uprising, LordT was kind enough to lend me a bit of cash to get Classics Grimlock. After seeing the original Transformers movie, he became my new favourite TF, and he's very cool. Also, if you get a chance, I recently saw Arcee, 2008 Bumblebee and Thrust in my local Wilkinsons in the UK. But if you see them near you, then snatch them up quick, as when I went back, the scalpers had visited, and there was nary a deluxe wave 3 fig in sight.
