Got given Kongu by my brother as an exam congratulations (I got an A in French GCSE, taken two years early). Unfortunatly, he came with Matoro's sword for some reason. But a quick complaint to Lego, and I should have the right part in ten working days :-) .

I've never really had a dark age, per say. I've just faded in and out of the hobby really. I might try and limit my spending a bit next year though, as other things are drawing my attention. As for TLG and the lego community, a lot of new revalations are showing that we are not really in a dark age at all. Apart from excess of stuff like lame action features (missles, launchers), things could not be better. I mean, mini fig packs. Fans have been crying out for those since god only knows when. And stuff like Bionicle has never been stronger. I think a lot of people are setting too much store by the bad stuff. Ok, Exo-Force may just be Lego trying to cash in on the Anime popularity, but it's churned out some pretty nice sets. And Lego have learned from their mistakes; wave 2 will probably be better than ever. Just try to look on the bright side, as 2007's shadow looms, I think we could be genuinely surprised.

I rewatched two movies yesterday; Fellowship of the Ring and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. The humour of Austin Powers and the special effects of LoTR still stand up today, even considering they were made in the late 90s. It reminded me that I really need to get the Austin Powers series on DVD. And Fellowship rekindled my love for the epic trilogy. I'll need to break those out of my DVD library soon. Two very different movies, but two equally enjoyable viewing experiences.

Humour is not necessarily a requirement Alex, but do your best. I'm sure that it'll be good anyways.

Yeah, I saw that whilst on holiday. It looks better than the teaser one I think. Literally translated, doesn't it mean 'Snakes in the Plane'? Even though I know that it's not correct in French not to write 'sur' in that context. So, could you perhaps *cough* send me *cough* this CD you have Jinzo... ;-)

Damn you Sam ;-) . Your awesome news means I'm probably gonna want to break the bank for pretty much all the new Star Wars stuff. It's good to see that TLC is giving us what we want and a bit on the side.

It's the return of the B-Movie really. Looks like a definite must see. Unfortunately I'm not 15 yet, so I can't legally see it. Maybe I can sneak in...

This set intrigues me. To me, even though the return of the spines isn't too good, they seem to suit this new creature more than the Piraka. This set is a lot more insect like, whereas the Piraka had a bit of a humanoid shape going on. It'll be interesting to see what follows this next year.

Nice figs there Apo. It's good to see you kept them purist. As I am a Hulk fan, I feel this fig doesn't do him justice, but due to limitations, you've done well. Some nice likenesses with the other figs as well. Good jobs all around. Well done.

Yes, well done to all the entries so far. This will be a hard contest to judge if the current good standard is kept up. Don't worry Dillon, you've got a fair while yet ;-).

I would never mod bricks probably. Especially nothing like cutting. There are times when I've wished I could do so, but it seems like too much of a messy process. I've painted parts of figs before. The results haven't been that bad. But I only do it when there isn't really any other option. So overall I'm pretty against it, I try to keep stuff as purist as possible. Lego is lego and was designed to be built and played with in it's produced form. So play on!

I think that TLC might be a bit leanient on this new weaponery like they were with the Batman line. As Star Wars is space fantasy and all. We all know that Laser guns aren't real, so I think that may be Lego's excuse.
