Oh yes, the ship.During the quest I had forgotten we have that. Is it in good repair? Should we find a captain for it? Nerwen pauses, looking at Guts' serious face, sorry. What do you want to suggest?
-
Nerwen sees Guts subtly insert himself into her line of sight.. A smile plays on the corner of her lips. Speaking to Benji she says,I accept. It is almost Grogmas again is it not? I feel like I have been gone a long time. I hope the meat does you good. Having concluded her buisness with Benji, she steps over to Guts, saying softly How fare you?

Nerwen returns to the hall. She sees Boomingham drinking with Thothwick, the metasimian she rescued in Darstan. She swings by the quest board and finds not one, but three open quests. She signs her name under quest #88 and #89. (in that order) Then, walking past a despondent hero looking a bit peaky, she recognises Benji from the quest to find Shaun. His clothes, demeanour and posture were all different, speaking of a twisty path to his current state. You look like you need to eat something. she fished in her satchel and pulled out the carefully wrapped piece of raw meat. After checking it was still good she said, I was going to find somewhere to cook this, but you might like it better than I.

Nerves dodges around the commotionin the square and steps up to Elphaba's wagon. She purchases scrolls of confusion and frailty as well as a garnet, opal and topaz. She counts out 50+50+100+100+100=400 400 gold, leaving her with 645-400=245 245 gold. Thank you Elphaba. I hope they catch your thief.

Heroica RPG - Quest #77: Your Elves are Better than Ours

Ahvialyn, the amulet I had and the ride that we took from Eubric to here reminded me of the horses I cared for when younger. Is there some way I might be given a horse for my own? -
Big thanks to Doc for taking Nerwen and for the great quest. I did enjoy myself and I hope I wasn't too narky about updates. As I said a couple of times, the delays weren't the issue for me, but the non-communication of delays. It's a fine point, and if you're stuck without any access, I guess either are difficult. Thanks also for letting me voice Calaryl, especially at the end with Throlar. I've more to say about fellow questies and so on, but I'll leave it for the moment, I need to reread the quest from start to finish.

Nerwen hands Arthur the Scroll of Confusion, Scroll of Frailty, Scroll of Armor Sundering and Scroll of Poisoning. I think that is all the ones you lent me. -

Nerwen returns Arthur's scrolls and lens. She hands Throlar the elven sword and takes her mourning star back. I am pleased to have been of service, Lord Normorn. -
I think he's more saying that Doc knew we went looking for loot, knew the warehouse was lootless and could have just said so, rather than having everyone take time with actions...

I'd be fine without a picture. But there wasn't much description either. And a game of 'guess what the QM is thinking' to get the loot at the end of a long open quest is almost not worth it. Nerwen also investigates the flies checking if they are gathering around a corpse, spoiled food or are just a distraction. -

Thank you Arthur. The thing with the light was more a dig at Doc about lack of pictures -
Case in point. Early in #77 Throlar kept into the saddle of a horse. A standing jump to a seat above ones shoulder is difficult for a human. Throlar is a dwarf. Throlar's writer (Lord Duvors) didn't mean anything special by it, he wasn't claiming some sort of preternatural agility for his character. So the options were, 1. Ignore what was written (mentally ret-con in a more laborious mounting of the horse) 2. Go with what was written and with what is entailed about Throlar's athleticism, and wait to see if that's a direction Duvors takes the character. Not meaning to single out LD here, just using it as an exemplar.

Nerwen looks for a torch or similar so that she can see what she is doing. Failing that, she extends her elven sense of smell and hearing to gain a clearer picture. She uses her bent crowbar to open whatever can be opened. -
My thoughts on this have latest been posted to the theatre topic. Once again though, these are my guidelines rather than prescriptions for everyone.

Having browsed the wares of the potion shop, Nerwen walks to the warehouse. -
You can always ask Father Grogmas!

Nerwen looked around and stretched. Does anyone remember what the reward was for this? 48 hours without update Doc. Even a 'sorry busy, update tomorrow' would have been fine. -
It should go in the effect. Eg *bleeding* becomes *bleeding 5* meaning 5 damage at end of turn. Similarly *burning* >> *burning 3* And *poisoned* >> *poisoned 1* then badly poisoned simply becomes *poisoned 10* and higher numbers are available for more potent toxins. It also works for positive effects, *blessed* >> *blessed 3* A number can be added to the front of the effect as a timer. Eg. *sealed* >> *3 sealed* And if a cap on hastened/encouraged/lucky is enforced, that's easy to mark *10 Lucky* So. Numbers at the front count down. When an effect is reapplied, the number is overwritten, not added to the count Also, numbers behind are overwritten if from multiple sources. Eg, if Nerwen hits an enemy with a *burning 3* but Atramor comes along with his staff of burninating *burning 6* the 3 from Nerwen is not added to the 6 but discarded.

The question is, how long before the merchant returns and opens the shop? -

Nerwen smiled at the young Druid. So we have our plan. Potion shop, warehouse then back to brobric to report. Hopefully we shall not need to spend another night here. -

It seems you have finally learned diplomacy Ambassador. So be it. A subtle hand signal dismisses the guards, Lady Calaryl herself steps clear of the doorway You are free to go and rejoin the others. I believe they went to the marketplace. Keep your word Naugr. Farewell. -
Given that each of them has two hands, you'd only need six to have a dozen hands. But perhaps there's a one handed Master Donny, making up a devil's (bakers or long) dozen....
-
Maybe there's like six of them? A Dozenhands?

Tholar hears a slow clapping. Inventive. said Lady Calaryl. You are here because I am informed you are responsible for the harm dealt to one of my men. She raises a hand. Spare me your tedious and predictable denials. You have been positively identified. You have harmed one of mine. Your life is forfeit. Have no doubt I could take it now myself if I so chose. But you may yet be useful and repay the debt in another way. Sometime in your career at Heroica you will have the opportunity to gain favour with House Shadeux, the employers of Sir Shawe. Take that opportunity. Then send word to me. You will be asked to use that good reputation to deliver something to them for me. And then I will count you free of obligation. Do we have an understanding Master Wineghilm? Calaryl waited patiently for his response, the armoured knights flanking her only emphasising Throlar's lack of options other than speech.
